  1. Yip we just lazy and enjoy the coffee too much as well as the endorphins from having a good sweat
  2. Overheard someone at the track session say something the other day which I think is very true. He said South Africans hard sessions are not hard enough, but more importantly the rest sessions/weeks are not easy enough. I can relate to this well because I am old school in my approach that if you not k@kking off you not gaining. After reading several articles I would agree with what I heard because we actually only get stronger when we rest our muscles. When we are k@kking off we are actually tearing them at a microscopic level, which if rested properly allows them to repair themselves stronger than before. I will endeavor to rest more this season ahead of the big Tri's coming up. I think we all should!
  3. Firstly, that is a saweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet looking bike! Secondly, those wheels aint too bad. Dont be so hard on urself! Thirdly, if you have the $$$ go for Zipps, they the sexiest IMHO. Get the 303's, probably the best all round wheels out there, but they aint cheap.
  4. U really are a child
  5. Great article. End of the day you need to be find a balance between comfort and aero. Clearly a lot can be said for being comfortable on a bike. Comfort will almost always translate to better performance. The line is fine...........

    IMSA 2012

Dunno if I have the b@lls to do the full. I have entered 70.3 and started training formally on Monday. So far so good. I guess Ill see how the training goes as well as 70.3 and make a decision after that.
  7. Nice toys. I would love one for Sani2c next year. When I asked the wife she just said why don't you pedal fast and train harder. Cant really argue with her on that point now............ Women I tell you.
  8. I've been through this debate many times in my mind before and I've decided to ride my drivetrain until it gives in. I reckon that makes more financial sense than changing chains whenever they are worn. Each chain is at least R250, and you would probably use 3/4 chains before you need to replace a cassette and chain rings. So that's +-R1k that will pay for your new drivetrain when it eventually does need to be replaced for a big event or does bomb out. So ride it until it gives in or until you have your next big stage race, because if you break something on a stage race and the drivetrain is worn, its gonna cost big $$$ as the bike shops at events are a rip off, as well as big aggravation.
  9.
  10. That looks awesome! Where the big blue b@lls?
  11. How did you get the MK?
  12. They are but they are heavier because they do a better job of staying puncture free.
  13. It may be heavy but its bomb proof. An extra few grams is worth it for a tyre that doesn't give any hassles. I think there are other weighs to save weight that don't compromise reliability.
  14. I run my MK at 1.6bar and the RK at 1.8 bar and it has made a huge difference. I weigh 84kg so u should account for that, but the increase in grip has been fantastic.
  15. My MK has done 200km's and still looks good for another few hundred. What pressures you running? In my experience I was running them way too hard and when I started fiddling and dropped it a bit the handling got much better.
  16. I can vouch for that. Ruan is fantastic and such a nice guy to deal with as well. I have phoned him several times to ask for advice and he is always so helpfull.
  17. That sounds like a great combo because I have found th RK to be lacking sometimes on the grip. Difficult to find a 2.4 UST MK though.
  18. Also interested in any reviews of the X king as my MK and RK are starting to look a little tired.
  19. I think joining a reputable cycling club is a fantastic idea. Its probably the quickest way to improve your cycling because there are always people better than you (generally). Its also a great way to meet new peeps. That being said there are some rubbish clubs out there that are not worth joining. Give the local club a call and join them on a ride or two to suss things out. If you like the vibe and the rides suit you in terms of day/time then give it a go.
  20. A pool is a good start
  21. Ja u would have to adjust it if you changed the cassette and chain etc. But what distance would you want to keep between the chain and the cogs is my question?
  22. On a side note, what is the perfect distance between the upper jockey wheel and the big and small cog at the back? I understand you use the b tension bolt for this adjustment. Just want to clarify the distance to have.
  23. U need to learn to do the fixes yourself. Go buy the parktool big blue book on bicycle repairs or just google it. Replacing a hanger and a derailer is fairly straight forward. The limit screws are a bitch though.
  24. Paid! Now we wait for the big day
  25. Just got a mail from Glen. Payment hasn't been open yet, it will open sometime today (ja right) and they will send a mail informing everyone. So just monitor your mail and wait. On the positive side, I get to spend longer with my R4.5k AND We have an entry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
