  1. Set out this afternoon with good intentions. After about 5km of riding into a headwind I started feeling not so good and not long before I realized something was wrong.....the CTCT training is going to take a knock.....this was supposed to be the start.[emoji848][emoji5] Managed to take one pic before I "my ass fell out".
  2. Sounds like you're becoming a hoarder! Get a grip on yourself mate! [emoji6]
  3. Also saw this posted on the WD forum. Lekker bike, would look even lekkerder with a set of ape hangers.[emoji106]
  4. Saw the add for those classics on Facebook(I think). Couple of gems in there .
  5. Look, I know a lot of guy's don't like Harley's and although I'll probably never buy one I do find myself contemplating them every so often.Real beauty you have there Maxxis. [emoji108][emoji1690]
  6. Giant have always claimed that their Meastro suspension system does not need a lockout, if the shock is correctly inflated you are not suppose to suffer from pedalbob and therefore don't need a lockout. Not sure on how the suspension is supposed to perform on a climb though and I haven't really spent enough time on a duall-sus to speak out of experience.
  7. They have the Rotax motor yes and from what I understand they are pretty much bulletproof, if known issues are addressed before they become issues. For some reason I just don't like them. I bought my DR600 because I wanted something that I can cover wrough terrain with like a weekend enduro type ride but can also ride the 100km to the event. The Dakar doesn't fit the bill in my opinion. Then again my wife isn't going to be doing the wrough stuff but probably more dirt highway with maybe a bit of jeeptrack so I guess the Dakkie should be fine for her. I'll probably eventually give in, you know what they say, "happy wife happy life", but I'm not going to go down without a fight. I'm pretty sure once my DR is running again and I start teaching her to ride with gears on it she'll start coming around.
  8. Fortunately my wife is a big girl(tall) and I'm sure she'll manage the weight. I'm just not a van of thd Dakar, but in the end it's her decision. I'll tell her I'll put R20k down for a bike(you can get DR's and KLE's for this) if she want's a Dakar she can add the rest but I do no work or maintenance on the bike it's going to be her baby(Dakkie).
  9. My wife wants a Dakar but I've been trying to get her to change her mind to either a DR650 or one of these KLE 500's. They are very nice smaller dual purpose bikes.
  10. Haha! Kry vir jou![emoji23]
  11. Woke up at 5am with the wind howling outside. Thought of a few excuses but decided not to be "that guy" so got up end headed out to meet my mate. His been quite active over the past 6months while I haven't been doing much so I had to work hard to keep up. Fortunately it's better to suffer with company than suffer in silence.
  12. Fook me![emoji7]
  13. +1 for Dragon's, they are very good with warranty issues. For interest sake did you do the claim through Kings or a different Lbs?
  14. Haven't been on this thread for a while so catching up a bit.Damn thats pretty! I would go aero over weight everytime, not for the aero effect but for how gorgeos those Propel's are.[emoji108][emoji7]
  15. Ek is nog jonk en waaghalsig Bennie.[emoji12]Wat die wind betref het ek maar swaer getrap huis toe en ongelukkig was die damwal wat hoog en oop in die wind sit my kortste pad huis toe.[emoji100][emoji26]
  16. No legs this morning but I pushed on and was rewarded with a nice headwind on my way home.[emoji45]
  17. Not today but yesterday. A short 20km ride turned into a 60km just because.[emoji16]
  18. Welcome and enjoy the forum. Lots of useful info to be found here. Lekker ry.[emoji106]
  19. Thanks guys, will give one of them a go then.[emoji1690]
  20. I'm interested in doing at least one enduro event in 2019, the "all mountain" part is the only thing that bothers me, would you say this would be doable on a 100mm XC hardtail?
  21. Overslept a bit this morning and missed the group. Still went out for a solo ride and did some exploring round Brandvlei Dam. For some reason I'm drawn towards bodies of water. Was really chuffed to find some banana bread waiting for me at home.[emoji108]
  22. So glad I didn't just ignore my alarm clock like most of the other mornings this past holiday. Wasn't a big one but it was another beautiful one on our local trails.[emoji108]
  23. Have you asked elsewhere? If not I could ask on the Wild Dogs forum for you?
