  1. Epic bike shop have only ever given me good honest service. Don't no about having to belong to their clan, when I went there for the first time I was clueless only thing I got from Lance was patience and a willingness to impart his knowledge
  2. blockhouse

    Ha Ha

Expect nothing less from the Irish.... Brilliant
  3. One thing about oakleys is they don't fog up, that alone means I'll take a chance on them peeling once every couple of years, as opposed to having to put up with fogging everytime I ride
  4. Well said dirtbreath, I'm in retail, when there's a problem I first and foremost determine in my own capacity whether the customer is right, if so I repair or replace depending on the policy. What I don't do is wait to see if the supplier agrees, that's my fight and has nothing to do with the customer
  5. Never nice to hear, hopefully this incident will bring some sanity to the issues at the cradle, with people on boths sides of the fence realising what is really important in life. Condolensces to the family
  6. look for a second hand anthem 1 or 2, proven pedigree and great value for money.
  7. Eugene, I'm all for perservering but as with anything you need to have a basic understanding, not knowing the necessity for using a torque wrench before you get start can result in terminal damage. Acidfreak, maybe look at going on a maintenance course with Johann
  8. Bud, do yourself a favour take it to a bikeshop, it'll save you in the long run
  9. RIP to a legend of the sport, his name wasn't only known in cycling circles
  10. Zeepee, I have the same fears with my Pro Ride. There seems to be a lot of movement, and I'm worried that my carbon xc rims are taking the majority of the stress
  11. Agree, this kit is just too bad to be the real deal, you no what they say theres no such thing as bad publicity.
  12. Peleton, if you purchasing from overseas make sure you don't bring it in as a complete bike, bring it in over a couple of orders as spares.... As Spinnekop says this will save you 30%. Remember the local distributors don't do the volumes to attract the sort of manufacturer rebates that the guys qualify for in in the larger European and American markets....
  13. Crow, you right it does look sick, I just wonder if it's all show but no go......
  14. Para, I gotta admit I really miss the smog that you captured perfectly in your first photo. Reckon it's time to pack up and head back.
  15. The first generation Fortuner has an inherent problem regarding the chassis/suspension geometry. There was no recall, as they didn't have a solution other then replacing the vehicle, and lets face it, in the capatalist world in which we live that was not going to happen. The problem has apparently been rectified in the latest generation. If you going to buy one of these second hand, make sure it's not a first generation vehicle. By the way do your own homework, every dealer will tell you that the problem has been rectified on their vehicle
  16. summit, I can never see the pics you post on the hub, always displays with a red cross
  17. Silverboy, what's EBV??
  18. Must be fun dragging that thing up the hill for an hour, so you can get a couple of minutes pleasure coming back down.
  19. All depends ding dong, sometimes you can end up with the turning circle of a 10 ton truck, which is not so lekker on single track
  20. there are a couple at the Epic Bike Store, and Lance knows everything about these bikes.... only problem is they based in Plumstead, Cape Town. But I would still recommend you give him a call
  21. Mackiemoo, As a fellow Irishman, I'm gutted. But to be honest we should of put the game away earlier.... for instance who would've bet against Keane scoring in a one on one with the goal keeper, he scores those goals week in and week out in the premiership. Better team against the Italians, better team against the French it's fricking tragic
  22. very nice rig, only thing I don't rate are the blue grips
  23. Big ben, Could you post there contact details. Thanks,
  24. Bos, Once again proves a slightly heavier, but properly balanced bike will serve you better then something that is light but handles like a pig.
