But where do I put my Samurai's?
You get yourself a Ryder slug plug
Thus the reason i trusted him, guess the track record does not count for much.
If that the case then just communicate, don't just leave things hanging
If you have his number and he answers , please ask him to contact me
Don't have his number saved, but messaged another guy I know that friends with him. Will DM you the number as soon as I get it
He is a solid guy. Work at a bikeshop as far as I know. Bought some parts from him and I've been to his house 2 or 3 time to collect parts
I like how the cable is thread through the steerer tube. Makes me think I can mcgyver a similar setup with just about any brakes. Formulas will be more likely though as they have those speedlock goodies.
we used to run our front brake cables through the top cap and down the steerer tube . Leaves an ugly loop, but affords you the option for bar spins etc. much more elegant on this bike though. The holes in the handlebar for the hoses just freak me out a bit. look like failure points waiting to happen
If I may quote Deadpool: "good think I am wearing my white pants today"
Only thing I can think of is fluid leaks. Rear brake will have to have some type of gyro/waking joint to accommodate the handle bar spin. unless they have some type of mechanical stop for the bars. And hydrolic gyros/walking joints in my experience, just ended up giving trouble.
Brake lever position on the bars is also quite a personal thing. That relative to bar rise, sweep etc will make things kind of interesting. Cant see this as being a one size fits all solution.
But looks damn neat. can give them that
is the pro2 different from the pro4? i have converted a pro4 QR to 12mm using these before. the QR rear cap pulls out and these just slot in where they went.
Not that I know of. Its just a case of swoppping End Caps, if it is a Pro2 EVO. Not Sure about the old Pro 2
i know CWC has apack or two hanging on the shelf too....there by the wall close to the workshop counter on your right.

PS: the silver one goes on the cassette side (no instructions)

or buy this and save yourself all the hassle
You'll also have A spare inner axle
That setup is a mate of mine's. We used it to stiffen his 135mm qr rear triangle on his Antherm. Essentially turned his Hope Pro 4 into a bolt-on hub like on a dirt jumper (135x10).
The OLD will still be 135 with this setup installed and it is bolted on with 10mm Capscrews.
Unfortunately it wont solve the OP's issue to convert his hub to 142x12
Thanx guys. Laced up the rear Kore/hope pro 4 last night. Need to buy spokes for the front wheel still.
Will ride them a bit and see. Calculated weight for the wheelset is 2050g so probably isnt that heavy at the end of the day
I've had Flow Mk3s as well as the Arcs. While I find the Flows a bit 'meh' I can't fault them but I can't find anything to really rave abut them. The Arcs I had were pretty light and spun up very quickly but were pretty soft. I don't really think I'm that hard on my wheels but I noticed damage quite quickly.
I believe the Kores are prey bomb proof as well and a couple of bike shop guys I trust seem to rate them as well.
Some of my favorite wheels have been spanks as they are super tough and really responsive. There were some 29'r Kores here about a week ago that I was super keen on but for one reason or the other I missed out. Personally you're sitting on the Kores and you have the hubs why not give them a go. What kind of bike are they going on? I think they come across as quite burly.
They are for my Ibis Mojo HD3.
Had some spank spike 35's on my dirt jumper/dh bike back in the day and i loved them. Just seems semi inpossible to find solid 650b hoop locally. Want something solid, not too heavy and not too expensive. But know I wont be able to tick all three those boxes in one go
Hi guys and girls,
I am in the process of replacing the rims on my Ibis Mojo HD3.
Currently have Stan Flow Ex on Stans 3.30 hubs, but i am not a fan of the engagement of the rear hub.
I bought a set a hope pro 4's and a set of Kore Realm 3.0 hoops. Originally wanted the Raceface Arc30's, but the Arc's i bought ended up being 29" and i sold them on again.
I cant really find any reviews of the Kore's online and their weight kinda puts me off (585g a hoop, vs the 490g of the arc's). Not sure if its worthwhile to spend the money to lace up the Kore's.
Does anyone have any experience with the Kore Realm 3.0? Or should I rather try getting my hands on the Arc30's or something similar?
Has anyine 'fessed up yet? Trail still closed?
No news on trails being open or someone fessing up on their facebook page. So guess No more after work Mont Marie missions
I can recommend Bogus One and Carbon Bike Repair in Durbanvile. Both did some work on my bikes in the past
Oh cry me a river... on the other side of Stellenbosch there's land invasions and farmers getting shot but here we're concerned about one oke riding on a half built trail... let's get real peeps, there's bigger things to worry about in this country.
I fully agree. Yet we still need to respect the landowner, who gives us access to his property, free of charge. If we can't respect his rules or request, how much better as we than the land grabbers?
It all comes down to the entitlement epidemic sweeping through the country
From MM FB:
Maintenance has been suspended and the trails will be closed indefinitely. Riders through on the first day of maintenance. The damage is insignificant, but the disrespect enormous. This seems to be the trend now in Stellenbosch. Other areas suffer the same fate regularly, but builders and organisers are often helpless as the trails are built on public land. Ours is on private property however and privileges have been suspended until further notice. Any riders/runners will be treated as trespassers. Should the transgressors contact me privately and apologise trails may be opened again. No naming and shaming here - just an honest apology. There will also not be any further discussion on the matter in social media.
I just though of something. There is another way to get onto gutted baboon along the top of the trail. There is a route splitting off to the left as you approach this entrance taht takes you back towards eden and up above the tree line.. Was that route closed off / marked as close also?
Those tracks look suspiciously like those wider tyres on eBike. The riding of closed trails, also seems to point to an ex-golfer attitude.
comment removed, read like a muppet again
I know of a certain ou toppie riding his ebike that side. Ran into him plenty times rididing there after work
Think you might be on to something here.....
How about a small "petition" type letter from all hubbers (also left at bike shops in Stellies) to hand over to land owner. distancing ourselves from the behaviour of a few idiots/chops and asserting our gratitude for free use of land and commitment to abiding by rules and keeping others in line. A few hundred signatures will demonstrate we are more than the behaviour of one/few.
The above backed up with a "build" day to be organised, where everyone willing/able just pitches up with a real pitch fork and digs in
This sounds awesome. I more than keep to give back. Love that trails. Totally gutted that we cant ride it anymore
but then I will be forced to start saving for a Fox Float 36 with orange decals....
do it...Fox 36 for the win
Contact Robbies Bicycle Concepts in PE.
They do it
Other option is to replace your steerer tube if all else fails. Robbies Bicycle Concepts does ND Tuned Steerer Tube replacements. Quoted a friend 1500 for a new steerer for his Pike

Those wheels make me cringe. Reminds me of those crap plastic rims people run on their bmx bikes.
