Sun block on the exposed bits is the easy part, getting the right amount of self tan on the covered parts my body to get an even colour all over is just hectic. Too much stress. It is like paint by numbers, except I keep smudging over the lines!

Pain is relative. Any man that has done national service and is aquainted with an "oppies'' and any lady who has delivered without drugs will not be moaning on a big hill. Its just understanding that discomfort and "I nearly died" are two camps that are light years apart. One skill that needs to be learn't is that when you are hurting to just shut up. There is nothing more irritating than riding with someone who moans constantly, everybody is hurting just suck it up.

A little off topic but with talk of remembering 9/11 because it is again that time of the year, lets spend a thought remembering all the dogs that helped. Their contribution is often forgotten.

Here is another thought.....Many cyclists upgrade every few years and resale value certainly needs to be considered when purchasing a new bike. I'm not sure how easily second hand fake-a-rellos sell for, but I dont think they sell for much. Its like buying a toyota, a bit pricey compared to others, but you are gauranteed good resale in a few years time. The first thing a discerning buyer in the classifieds will ask for is a serial number. I for one, have compromised and have chosen to ride a second hand bike, simply because I would rather have a quality second hand bike than a mongrel new one.

The routes are really well marked. 10km, 20km, are not technical at all. The 30km and 15km falls loop are a bit more technical. I enjoy linking these two trails together. The outback trails are 60km+.

I've also never had problems, just once, I wanted to wear my favourite pair of pants and the chamois was not quite dry yet. I took a chance and grabbed it off the line. BEEEG mistake, 60km later in the saddle I was not my usual jokey self......to say the least.
