Hi guys and girls. Just a quick question on the venu sq. Has anyone maybe found some form of screen protector for it.
I had mine for almost a month now, and I managed to scratch and crack the screen from just every day wearing. The screen got cracked while shopping yesterday
I want to send mine into Garmin to have the screen fixed, but I am looking to protect the repaired unit when it returns, Seems the screen is made of cheese.
Also look at Trailtech Cycles. Been wanting to buy a Dartmoor Hornet or Primal from them for the longest time
Good Morning Everyone,
Here is another alternative that doesn't break the bank. Bought it recently and tested it out last night. Seems to work perfectly so far:
Just as a side note. The strap is a bit shorter than the original Garmin strap. I nearly had to run it at full extension to fit me.
I have been running Enduro seal for the past two years and I am very happy with it. I have been using it in mixed terrain, on both my xc as well as my "enduro" rig.
It also performs very well whenever I go ride the thorn (duifie doring, thorn tree, duiweltjie) ridden terrain on our farm in the Norhern Cape. It sealed some epic punctures in my tyres I would have opted for a plug while using Stans.
I used to have issues with weeping sidewalls with Stans on my Shwalbe and Onza tyres (Both tubeless ready tyres), I had to constantly had to top up my sealant. Switched to Enduro seal, problem solved.
The small enduro seal bottle is also, in my opinion, the best way to get sealant into your wheels. I just keep filling the small bottle from the bigger bottle each time I redo my wheels.
And at the price of Enduro seal, I don't mind cleaning out the old sealant every now and then and replacing it with fresh sealant.
Don't see myself using anything else again soon
I ran it on both my bikes as frame protectors. Didnt last very long in the high wear areas, and was a mission of note to get off my my bike. Ended up heating it with a hair dryer as it reduced the glue residue upon removal.
Rather buy a proper frame protection kit
Yes, I am missing a Merida bike. I am at work and my Merida is in my garage. Oh, how I miss my bike today...
In that sense I miss mine as well...
Here's a Scalpel as well. Also not finding it in the stolen section though.
Seems facebook marketplace is dodgy AF
Also possible, just though I put it out there
Awesomeness. Glad you got your steed back.
Know from experience the dread of having one stolen.
so the original owners need to come forward with some info imo.....because if you ask me, someone's life is about to get.....complicated. Especially if they are 'innocent'. I don't know, I might be a pessimist or have zero faith in humanity...but this has some scents of "make my bike go away...i need the claim money"...and then "you can sell it for your part" kind of thing.
Please please please prove me wrong...
The OP listed his cellphone number in the listing. Not sure if one should message him about updates on the thread and also so that he can provide feedback about the situation?
Admin?
Screenshots just taken now. Seems the add was taken off marketplace and he is advertising it on his wall now.
I see I have a have an old colleague that is a common friend with the seller that I can contact to try and find out the seller's address if that will help?
Also curious if one can maybe inform Amazon about their employees dealing in stolen goods?
Im loving it. Will have to find a way to motivate a new bike purhase with the missus as soon as they get launched locally
Thanx bud. Saw that as well last night, but I don`t think that applies to my air shaft?
The internal travel adjust air shaft was the 2015-2017. There is no extra holes in my old air shaft to change the travel.
Hi guys and girls,
I just had my 2018 27.5 Fox 36 Factory Fit RC2 serviced and had the travel extended from 150mm to 160mm.
Last night the engineer in my took over and I checked out the old air shaft (150mm Float Evol) as I am eyeing it out for another Frakenstein project I am thinking of undertaking, and saw that the shaft actually has a 170mm stroke.
Current airshaft that came out of my fork:
Picture for stroke measurement reference:
No my noob question, purely out of curiosity. How does the 170mm stroke relate to 150mm travel?
Lekker Friday
Guys, there's a chap on Facebook selling components at crazy prices. Goes by Alex Petersin. He is well researched, and has loads of pics of the components he's selling. He is insisting on a direct Ewalet or PEP payment. Loads on inconsistency in his profile, claims to have grown up in Hermanus, has pictures of American mountain bikers and trails on his profile, His profile says he he lives in Cape Town, but claims he claims he is in East London.. I called him and he's definitely from Francophone Africa. Doesn't understand a word of Afrikaans. When i insisted on Escrow payment, he started name calling and the usual crap.
He is active on facebook marketplace as well.
Even though the b-tension looks to be off, it wont affect your rd cage getting stuck like that. Did you not maybe overextend the rd causing damage? This could happen if you bottom out in you granny gear and your chain is too short.
It could either be that there is an issue with the spring / cage. The spring that puts tension on the cage might be slipping out of its detent and getting stuck, or the spring might be broken.
Alternatively, your clutch can be binding up.
Long story short, its new, you LBS where you bought it should replace it for you.
(exploded view of rd just for reference, I know its a 10 speed rd)
edit:
it could be that the bolt, securing the cage to the RD body might be too tight also. See bolt in blue circle
It has some Scott vibes to it? had a Montana and an Aspect back in the day that had similar drop outs
I think he is looking for the actual axle....not hub options.
Op: this advert is expired but contact this guy....he has a friend who can make/machine custom axles, I spoke to him sometime last year about a custom axle.
https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/wheel-spares-and-axles/17796/custom-machined-thru-axles
my bad. didn't read properly as per usual
You have two options out of the classifieds:
1) Octane 1: (32H)
https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/mountain-bike-hubs/406278/octane-one-20mm-front-hub
2) Hop Pro 2 Evo (36H)
The hope can be converted from qr, to 15x100, 20x110, 15x110boost with different end cap options.
The only downside to these hope hubs are the 36H drilling unless you have a 36H hoop lying around.
As a side note
I have a Hope pro 2 (32H) evo on my Marzocchi 66 RCV
Who cares about the bike, look at the green grass! From Gordons Bay nogal !
haha, that the only small alive and green patch. My staffie destroyed the rest. Only rough my bike will see in awhile is the longish grass. must probably mow the lawn tomorrow, seeing that I cant go ride
