  1. Cool will definitely go check it out
  2. Ag nee man so unnecessary ! RIP riders
  3. Can't really help much, though I know that the Garmin usesd .fit files, not sure what the Bryton uses
  4. Looks cool, so what's it about ?
  5. My choice would also look at if you want to use UST or foldable tyres, as Stan's are made for the latter. While some of the other wheels are UST wheels (rims) so fitting should be less of a hassle
  6. Thanks to Squier I just purchased part one of my SS project. Will be using the frame and what ever else I can find or use from the bike
  7. Last time I checked Bester Cycles in Waterkloof had a set of Vittoria Cross tyres, give them a buzz
  8. Oh ok cool thanks. No more bridge incidents please
  9. Jip Joel Hieber is the current No.1 in under 8min. Having never ridden at the park, how is the lap ? Hilly, rocky, flowing etc ?
  10. Going to visit this place again from 13Jan, this time with trailshoes, running shoes and a road bike in addition to the mtb. Should be fun ! Any specific road routes to do in the area ?
  11. Yeah I really need to ride there allot more, only been there twice which is a crying shame ! The Magalies Adventure totally blew my mind
  12. With you on that, AFIK anti-venom is made by injecting horses with the venom so it forms anti-bodies that combat the venom (feel free to correct me here) so basically the anti-venom is more venom and needs to be of the specific snake I would think one can try suck out as much of the venom as possible and then make some kind of tourniqet (sp?) to stop it spreading further. Heat or cold can also be applied but that differs per venom type.
  13. I really like the Falke road cycling socks, length is good and its thin with good ventilation. The road running sock is also excellent (the unpadded version) However their mtb and trail running socks are horendous ! Sockguy socks also suck, they dont fit well and irritating toe seems. Shimano makes some reall nice mtb sock - padding underneath and vented op top, the road type socks don't work well when you need to do some walking on mtb rides. First Ascent makes the best trail running sock I've tried - no seams on the sides of the toes, well vented on top of the foot, padded underneath. Bamboo and merino wool mix, have walked 6h and run 2,3h in groenkloof no problem
  14. Groenkloof is sharp, I would stay clear of fountains though as the fence is dodgy near the railway and people can gain access that way
  15. Love this ! What it needs are some Ti Eggies, THM Claviculas or the like, R1 brakes modded with carbon lever and Ti bolts, single Tune Wassertrager (sp) cage, foam grips, scrubz rotors, kmc x10sl chain and then drop the bar ends I would love to own and a build a project bike like this. Weight Weenie approves.
  16. Hey all Seeing as Christmas is almost upon us, I though a thread with cool christmas deals or gift ideas would be a cool idea. Maybe have catagories or price classes ? I'm looking for some sort of sound system for my dad to go with the lcd TV, anything on that front ? Looking to go Stereo with an amp, about 5k budget. Room is not very big, will be for TV/Blu-ray/Music. Also any cool cycling gagdget under R250 ? Thanks, WW.
  17. Verry happy with my H14, had the H7 but found it a bit under powered. Use it with a MJ808E on the bars. Also use it for running, works a treat with the extension cord and the battery pack stored in my running pack.
  18. So I'm sure you or someone else has done something stupid today, you know those total facepalm moments ? Post them here, I'll start.... Today I tried activating our DSTV. Without the smartcard in the machine
  19. NB makes different widths - 2E is the wider one and then there's a 4D I think which is even wider. Half sizes are to conform with EU sizes as I understand, nothing to do with width ie. I wear a 44EU in 2E width = 10US, 9.5UK.
  20. ZTR rims are made to use normal folding tyres, so considering you are doing the Epic I think XTR rims that are UST tubeless with UST tyres would be the safest bet with the least hassles on the route.
  21. CRC - got their own brand tri-suit for about R400 landed here. Fine for short sprint up to maybe Olympic events
  22. I would say take them with to a proper running shop like the Randburrg/Linden runner and explain your needs, maybe they can recommend something more suitable or the same but cheaper If you want the same shoes - here's a better deal http://www.thesweatshop.co.za/the-shop.html?page=shop.browse&category_id=30
  23. Great, now please get him to start organising some 'Cross races in SA
  24. Is that 77 or 7 hours ? Oh and is it branded as in the original entry PDF we received ? Getting excited now
  25. Trying Recovermax currently, had used PVM Re-ignite before that for a while, like it but it's not cheap and also the taste is very similar to their Octane drink so one tends to be gatvol of the taste after a long session, so the more "milky" taste of the Recovermax works well for me there. Did a long ride on the road bike today so will see how the Recovermax does, 1st time using it properly.
