    afaik...parafin & water don't mix (aslo terps and water don't mix) ... use undiluted!

    ja, i'm a bit gobsmacked at the momement!! I'm all for defensive driving...but really?? @Jigghead makes a valid point re: what if a fatatlity occurs? Then suddenly all balme to one person aor do the appotionment rule still apply? AND WHY MUST I BASICALLY STOP AT EVERY INETRESECTION JUST IN CASE SOME ASS DECIDED NIOT TO STOP WHEN HE SHOULD??? This reasoning actually just gives them more freedom to just ignore the BASIC road rules...because now the the "other" road users will have to look out for me...I can do as i wish!! It can only be in SA....

    Somerset West R44 From Mooiberge farm stall to Beuna Vista - 3 x attempted bike jackings reported...latest one yesterday afternoon 16:40. Mainly the commuters between S-west and Stellies are targeted by 3 youths... They seem to run off in direction of the farm stall and area behind it.

    I have it from pretty reliable sources that the Schapenberg trail is not maintained anymore...so chances are good that the signs (and others?) are actually not there!!! Now, we're opening a whole new can of worms!! Is the trail owner perhaps to blame?? He has a certain responsibility after all....

    This is so true...bring up one of my old point re: cycling with this and that and the other to protect yourselves... how much time did this guy have to counter-react...? not much...so how will a gun / mace / tazer have helped him in this situation? There were 3-4 of them...

    That is IF they are aware of thsi? My take would be (1) to use an old MTB specific phone...seems this might not be possible? (2) superglue the SIM card in place!! (for that matter also the battery?) (3) just hand over said phone if confronted... optional (4) get a posse together and lynch the muddaF.

    I at first also thought so...try and accelerate and gte away... BUT if you look closely - that dude would have been able to bump him off the bike ...the raod narrows to a gate of some sorts. #fokkers!!! Please tell me more about thsi phone tracking app? I thought GPS had to be enable to track a phone? apparently not... how does it work? do you pay a monthly subscription? All phones or only "new" ones? I want to get that feature...I always ride alone...
