    Hobbies

I tried trout fishing a few weeks ago and again this past weekend. The bug is biting. I can really get into this. But I need some serious casting practice on the lawn to get my line out further.
  2. Life is a funny thing.....divorce is one of those things you never expect to happen to you until it does....and often it is no ones fault really..either somebody changes or they dont change...both things can be the problem. Sometimes many years later things just dont work anymore..... once the hurt feelings are put aside and the kids are put first it is easier to move forward. Landy...I hope all the best for you and hope the dust settles quickly....you deserve to be happy and in the end you will be.
  3. When I first started riding my everything was sore. After just riding more often over a period of three months I could do longer and longer rides and the discomfort became less and less. I now ride with standard mens saddles on all my bikes with no problems. I am basically suggesting a balance between a good bikfit...a decent saddle and just time to let the tender bits toughen up.
  4. If it is a scorching hot windy day and I choose to ride my mtb in the sappi forest in the shelter and shade am I a wus for not suffering in the sun while being blown off my bike? And when it has poured with rain for days and the sun finally comes out am I a wus for riding my roadbike because I really dont feel like stripping my mtb to clean loads of mud afterwards? Hi..im blondie. And Im a bike slut. Ill ride whatever bike suits at the time.
  5. My favourite of the the ladies options is the black one. It does look good. ????
  6. I think I have the record for abstaining from strava the longest...Im going onto four months now.....????
  7. Hi there! Next year we must have another challenge so that some of us can try again. ????
  8. Well done to everyone who have stuck to the challenge even if they missed a few days here and there. Cant beleive the year is nearly over and the challenge is coming to an end. Ill redeem myself on next yearschallenge!
  9. Take the time to warm up properly before on rollers. Start easy, relax your mind and get your head in the right space. Build up to a few high cadence spinouts. I like the 20m warm up and the spinout session on the british trackcycling website. You need your legs to be firing at 100 percent from the start with your mind relaxed and focused to make quick decsions so you can race smart. Good luck.
  10. If your wife did " get it " she would probably be a passionate cyclist too. Your cycling budget will be halved instantly. rather have her oblivious to the pleasures of sexy smooth shifting and keep the budget to yourself. Just saying......
  11. Ha ha. I think Im officially in the prehistoric age now. Im still riding a 26.
  12. I'm going to need time to get used to seeing cassettes that look like dinner plates. When I picked Chainsaw up at the sani finish I saw so many of them. Just looks weird.
  13. It is not just mtbers on mtbs in road races that are the problem. Mtbers on roadbikes also make me nervous. If I see knees and elbows sticking out the sides all over the place I stay the hell away. Keep it neat and tight or get out the bunch.
  14. Hey be kind ....some of us are new roadies. Still trying to figure out how to ride a bike. Only took the visor off my helmet a a year ago. Progress has been a bit slow but I'm getting there.
  15. I prefer the leg warmers. Got a great black pair that I only use for about two months of the year. Quick 'fashion' question......should your leg warmers be the same colour as your arm warmers? This is seriaaas stuff...
  16. Talking about great ideas. This blue cookie monster shirt takes the cake. This is advertised as a ladies shirt. What every girl wants is a shirt that draws attention to her breasts and makes them look lobsided. I'm sure the designer must be male.
  17. True. It is about being true to yourself and not pretending to be something you are not. It is a pity that with events like the epic that are so expensive, that not all folk that are capable can participate. Sadly an epic jersey can end up saying more about your financial status that your physical fitness. If I had a choice between doing the epic and the freedom challenge I would choose the blanket anyday!
  18. I was referring to odinson's post .#84. I'm curious now about your reason........
  19. I'm starting to feel sorry for "Johnathan".
  20. I went seed collecting in the mountains today. Came across an old barbed wire fence which had caught about twenty 'tumbleweeds' These come from a beautiful bulb that flowers in the spring. All the seeds were gone, blown away by the wind. Missing you Barry xxx
  21. My son made a face like this at the end of the year school nativity play. He was Joseph and was adamant that his robe he had to wear was a dress. I vote this guy would rather be wearing something else, maybe in pink lace
  22. I'd be very careful if I were you. Your lady reads the hub and I'm sure you still sleeping on the couch after your "pay as you go" comment. You really shooting yourself in the foot here.......
