  1. I also prefer the 2x10 crank setup on the Silverback to the 3x10 on the Momsen.
  2. You can also look at Titan, but the Silverback will be hard to beat.
  3. I`ll go with the Silverback: 1. More Shimano comps - Shimano SLX drivetrain 2. Better fork - Silverback got the 15mm thru-axle Reba

    Cyclelab

    I like Cyclelab
  5. And be careful how you remove them if you squeeze them then it will puke it`s guts out into your bloodstream.
  6. I think they just did not bother to change the start times from the original winter start times. It is already going to be scorching hot at 8am in the Paarl - Accuweather predicts 36 with a real feel of 39. I wanted to do the ValDeVie but I`m rather going for a training ride at 6am and avoid riding in the oven. http://www.accuweather.com/en/za/paarl/301198/weekend-weather/301198
  7. The 1m law is an easy way for the DA to tell cyclists "we care about you", assuming cyclists are dumb enough to believe that the law will make a difference to their safety.
  8. Time to get off the tar, out of the smog, away from the cars and trucks, take a mtb and head out to the mountains! Give up the tar.
  9. The Storm is a great bike with XT and Crest wheels. Value for money it is hard to beat. It is the bike I went for I have never been sorry. But there is a steel bike out there that has caught my eye - the Cotic Solaris - have to get one sometime!
  10. Many car/bicycle accidents are not because of cars passing too close, but has other causes. For example the 1 meter law does not come into play in an accident like Burry`s. I found it strange that Burry`s death sparked the 1.5m campaign yet it would not have meant anything in his accident. My feeling is that the 1m law will not make a big difference but still worth it to implement it just might save a life, but it will also instill a false sense of security amongst roadies.
  11. When I ride these trails there usually are more rogue riders than riders with number boards. I do not believe that talking to them will change anything. The most effective way to deal with this is to go on busting rides on non-club-riding-times and confiscate their bicycles or just a wheel.
  12. To me the Fox is the better shock because I have never been able to get my RockSox as plush as my Fox.
  13. dry conditions? Gonna need lots of UVs to get the trails dry by 8am after this downpour.
  14. Giant Anthem Advanced 27.5 should be more "playfull" with shorter chainstay and wheelbase. Giant Maestro suspension is superb.
  15. Club members are also not allowed to ride through Stellenzight anymore. The question was about alternatives to riding through Stellenzight.
  16. Rogue riders...., I think there were more than one reason but the main one being rogue riders. The alternative at the moment is to use the R44 to get access to the gravel road/Blauwklippen road which comes out between the trees about 200m up the hill from the Anandale Road robots. I`m gonna moer a rogue rider soon...
  17. Confiscate their bicycles or a wheel, prosecute them, charge them with trespassing, organize rogue rider busting rides, what can be done about rogue riders? This needs to stop!
  18. You climb, and climb, and climb, for a vvveerrryyy long time. I think I`ll go ride it tomorrow after work
  19. Elliotti/Never Ending trail Jonkershoek. Video made by Dominic Calitz: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vs4-pBdusP0
  20. G-Spot is more of a jump track than xc st. Neverending Story/Elliotti in Jonkers is better that G-Spot. Elliotti is about 6km long excluding the bottom part after crossing the big road. I think Elliotti could be the best long fast flowing st in the Cape.
  21. Agreed! I want bicycle races that take genetics into account
  22. Still worth a shot. Have I mentioned I`m lightning quick off the mark with running?
  23. If you ask politely the bodybuilder might agree to settle the fight in the form of a bicycle race (the sterroids makes one not too clever).
  24. Try mtb Enduro, it`s mostly timed on downhills.
  25. More muscle = more power. I want mtb races where muscle mass is taken into account
