  1. The Orbea is seriously hot, and their website for customisation is absolutely amazeballspants. That is how I would want to buy a bike. Pricing isn't bad either for a kitted carbon bike (the M10). Have some fun: https://www.orbea.com/us-en/myo/step-1/family/rallon/ I made myself a jade-green bike with orange decals
  2. What he said... Other than that. Googling "KTM Scarp review" found these: http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/category/bikes/mountain-bikes/full-suspension/product/ktm-scarp-29-elite-22s-xt-review-51058/ https://www.singletracks.com/blog/mtb-reviews/ktm-scarp-prime-test-ride-review/ https://bikeboard.cc/ktm-scarp-29-prestige-ber6581 https://www.bikerumor.com/2016/06/30/ktm-lays-up-race-ready-xc-full-suspension-scarp-hardtail-myroon-in-new-light-sonic-editions/
  3. You're mad. Respect! BTW. I saw a competition (I think it was in ride mag, Dec/Jan) that you can win a Lynskey frame, full xt & lauff fork. The big part of the competition entry was to commit to doing to Munga 2017. Maybe have a look. I'm sure not many people are entering that. I naturally chickened out proper.
  4. This deserves a sympathy prize. C'mon Scott.
  5. Damnit Tim, damnit. Congrats. Photo's or it didn't happen
  6. The top tube shaping is pretty rad. It's just that rear triangle positioning and rocker seem like an afterthought. I've never been a fan of the look of the dual sus Cubes. I'm a big fan of bikes with a sense of flow on the frames: http://brimages.bikeboardmedia.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/2015-Cannondale-Jekyll-Carbon-1-275-650B-enduro-mountain-bike06.jpg http://www.tweekscycles.com/oncirrus/3/image/product/zoom/0123456789/0123456789/mon_foxy-xr-carbon-frame.jpg http://brimages.bikeboardmedia.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/frame-strive-cf-race.jpg
  7. They look seriously vanilla
  8. Pretty good deal: http://www.takealot.com/suunto-ambit-3-sport-blue-heart-rate/PLID34151708 Or http://sport.takealot.com/sport-suunto-ambit3-sport-white-heart-rate/PLID34151709
  9. Jumping on the bandwagon here. Who are the suspension wizards in JHB? Every time I have done my suspension it has had to be sent far and wide. My RS Revelation is in need of some TLC.
  10. Go to a motorbike shop and buy the roll of sticky vinyl. costs about R100 and you can cut your own fancypants shaped protector.
  11. uhg, It's just a wall in the park. Yeah jhb
  12. Simple: I need me some wheels. #IronManFrance2017
  13. Hacksaw....
  14. 8, 9, 10, 11.. 12 speed. What comes after 12?.. 8 does, 8 comes after 12. In Sramworld. That said. Brakes based on Codes, I'm keen. I'm sure the "e" suffix scratches off easily enough.
  15. It's not my B-day. You already have presents today
  16. I believe many of you misunderstand the true point of pricing model: Don't complain that it goes all the way up to R200k, because that's the table you show you wife when you "only" get the R70k one. Wife: "Gee hubby, what a logical and sensible idea."
  17. My bike store room is prettymuch wherever in the house I leave my bike. Then there's the wife's pleb-bike which lives outside (no love). Lekker cave Wolfie.
  18. Good to know. Thanks. I tried sitting it in the sun for a bit with a lot of air pressure in it. Fixed it a bit but still wobbles. Very frustrating. Balls about the High Rollers.
  19. Having some interesting problems with my Onza setup. I switched from being a serious Conti fan to the Onzas and loved them off the bat. Running Ibex front, Canis rear. Now my Canis sidewall canvis started showing and leaking a bit (diagonal lines both sides) and not from rub or damage. And on Sat my Ibex "buckled"? or something like that. I tried re-seating it but it's got a permanent deformed section. Which I'm kind of peeved about seeing that it's not that old and the tread is still perfect. Is this a thing that generally happens, or just a freak occurrence? Because now I need a full new set and like the Ibex's enough to get a new set again (Ibex 2.4 F 2.25 R) Else I'm keen to try something new (Possibly Maxxis Highroller - if I can find someone who stocks them)
  20. Anyone in JHB stocking these at the moment?
  21. At the rate of the rand, the R17.5K is just future-proofing the article. For at least a week or two. A few months time it will be "Yoh, under 20K, bargain".
  22. Yes it makes sense because the front geometry and front wheel offset is the same/similar along the range (managed by the bars+stem). So all the bikes from S to XL should have the same characteristics. Being super tall sounds rough.
  23. If it's required for you to actually fit properly on the bike, then it shouldn't matter seeing that you don't really have a choice. You can also consider a setback seatpost/dropper. Nobody likes a stem debate. They belong in the wheelsize and pedal type debate box.
