NOT where we live.
Local bike workshops are having their queitest year in DECADES.
The local ZA shops facing multiple issues esp in the Gauteng area I spose. Loads of folks are emigrating/semi grating and I guess the folks doing so are the ideal LSM for bike shops.
not a single shop in a 10 mile radius of me has closed down. And there quite a lot of bicycle shops in the area.
One thing I wanted to mention, I had folks around so did not have the sound on but it looked like the spurs goalie was impeded at times. Refs must sort that out I reckon.
but as I said , I had no sound, just pictures.

2 howlers let them back into the game but they were never really in it. Arsenal are a force.
And I eat humble pie, a lot of it. These hallowed pages will bear testimony to me saying Arteta should be fired. Good thing the directors at Arsenal did not follow my thinking.

Lots of positives in that article. It’s not a sky falling on your head article. 1.55 million bicycles sold in a year post Covid boom, 5.4 billion pound industry. There’s gold in them there Surrey hills.
Cycling industry is going through a reboot after Covid, but the prognosis is good if not great and the cycling shops still smousing 10 grand plus bikes. The clever ones will thrive, the not so clever ones won’t. Try to book a bike in for a service and it’s at least a 6 week waiting period.

I was a little oblivious about the topic so I went looking for some studies that actually tested this and not just normal manufacturer talk trying to sell more gear. I am including the links below but curious as to others experience? Also, just a caveat, this is not discussing helmets that have taken big hits.

Time alone will degrade materials over a long period of time and depending on how they have been stored. However, what does degrade a helmet is usage.
For the most part it’s marketing blurb designed to liberate you from your cash. And we lap it up. Of course. Gotta have the best.
that said I would be hesitant to buy a second hand helmet as the history of it is impossible to determine.

Welllll .... MOST have been saying this. There are the odd Hubber hell bent on telling us that the PREDICTIONS show a growing market, and that it is all good and well.
Well, the statistics are there for all to peruse.
Some folks should refrain from purchasing bitcoin, it will do their head in.

During Covid a mate of mine bought a high end Trek e bike, paid 5700 for it. Demand was there and well the pricing milked the scenario. After Covid and when supply was restored the same bike was a grand less.
short term profit over long term sustainability has its consequences.

Mmmm , a little more to the story than initially thought.
After Chelsea’s drubbing this week, talk is bye bye poch.
makes sense. Billion pound squad and not very good. Jackson is a disaster.
Sadly I see the pure and cool roadhouse is burning out/ burnt down.
now, what would that have to do with motorcycles. Well, us older folks will remember the shenanigans back in the 80s there. What memories.

“Big bicycle industry company”. Really?
Do you remember the Pioneer power meter lot. Stopped production moons ago, long before your theory of doom and gloom.
what we fail to realise is that even in boom times companies fail to stay afloat. For a variety of reasons but mostly due to bad business models and failure to read the market and company and products). Even during the cycling boom chain reaction was making horrific losses and Evans was downsizing. Evans was clever though and saw the market trends early. Ole Mike Ashley is much maligned but an astute businessman.
despite Stages hitting the wall, folks are still buying 325 grand pinnarello’s and 300 grand Spez bicycles. And manufacturers are still making them.
however, we need to be cognisant of the fact that cycling as we know it is relatively niche, but cycling itself is universal. It will thrive. So buy that dikwiel and cycle on.
when I was in the telecoms industry dealing with ICASA was a bloody nightmare.

Despite the various mods I would return from a ride and feel …….well, nowt! A CBX 1000 of similar value was calling my name and arguably the CBX is a way better investment! In fact, not arguably, factualy!
And then the red and white tart and I took a 400 km ride on mixed tar/dirt and she revealed her strong points. Now, baring in mind I have a KTM 690 Enduro and an 1190 s ADV, this T7 proved to be the perfect mixed medium tourer for me. So her place in the stable is ensured, so much so, that the suspension has been removed by Yamaha George and sent to CT to Martin Penfold Suspension to be re valved and adjusted to my weight. I have sole the Black Widow end can and replaced it with a Remus system. Slowly building it into an inclusion in my final bike stabel !
If I was to do long way round, or long way down or long way somewhere it would be on a T7. Can’t fault them for that. They perfect, reliable, fuel efficient and 72 horses more than enough.
mate of mine had a KTM 790 adv. lovely bike and very capable. At 16 000 miles he took it for a service and they determined the cam shafts are worn. Replaced at a cost to my mate. He decided to investigate this and it seems a very widespread issue. Almost like the Honda VF saga and later the Ducati 916 issue.
A bit of research shows this is a big problem for all 790/890/901 motorcycles up to around 2023 year of manufacture. Newer bikes just not done the mileage yet to see if the new motors have the same issue.
KTM ain’t replacing under warranty.
WSBK race today was like the heydays of super bike racing. What a race. Watch it if you can.

I never played it much but I played a lot of Tetris back in the day. I even started dreaming I was playing Tetris and realised it was no good for my mental health so quit. 😂
I have a thing for churches. Anyway , today I was on my way to Dorking brewery for a pint and Lo and behold I rode past this church. Had to take a few snaps. The vicar was mowing the lawn so had a good chat too. Built in 1890.
I have lived in the area for 7 years and first time I have seen it. Magnificent.

One could use Boeing as an example hey. Oh wait.
