  1. comming from the W-cape...no I haven't seen a pale face in ages!! Even more so when i was on holiday in Gauteng...still clearly remember the black mama that pissed me off endlessly with her non-exixsten enthusiasm whilst sorting out my payment issue.... so, yes Woolies does not emp[loy whites.... show me the employment stats and I might think otherwise...I boycott them totally!! but my wife on the other hand....buys shares in the place on a daily basis!!
  2. Interesting dilemma.... Depends how strong my beliefs are...and how badly i NEED the said product... Take SHELL for example....will not willingly fill up at their station . (because I strongly belief the fracking issue is a potential env disaster! SHELL only did the application - there are surely many others also interseted...) BUT since there are many other (albeit not all squeaky clean!1) petrol companies to choose from...I'll support them... does my actiopn hurt SHELL??? certainly not, else they would have stopped the fracking application... do i need petrol??? yes - my bike can take me only so far!!
  3. As to the OP question... my answer = NO! Only the EPO supplier should be boycotted!!
  4. Soooo...are you going to boycot Woolies because they do not consider employing whites anymore??
  5. I'll take them both for half price??? Never had any problems with mine....
  6. Hey man - nasty surprize!! BUT you should get your moola back...might take a bit of time but IF you did not put your signature down (the bank will have to prove this otherwise...) NEITHER divulge your pin number...then you are covered! I recently went on a road trip to B.loem nad even before I got back home...my bank has contacted me about petrol; card transactions en route to Bloem!! Pretty sharp of them i must admit...
  7. Also make sure he knows something about carbon frames!!!
  8. Andyman...you make sense!!! I for one agree 100% ..I'd think twice... People like you should be taken up in these companies PR sections!!
  9. Cudo's...
  10. You are indeed correct, sir! The intended life cycle of the product = not forever!!
  11. For this one...and also based on Yellow Saddle's response...I'll put my vote with JB. He will NOT let inferior products leave his workshop...he is far too profesional for that. (so, even if he replaced with a previously used part...he would have made sure that it is as good as new for that spesific purpose)... In all my dealing so far with JB...I can say that I'll trust him and his proffessional opinion without a doubt! The man is a perfectionist...end of story!! Note to all future insurance claims...MAKE BLOODY WELL SURE THE ITEM IS GOOD AND BROKEN!!! Drive over it with you car if need be...then you'r claim might be succesful!! ha ha ha...
  12. Whaaat???? Frigggin shocking!! Seems most of sporting codes are funded through the members....if we want more gold medals ...we'll need some serious commitment from the sporting ministry!!
  13. I'd LOVE to buy into this idealistic philosophy...but I've alsom kept my eyes and ear open...like Cricket SA....have you seen /read/ the controvery surrounding that national body??? What stops CSA from becomming just that?? Another issue that I disagree with you is that cyclists should not be responsible for furthering this sport to the highest level...and if so, then a distinction should be made between the average weekend warrior (who does not five two sh!ts about furtheing the sport...and the more compettitve /serious cyclists thsat actually give a **** about the furthering of the sport....and is likely prepared to pay for it throug levies. Personally I think that the sport ministry should be responisble and be throwing the money at the sport...BUT it is MUCCH MUCH easier to fleece the weekend bike rider for his hard earned cash...
  14. WOW!!! It was a beautiful sunny weekend here in Somerset West....glorious days!! Bring on summer....yeah!!!
  15. Wow! Heavy topic!! Firstly, I'm not a memebr of Tygerberg MTB club...but indeed a member of another w-cape MTB club... Now, I'm in two minds as to how this affect, say for example MY MTB club....for one...more members will definately increase club revenues - which could go a long way in expanding our operations...but then - do we want a bunch of fancy pantsy runners in our club??? As for the conflict on the trails.....I'm going to sit back and read the much anticipated replies!! {popcorn ready!!}
  16. YOU are all a bunch of tjops!! For putting up with this CSA rip-off.... I stopped participating in these CSA sanctioned events....and rather joined a local club...(yes, i know...some of my ronds still end up with CSA...but it is inevitable...) With a local club participation (like here in Helderberg / Ct area) you get the benifit of great trails...which you then ride for free - when you want and for as long as you want...all the time thinking to yourself how you have "fooled" CSA everytime you go for a nice ride... No more CSA for me!!! I have seen the light.....and it's bright ...like a traibn at the end of the tunnel...
  17. Mooi man!!
  18. There you have it!! This dude got a PHD from this study....so it must be true!! Get over the weird feeling and drop your pressure!!
  19. ICE Id makes for a great gift!! Next occasion - tell your loved ones to add this to the Xmas stocking...
  20. Right, so end of winter is approaching and my feet are itchy!! Thinking (at this stage myself and a work partner) of doing a MTB trip along the west coast (~3day carefree meander...) sometime in October... Starting somewhere from Klawer /Papendorp and work my way down to end at Velddrif/Langebaan. Only two requirements - MUST be dirt roads and sleeping in BnB's..... I have a quick look on Google maps and it really looks inviting. Any one have experience in (1) These multi-day trips (i.e. essentials what to pack) (2) Knowledge of the area.... Let's hear it....
  21. Aaah, Ok, makes more sense now. I'm sure that "extension" is on the cards...sooon. Will be a great route when completed/ open.
  22. Wat soek jy daar op die boer se plaas??? Hy gaan jou op***... He he he...laat weet my ook as jy uitvind...
  23. Ok, bursting a bit late onto this scene...but what are the expectes costs of (1) 29er duallie frame? (2)build kit? Just ball park figures.... I'm in the mood for a lekka project and this might be right up my alley...
  24. Just yesterday - on my way home from work...i was driving behind this student and being bored...I studied his actions for a while... Can you believeit...the dude leans over to "fix" his cd player / or cell phone attachement ...but in doing so his car drifts nicely off the road into yellow lane...all in nice slow motion...so I noticed these tow pedestrians in his way...and can just see this accident happening!! Luckily they saw him as well and moved out of the way.... Thinking to myself - this is EXACTLY how cyclists are killed...foolish driver!!
  25. yeah...i have it on pvr slo mo...looks like he pulled his front brake hard....but no reason to...then his foot came off the cleat??
