Hey Guys & Gals
Just wanted to say that this was the most awesome enduro I have ever raced. It was just such a great experience to get stoked with your fellow racers and riding some of the best trails in the country. I even met Greg which was quite memorable.
Big kudos to Rob, Nigel, Kath and everyone else involved for organising a world class event. The EWS starting arrangement for stage 1, day 2 was interesting.
I would like to ask where can we find photos of the action, I cannot seem to find any?
Cheers
My Menabo rack started disintegrating after 3 years. Worst thing is I cannot clamp my Banshee on it, so whats the point.
I now load my bike in my Outback. Would love to buy a Thule, but that would interfere with all the bike upgrades I am planning.
Man I love Alutech!
Due South also stock Osprey. I have the Raptor 10. Awesome pack!

Excellent article, this made me LOL
"Forget everything I moaned about when being forced to type out my notes on climbing - you won't give a single **** after riding the Taiwha how it was intended to be ridden. On a rough, fast trail, the kind that you maybe get a little nervous to ride, this thing will make other bikes feel like a Mumford & Sons song that you play quietly in your Yaris with the windows rolled up because it's Mumford & Sons. But the Taniwha? It's you cranking Slayer to 11 from the speakers in your Abrams tank while tearing up the grass at your old high school. It's tank donuts. "
Where is that? Lesotho? It's beautiful! The land and the bike... maybe you too
Hey Dan
That photo was taken on a farm called Pitlochrie, in the New England area. It is my most favorite place in the world. I had my 30th birthday there and got engaged there.
Man how much I miss that place now....
What do you guys consider to be the best alu Enduro rims available - I'm less worried about hubs, but would look at complete wheelsets? I have AC Smokin Gun's but want something that isn't quite as wide (anyone looking for 40mm wide 650B wheels?). The E13 TRS+ have always interested me but I don't know a lot about them.
I run the E13 TRS+ rims, got them from Trailhead about 18months ago. Pretty solid rims, very good value for money. They are still going strong. You cannot go wrong with them, you might find it difficult to find stock in SA at the moment though.
That design just screams shock servicing .....same deal with solid bikes
Haha yeah but Propain took the liberty to add a tiny rear fender to protect the shock. FWIW
Propain

Sleeeeek AF!
That is awesome Fleming!
Well executed project using your work experience and resources. How did you work around the hub spacing change with the bracket on the inside of the stays?
I like that Raaw very much. It is very well thought out, but hell pricey.
This aint bad either.
Kudos to all who helped and organised at this event. It was an epic experience in the slippery conditions. The skills clinic surely helped, it was super dirty sideways fun. Sam Bull was a champ at leading us Bloem boys, we had such a great time.
I will definitely join again in 2018, the Howick trails are sick!
Cheers!
I have always been a big fan of Alutechs. I almost imported a frame, but that would have been stupid
I was way too broke at the time
I braai'ed whole baby octopuses the other day with a soy/pineapple juice marinade. They tasted great but they shrunk like tenfold and some fell through the grill.
They were about the size of my hands before I threw them on the grill.
