  1. Go Gerald....!!!.....It is summer time...time for mud and tanline selfies
  2. I want to see all Evan's medals from all the events he has done. My hero
  3. You right.... up till eight am the forecast for rain is 50/50. After that it drops to 20% for the rest of the day, and then showers predicted for evening. 15 degrees for the day is comfortable riding temperature. The trails will be a bit wet, but this is mountainbiking. Are you coming?
  4. Hi everyone. Chainsaw and I are doing a 55km singletrack ride starting at the Greendale Spar tomorrow morning at 8.00am. We will be riding the singletrack through Howick trails to the Karkloof club for coffee and then back again. . Moderate pace. Climbing is around 900m, You are welcome to join us. Sorry for posting this ride so late, we were intending to road ride, but have changed our minds and want to mtb instead
  5. My patch is coming along nicely, however watering has got a little tricky. Since I took this photo the silly dove has laid another egg and turned broody. Now we wait and see. In the meantime I'm getting great biceps workouts carrying the watering can.
  6. Happy Birthday Handsome! xxx Luv Blondie
  7. This bed only gets sun half day. I think it might be too shady . Ill give it a try, Has anybody grown the heirloom Tigerella tomato? How does it yield and what is its resistance to fungal infections?
  8. Ive got going again. we are getting a massive bowl of gorgeous salad every day. I also have violas (they are edible) but I grow them in another bed. Ive got, spinach( regular and bright lights) beetroot, kohlrabi, butter lettuce, iceberg lettuce, red oak leaf lettuce, mustard, summer mustard, spring onions, leeks, peas, celery, watercress, rocket, thyme, fennel, rosemary and origanum. Wish I had more space for larger plants like tomatoes and brinjals
  9. If I penciled my eyebrows and put lipstick on before a ride I would look like this after about thirty minutes.
  10. We will be having a 35km ride this Saturday Morning starting at 7.30 from the Fainting Goat at Greendale Spar. Anybody keen to learn the trails or join for fun is welcome. We will be doing the runs down bonga bonga, rush-a-lots and the gums and then pop over the currys post road and finish down Gregs. Climbing will be in the region of 900m. Trailfee is R40.00 and indemnitys can be signed at the Fainting Goat.
  11. It is awesome, but pasop if its wet, clay soil plus speed equals hugging trees. doing it as a night ride is also "interesting" .
  12. I have not done gums in a while. Now you have temped me. We did crank alley ,haibo, keytels, howies , bonga bonga dip all the way to the bottom of nyaga nyaga yesterday. The trails are so clean and the ground just sticky enough to grip the corners with the rocks nice and dry. Such good flow. The only bad part is when it is over and it is time to climb again .
  13. For sure. But generally I think miles logged are inversely proportional to daily hub post count
  14. Welcome. Most of us here are casual riders too so you are in good company.
  15. Stretch did you go to a Nyotaimori restaurant last night?
  16. Sure. but you are just chicken. I still need to get you back for pushing me into a puddle and then throwing my waterbottle in the bush
  17. Ag nee....you REALLY slow....... everyone knows who lexx is *FACEPALM*
  18. Ive given up on you. I have new, fast cycle buddies now.
  19. This is a long shot, but if there is any way the darkhorse wheels could be adapted to fit my track bike I will be deleriously happy. I raced kzn champs this year with the halo aero rage wheels and medaled a few times, but in a game where fractions of a second count some carbon tubbies would really make the difference. I would really like to do better next year. If having these wheels on my track bike are not an option, my road bike could do with some love too♥
  20. In the ten years Ive had Purdy (got her from the spca) she has scratched her way through my (correction....HER) entire house. The day granny kitty passes I will be very sad and then go buy the leather couch Ive been dreaming of to cheer myself up
  21. They have you well trained.
  22. This is my granny kitty Purdy. She has a hard life. As the sun moves she has to keep moving over and eventually by 11am she is usually hanging onto the last rays while balancing on the edge of the day bed.
  23. The top pic looks like a yin/yang symbol
  24. Years ago we had a field mouse ( Those cute ones with stripes on their backs) that we would catch in the kitchen and then go put in the veld over the road....a few days later it would be back.....we repeated this process a few times. We either had a homing mouse or an infestation Anyway one night Chainsaw cornered it in a cupboard. So okay.... my hubby was a bit annoyed so he took the pellet gun and shot it in the cupboard. One tiny mouse exploded all over my Chemistry study books. ( I was studying correspondence at the time)
