  1. Hey all Wildtrail and Hadianga Farm in Olympus, PTA hosts a social and time trial run every wednesday at 6pm at the farm, entry is R5. I'm keen to give it a bash tonight, have some new shoes to try. So who's joining ? WW.
  2. Well I'm a huge Formula fan so I would say look at the Formula The One
  3. Vinny - I'm still in Open Male but unofficially we can race eachother
  4. Looked at the carb content of a serving the other day and it was really low IMO, like 12g. Do you guys eat stuff with the Game or use gels etc ? Doesn't seem like one would get sufficient energy from Game alone, unless you drink tons of it ?
  5. What are your needs ? Budget ? Type of riding ?
  6. My uncle recently cracked his Scott Scale RC 26" frame and they had no issues replacing it and it was done very quickly at that, even through a non-scott dealer where he bought it as well. So my vote would go to Scott. I had enless issues getting a replacement frame of my GT Zaskar so aftersales is NB to me. Otherwise you might as well buy 2nd hand or online....
  7. I was at Groenies on Saturday should have joined. Lekker deur die dinges ! Look forward to racing and checking the course next week. Vinny what cat do you race ? Oh and the little Twitter birdy also told me that a certain local XCO champ is racing, hopefully I can get an autograph this time...
  8. SOrry I totally forgot about this Let me know when there is another clean up
  9. Seems to be a mindset/mentality issue more than anything else. People will exhibit the same behaviour no matter what vehicle they use. Also seems people aren't sure how to react to cyclists on the road and misjudge how fast you can actually go. A little education on this during learners licenses could maybe help but doubt that would ever happen I try my best not to ride like an idiot or drive like one for that matter and I always have proper led lights on the bike if I ride on roads, even on the mtb. Find it funny how fellow cyclists and even the guy at the lbs chirp me about lights in the day time. The more you can do to be visible the better !
  10. Thanks will check it
  11. My old Nokia 5230 at Crystal Springs. Set up the shot with the phone on a rock on its pouch with the self timer. The view was a nice reward after all the climbing
  12. Seeing as I use mine for training it must be heavier or equal to my mtb. Thus wire tyres, slime and tyre liners
  13. My thoughts exactly ! J-Bend vir die wen
  14. Agreed if it's anything like the 26" version. However they are a pure race wheel so you would need something cheap to train on
  15. Great initiative here guys ! Will do all of them if I can, bar maybe the 1st one, don't think I'm exactly ready for such intensity yet but we'll see hopefully training picks up a bit Will try bring some buddies to compete against, last provincial I did here there were only 3 men in the Elite class How are the entries looking ?
  16. Entry level tri bikes by Giant and Fuji aren't too expensive, maybe give them a look ?
  17. This saturday the 7th ? Think I should be available to help. Is there a reason for the 2:30 start though ? Dit gaan moer warm wees !
  18. Would be keen, let me know some more details and what happens
  19. Very happy with my KCNC SC Bone handlebar, no issues with 3 years of usage. Weighed in at 116g I think for the uncut bar in OS clamp size
  20. Can;t speak from experience as I'm on a 26" bike but I think the Maxxis Ardent with the EXO sidewall protection should offer the grip and protection you need. Paired it with an Ikon or Aspen on the back and you should be laughing mate
  21. Problem with the marketing is the huge lead time that magazines need, around 3 months I think the artwork needs to be in before the actual ad is run in the mag. Also creates a pull effect from the customer, which is good for them but sucks when you can't get hold of it.
  22. Hmmm seems The Hub resizing the pic screwed it up a bit, how can I post the full size ?
  23. This seems like it could be applicable
  24. Thanks for all our hard work ER24, it's really appreciated !
  25. I am using Compressport R2 leg sleeves for running and recovery and I am very happy with their fit, performance and quality. Can't comment on any other brands as I haven't used them. I would recommend sleeves and not socks as leg and foot size do not always corelate.
