  1. I"m not riding at the moment, so want to go run there sometime. Anyone know if these are dual-use trails or are there running/hiking trails there ? WW.
  2. And I see Thursdays at Spur is all you can eat ribs as well
  3. Ok sweet that will help allot thanks dudes ! Did post on the safety forum but please be aware that there is a man-made hole in the fence by Eeufees drive near the gautrein bridge, possible hi-jack spot. Did notify the guards but not sure what is being done...
  4. Eish any updates ?
  5. Went running in Voortrekker Monument today. No issues but please be aware that there is a large hole in the fence near the Gautrein bridge on Eeufees road. The hole is at about hip length and perfect for a person to climb through and thus I'm pretty sure it's made by vagrants climbing through to sleep there/poach/get water/mug people. I did make one of the guards at the gate aware of the matter (and will follow it up) but please guys do be vigilant if you go there, there may be more such "entrances" that one is not aware of. ww.
  6. Ok guys please help me out here. I ran there today trying to figure out the routes : Started at the "start" sign. Went onto blue jeep track then took the black turn of down an embankment and went right which turned into green singletrack. Followed the singletrack where I could, doing the blue jeeptrack where needed. I got 10km that way. How does one ride to get the distances mentioned ? I would love to run 20km here but seems it will need to be on the bike tracks (which I don't like doing) as I could only find a few kays of walking marked trail the other day. Please have a look at my garmin file here http://connect.garmin.com/activity/164161599 Thanks WW.
  7. So no EXO sidewall it seems ?
  8. The new Asics Trail Running tighs look sweet but the grey colour might look a bit funny on the bike. I have a Cape Storm pair and really happy with them, running and cycling wise. Tried the first Ascent but they were too long for me unfotunately.
  9. I have wide flat feet and the Spez carbon pro shoes work a treat for me ! Though if you had SIDI shoes I think the Spez will be too wide for you, as the SIDI tends to run narrow. For bargains give the Bargain Basement website a try, drastically reduced prices !
  10. But I do have my scale handy
  11. Dunno, don't wear it when riding
  12. And lube it up ! I doubt any bibs will be comfy if there is constant sweaty arse on material movement going on over 4+ hours
  13. Suunto M1. Cheap cheap but suites my lifestyle and style well
  14. I have 3 pairs of the Nitro's I got when they were cheap when they launched. - The Printing will start peeling quite quickly. - The mens small is not small, well maybe for people in SA but I wear about a size 30 and they saggy in the chamois area, so check your sizing. - Have done lots or road and mtb rides with including stage races like magalies spending 6 hours in them, no issues. I have a pair of the FA shorts, the previous design where the legs were short so they look like girly shorts. I have a medium and the fit is great, much more of a euro sizing they use. I would say try the FA bibs as they are cheaper and easier to find that CS and fit better IMO. Then I have the previous model Matrix bibs, which I've had since 2009 now. My absolute favourite bibs, I will ride them till they fall apart
  15. I need to join on of these again, it's been a WHILE
  16. Ja ja you guys should give trailrunning a bash it's really awesome I'm training for the Magalies Mayhem 3 day trail run at Van Gaalen's so need to get the miles in
  17. I saw DC Rainmaker got water/condensation in his. Anyone know how/why ?
  18. Yip I'm also thinking of only doing the race each day, camping is gonna be flippen cold ! I was thinking of driving through from PTA each day, but you def have a better idea with your friend that stays close to VG.
  19. I'm just a gear head so I like bike parts and kit and gadgets and stuff. So light bikes are awesome, it means I can spends hours reading reviews and weighing stuff
  20. You called ?
  21. untick the box that says follow roads,it's on the right
  22. So anyone decided to do it ? I'm still keen and training is going well
  23. I'm keen to go run there, how is the safety if I go alone ?
  24. Love my Formula R1's, RX are great value ! I would venture to say that unless you are a gram counter the RX will perform just as well for allot less $
  25. Ran past a Mozam spitting cobra in Groenkloof a while back. It was on the red part of the hiking trail in the "valley floor" area near the tar road. It must have been next the trail as I just heared a rustle next to me and kept running but looked back to see it rearing up a meter or so behind me. Tried taking a pic but it was very fuzzy. I keep telling myself it was the low light
