Yip I'm also thinking of only doing the race each day, camping is gonna be flippen cold ! I was thinking of driving through from PTA each day, but you def have a better idea with your friend that stays close to VG.

Love my Formula R1's, RX are great value ! I would venture to say that unless you are a gram counter the RX will perform just as well for allot less $

Ran past a Mozam spitting cobra in Groenkloof a while back. It was on the red part of the hiking trail in the "valley floor" area near the tar road. It must have been next the trail as I just heared a rustle next to me and kept running but looked back to see it rearing up a meter or so behind me. Tried taking a pic but it was very fuzzy. I keep telling myself it was the low light

Never had issues on the klapperkop road itself, there has always been police present there when I was riding, sometimes even 2 vehicles. That can be good or bad depending how you view it.... Only ran the trails once before but would be hesitant to do it again. I really think they need to link this with Groenkloof, Voortrekker Monument and Fountains or something like that so it's fenced with security and requires paid entry to make it more secure.

Thanks, they definitely are milking us, but ag it's a goal I've set so I can stay focused, so I'll shell out this time don't mind. Friend that is onvolved told me they have about 40 enties for 3 day event so far.

Look I also feel it's over-priced, but I have long wanted to do an event of this nature and there aren't options close by Gauteng besides the Fountains one. The others are all much farther and I'm sure more expensive and tougher ?

Perhaps he should put one below the seat to the rear rather to video traffic coming from the back. My problem with bike mounted cams is the camera doesn't show the whole story : you can't see if he is signalling etc.
