    Munga 2025

Look up the preventions for Shermers neck. Stronger core and stronger neck. We focus so much on pedaling and not enough on body conditioning for ultra events. I raced for 13 days straight earlier this year(2-4 hours sleep a night). No back pain at all, no neck pain at all, no tingling hands or numbness, no pain anywhere in fact. I can safely say that this was because I had really done the hard work on conditioning my core, neck and the rest of my body...
  2. If the rules don't work for you, no one is forcing you to use bikehub you can stick to other platforms. You can't step onto a soccer field and ask the ref to tie up the other players because of you are not prepared accordingly.

more like when someone is neglecting their core workouts and actual training so they go ridiculous on their setup to make up for it.
  4. even the dairy industry is ahead of that game. The cows necklaces are closer to Garmin Fenix life tracking technology. Heat detection, activity tracking, eating etc...
  5. kant remember a f.... thing about them to be honest.... Sorry couldn't resist that joke....
  6. other option if you are specifically looking for ultra endurance pants then forget your run of the mill brands. Import some PedalEd or albion bibs, they have 3 pocket versions which are great for long days out...
  7. I used Castelli Competizione for silk road mountain race and all training leading up to it. I wore one pair for first half and then swapped to new pair of exactly the same bib shorts at 1100km in but really that was because of sanitary reasons not because they were not comfortable still. 0 bum issues, not even a single saddle sore. They are a slim fit and they advice sizing down a size when you order even. I still have both race pairs and apart from the odd hole from barb wire and a crash falling asleep they are still perfectly usable.
  8. Same as dirtbikes, sxs and quad bikes, you just selling them to people for non road use. Nothing illegal there
  9. WSAR does do some amazing things locally. There are a few other reasons one could want insurance. I had to buy insurance for emergency extraction for an international event recently, because there is no WSAR type option in the country I was visiting. I also know a few guys who had to bail off big mountains and it is not a cheap exercise. Locally I have also used other services here and there. 1 of which is Rocket aviation, then if the sh...t hits the fan you know a helivac is on the way. For R75 a month it is a nice peace of mind if you are the kind of person who likes getting into sticky situations for fun. kayak trips, big hikes across the berg, etc
  10. 100 hour fork service is an absolute nightmare if you doing any serious training.
  11. Its because the clothing is no longer primarily functional, but more about fashion than function. Marketing fashion is purely about pulling the wool over people eyes(sometimes literally not just figuratively). Proof of that is the hairy underwear released recently that sold out in a matter of days world wide
  12. I have said it before and i have said it again. If you don't think people on here and people in your riding groups are not buying parts of stolen bikes or stolen bikes/watches. You are lying to yourself...
  13. https://www.themountainraces.cc/silk-road-mountain-race Dates are released, applications to enter open on 21 November. Just in case anyone is itching a little
  14. Albion has a reflective cargo vest. Super light if you wear it empty, but you can add a bladder in there or anything you want to carry as well. Just $$$$ https://www.albioncycling.com/products/visibility-cargo-vest-black-reflective
  15. Look, the husqvarna, triumph and gasser websites are also banned. I am even doing my best to avoid fb marketplace which is even more dangerous because there are series II land rovers on there as well...
  16. I have a self imposed ban on going to the ktm website. I am too close to buying a 250xcw and I really shouldn't be buying one and if I am not looking at the forbidden fruit then the odds of my lack of self control failing me are much lower...
  17. and this is why we are getting the ring torn on bike prices, your perceived value is way higher than the actual value so they have a market
  18. Easy decision if I had 400k lying around.
  19. whatever the physio told you to do. Do it lots now and then at least once a week for the rest of your life... By shoulder is bad, but it would have been better if I did a lot more work the first 6 months after the first dislocation. Now I have lost count of dislocations and there are certain movements I just don't even bother doing and other motions feel like worn rust bearing in the shoulder.
  20. you can run gx axs on an nx cassette
  21. My current bike has GX AXS and Sram Level. I would definitely do the GX AXS Upgrade, bomb proof and shifts perfectly. I would not install sram level brakes, the clearance is just too tight in my personal opinion, slightest bend in brake disc and they drag. I am currently looking at those lovely new low profile XT M8220. Makes brake cable routing so neat I would skip the brake upgrade, there is nothing wrong with slx and then I would look at hubs or hoops rather. nothing quite like carbon rims to change the way a bike feels
  22. at least Freedom challenge has released an awesome tough gravel bike packing version of Freedom challenge at a really competitive price for next year...
  23. I think a lot of major events are dropping off because people just can't afford the exorbitant entry fees. I literally went overseas to do a race partly because it was cheaper than doing local events. I do think we have a great opportunity for gravel here, we certainly have plenty of gravel roads in varying conditions. I am glad they have put in the effort and I hope it gains the notoriety of Epic, I just hope it doesn't go down the road where it is out of reach for the average salary mtb rider...
  24. dare I ask, why?
  25. That is a pretty incredible field especially for a first event. The more you look at the list the better it gets, some top end triathletes in the mix as well
