Awesome timepiece. What was your reasoning to go with the Fifty fathoms instead of the usual Rolex sub?
My main gripe with Rolex is that it is too mainstream. When you see someone wearing a Sub you have probably a 10% chance that the person is a horologist. With the Blancpain that probably goes up to 95%.
The other factor is comfort. I like the bigger watches, which mean the only Rolex I ever considered was the Sea-Dweller deepsea. I like the look a lot, but it must be the most uncomfortable watch ever made. I used to have a IWC Big Piot, and as much as I liked that, it was also never a comfortable wearer. The Blancpain is similar size but way more comfortable.
Both the IWC and BP are excellent for connecting with other horologists on airports and at conferences
Not sure how come I have never noticed this thread, but it’s right down my alley. This is my latest addition. Just love the heritage that comes with this one

Do I need to US netflix? When is it on the local channels?Billions is back...????
Was dreading the SA/England test series but maybe it might just be a cracker and the springboard we so desperately need!So Ireland are grand slam six nations champions. England never pitched up and ended up 5th on the log only just above Italy. A pretty clinical day out by the Irish and they are looking really good

Wow, they sure were shredding it - that's for sure - those trails are in a sorry state right now. Hopefully the rains later this week will make things a little better.
Paul, het jy daai Barrel Run 'n go gegee?
Have to add that both series starts reasonably slow but if you plough through (maybe first 2 episodes) you will be richly rewardedPeaky Blinders
The Americans
Both great series and I can’t wait for the new seasons to arrive.

Sign up for the Buffalo category http://www.buffalomtb.co.za/
They start buffalo at 90kg....that's barely a decent size backline player! I see they have now even added a Buffalo lite category for 80kg-90kg. They should rather add a Buffalo+ category! At the back of the W2W Adventure F group there are a lot of Buffalo+ candidates if the add a 105kg+ category.
Should be ok then...
Sorry I just assumed (mother of all F#@k ups ) that you were on the heavier side due to wanting an XL frame
Ha Ha, honest mistake. I also fall in your side of the weight category and always ask for the weight limits of wheels etc. as I tend to exceed a lot of them. On that point, I think they should stop ranking race results in age categories and start acknowledging that weight is a bigger factor than age. It's a different sport above 105kg!
Loved the water bridge at the finish line last year!
Swop maar vir jou mtb en kom ry G-spot. Hier roer nie n blaar in Stellenbosch nie.
I got in at around 8:20 and registered for Adventure. Team number is 182 so it's definitely not full yet. Keep trying!!
What watch are you wearing?

Reading my post now I feel the need to clarify: I am not some rich douch that have plenty of money to throw around...hence the need to stand out from the Rolex crowd. Understanding the principles of "the law of diminishing returns" is after all a qualifying criteria on a cycling forum. I feel so much more at home amongst people with totally illogical passions than with people without. The watch forums actually have even more of those nutters than the HUB...
