  2. If someone was to say that the only way that we will EVER be able to have singletrack in Tokai again, was for us to volunteer and remove the aliens ourselves, there might be a better response. But to be told that we cant ride there until everything has been cleared and the fynbos is reinstated and unicorns roam freely, and then watch as seemingly nothing is done (flame suit on) and aliens grown into insurmountable problems. The irritation levels will rise...
  3. Any tech wizards got anything to say?
  4. Things are indeed hotting up if droppers are making their way onto the World XC circuit Julien Absalon's BMC Fourstroke 01 with KS LEV CI dropper post http://cdn.mos.bikeradar.imdserve.com/images/news/2016/04/23/julien-absalon-2016-bmc-fourstroke-01-di2-5-1461367941939-1n1x805j5dudz-630-80.jpg http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/article/julien-absalon-bike-bmc-fourstroke-01-with-shimano-di2-and-dropper-post-2016-46913/
  5. #aliensmustburn (but in a controlled manner so that they don't burn too hot and destroy the precious fynbos seeds below) I am struggling to get my head around the alien pine forest being removed only to be replaced by a new and different one. And then the big fire And all the admin and politics after that All the while we cant ride there Please, oh please, can we fast forward a bit to where awesome single tracks are open. I am tired of riding to the Block House and along the front of Table Mountain. #Tokaimustrise
  6. Your eyes do not deceive you. It is a dropper-post, BoXXer, Marshguard vuvuzela. http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p6pb13412357/p5pb13412357.jpg
  7. Anyone with Specialized dropper seat post experience? Mine wouldn't stay at full extension on today's ride. It kept dropping an inch or so, every few minutes. Very frustrating. I am hoping that its just a cable tension adjustment, but didn't want to fiddle while riding in case I made it worse.
  8. I got them at the old price R650, so were fantastic value for money. Compared to other baggies, they are still well priced at R750. They felt comfortable and I forgot I was wearing baggies for most of the ride.I would definitely recommend them.
  9. Looking forward to trying these out tomorrow (my first baggie experience)
  10. Constantia Nek should be declared a disaster area. There was tree genocide last night and today. By rights, Tokai should be clear by tomorrow morning.
  11. My #beandoping socks arrived. So stoked!
  12. There are so many pics here, I dont know which to post. So just look at all of them http://www.pinkbike.com/news/chasing-trail-remy-absalon-video.html http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p6pb13391295/p5pb13391295.jpg
  13. Norco Optic 29'er with 110mm travel & 120mm fork or 27.5" wheels with 120mm travel and 130 mm fork. Carbon and Alu frames Seems like a lot of thought & detail went into these bikes http://factoryjackson.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Norco-Optic-1-of-25-2000x1333.jpg http://www.norco.com/optic/ http://factoryjackson.com/2016/04/14/norco-optic-27-5in-and-29in-ripper-unveiled/
  14. And here we have people manipulating their results to achieve points. Not in a dishonest way, mind you. But isn't this one of the reasons that Vitality did the whole crackdown in the 1st place?
  15. I saw a comment on a different website saying that with the wireless connectivity, you don't need the digital display because it would come up on your compatible Garmin. Not sure if that is correct, because I understood that the display doubled up as the brain box which included the charging port etc. Read more here: http://bike.shimano.com/content/sac-bike/en/home/news-and-info/news/di2-technology-lands-at-deore-xt-level-.html
  16. The XTR didn't excite me because of the cost, and even though this will also be expensive, I am filled with a need and a want. And a bit of lust...
  17. Waiting for these to appear before I make my order.
  18. Very sad about what I did to my Banana Watts this morning It was a small bush diving incident
  19. Much like their points awarded for being inside the correct BMI range. A very basic formula that doesn't take all factors into consideration, thus excluding a lot of people.

    Beautiful, but so expennies!
  23. This is a VERY underwhelming update. Some interesting comments after the article here: http://www.bikerumor.com/2016/04/08/mavic-goes-wide-w-new-crossmax-pro-elite-boost-spacing-wider-hookless-rims/
  24. Indeed! 'While the wheel size may divide opinion and continue to be shrouded in negativity – we’ve all heard the naysayers grumble, “29ers aren’t as much fun” and “You can’t corner a 29er as well as a 650b wheeled bike” – it still has its believers and for good reason. Get those big wheels packaged in the right frame with decent geometry and 29ers can be seriously impressive performers.' 25. It would be interesting to take this video and go back in time a few short years and re-open the debates about the capabilities of 29'ers. That would make for great Friday entertainment.
