  1. Confession: I sometimes dream about this bike. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  2. I did my fitness assessment on 4th January. They told me to wait 7 days for points to register. After 7 days I called to ask why my points haven't been allocated, they told me to email my query through. Emailed my query through, it took 3 days for a response telling me to send them my results. Now I'm waiting another 3 days for them to look at my results. Anyway, two weeks later and I am still holding off the shoe booster until the fitness test is resolved. 3. Or an HR monitor that can link to the iHealth app to record an activity. (I'm not speaking from experience, but on paper this should work)
  4. Fixed: Reasons why BMI is stupid in RED: BMI is a massive generalization in itself. Apparently even the guy who came up with the BMI formula 200 years ago said "it could not and should not be used to indicate the level of fatness in an individual". So you say that 1/10 people are incorrectly classified as 'overweight'? Are you sure? I have heard that 97,31% of all stats are made up. That being said, studies have shown that 30% of people with a BMI of less than 25 are actually overweight. There are better ways of determining if a person is overweight or not. Vitality should develop their own formula taking into account height, weight, waist circumference, gender and body fat percentage using a skin fold caliper. This would be way less 'stupid'. BMI is a massive generalization in itself.
  5. BMI is stupid simplistic and incoherent, but nonetheless here is how Vitality categorise it: 18.4 and less is considered underweight and you won't get points. 18.5-24.9 is ideal. 25.0-29.9 is overweight but they will check if your waist is less than 94cm for men or 80cm for women. 30.0 and up is obese and I don't even think they take your waist into account, unless you contact them and complain like Mark Pilgrim did. I can't remember the number for morbidly obese.
  6. It is supposed to be strictly for running shoes. But there is a chance you will get away with buying trainers in the first few months, before they tighten down and limit you to certain brands. Let us know if you try and succeed.
  7. You can still buy shoes that cost more than 2k and should get the R625 cash back of the R2.5k shoes. BUT Shoe Booster will only refund you a max of R125/month. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  8. Aha, comprende. I see a way to work the system. If you want to buy shoes that cost R2500, then make sure your wife doesn't buy her shoes in the same month.
  9. All this info applies only to the up front 25% cash back on purchase, not the the 12 months of earning your R1500 cash back in shoe benefit. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  10. And overhead squat and split squat and trendelenburg step down and push up. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  11. Not completely free though. You pay R375 for the fitness test and then you pay another R300 to activate the Shoe Booster. But still worth it IMO. Tip: Rather go for the High Performance Fitness Test. Same price if you can prove that you qualify (ie. 94.7 in under 3:30 or 45km MTB Race in under 3:00). You'll get a way more useful test and earn bonus points. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  12. The reason everyone is "paying" for the Fitness Assessment is so they can get the free R2000 shoes from Sportsmans Warehouse. You don't touch your toes, you have to lie on your back and try lift your leg past 90°.
  13. Haha, is LittleBen getting all defensive here? I ride 4-5 times a week and average 12-14 hours. Sure there are plenty more hours in a week to spend on BH. So I guess I'm actually too busy riding in the mornings, working from 8-5 and spending time with my family after hours to accumulate a 15k post count. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  14. Non-drive side BB bearing often tends to go first. I don't know if it is because the force applied aren't transferred as directly through the drivetrain or if it because it it more exposed to dirt. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  15. Jeepers. The post count of some of the old timers replying to this thread. I have been around for two years and only have 250 posts, compared to the 15k posts by everyone else I guess I am also more of a "side line" kind of hubber. Of maybe I just have better things to do, like RIDE MY BIKE!
  16. My non-drive side BB bearing was making a "ratchet" kind of noise this morning. First thing I checked was the left crank and it had a tiny bit of play from side to side. I just loosened the crack bolts to tighten the plastic pre-load cap. Problem solved.
  17. @bikehubber, I need me some new rubber to help me win some races next year #scottsportsafrica #maxxistyresSA #bikehubber
  18. If only Lyne-components had some Black Friday deals going.
  19. Yes please. Definitely have a mate deserved of a nomination.
  20. Do you take your bike to the LBS when you need to take your wheel off? Just take the lowers off yourself, it's so straight forward. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  21. The two main tips in the video have helped keep my FIT4 Float 32 running smooth for the last 12 months. Question though, where can I get a bag full of nylon crush washers locally? That's the only thing keeping me from whipping my lowers off every other month.
  22. Everyone is hating because the bikes are more expensive than most, but then when they see one up close/in person, they get a little jealous inside...because deep down inside they know that is a PROPER quality frame that is really attractive because of it's rarity.
  23. Hows that front brake hose routing, through the headset and toptube? And the rest of the cables look a right mess. 5010 got me drooling though.
