  1. Awesome video with stunning scenery. Wish I could teleport myself there right now. Is that a Saffa flag jersery in the 1st few minutes? Looks like the female rider is wearing it.
  2. Sunrise this morning Table Mountain
  3. I got me some of these
  4. This belongs in the April 1st thread.
  5. One of today's better jokes http://road.cc/content/news/184613-why-man-wearing-kit
  6. Not today, but this past weekend - 3 trips to the Red Route at Harkerville. Such a great ride! (last time I was there was Dec 2012)
  7. I imagine that I am not alone in wishing that they would put an Android device alongside the iWatch. (Samsung Gear S2 has GPS & built in HR monitor) http://www.wareable.com/smartwatches/the-best-smartwatches-in-the-world
  8. Blockhouse sunrise (Its a bit blurry, but you get the idea)
  9. Bike are usually weighed ready to ride, otherwise what's excluded gets a bit silly (no pedals, bottle cages, sealant, small cassette, tiny discs etc). I remember Burry Stander posting pics of his 9.5kg Specialised Epic 29'er before the 2011 Absa Cape Epic. That was with pedals and a single bottle cage. My Giant Anthem was about 12.5kg (depending on tyres). I weigh 95-100kg, so I built the bike strong with Thomson & Hope parts with Arch rims. My alu Spez Camber (with dropper seatpost) is a kg heavier.
  10. I am not sure if I like this 2 tone black frame.
  11. Both my son and daughter started out on JD bugs at age 2. They figure it out very quickly and loved it immediately. The brake wasn't really used as their small hands weren't strong enough. They used their feet/shoes to get going and control speed. Helmets are mandatory. http://www.ks-cycling.com/dokumente/artikel/FotoGross/603-JD-13-BACHTENKIRCH-12-ZOLL-MINI-KINDERFAHRRAD-KIDS-ALU-LERNLAUFRAD-JD_BUG_BILLY-BLAU-L.jpg
  12. Double cream yogurt with a spoon of peanut or macadamia butter with a squirt of honey is a great afternoon snack. Cocoa powder in yogurt is a great late night snack too (for those trying to remain health/weight conscious)
  13. Sunrise from the Blockhouse this morning
  14. I hope they adjust the weekly targets on the rewards program as well.
  15. Macadamia butter has just about doubled in price as well

  18. Along with a nice write up on 2015 Campy Super Record http://cyclingtips.com/2016/02/campagnolo-super-record-2015-groupset-review/ http://images.cyclingtips.com/content/uploads/2016/02/C60_SRgroup-6.jpg
  19. Ok, so not applicable to me? Thanks. That's a much better answer than I got from Discovery Life via email.
  20. I stumbled across this on the website the other day I am a ‘Discovery Life’ client I use the ‘Vitality Active Rewards’ I am not sure if or how that relates to the ‘Vitality Active Rewards for Life’ And I don’t know if the two are linked through the ‘Active Integrator’ mentioned on the Discovery Life webpage. As a Discovery Life client, by linking your policy with Vitality Active Rewards for Life through the Active Integrator, you get a number of additional benefits
  21. If you head down Liesbeek Parkway past the Hartleyvale stadium, the bike lane starts on the sidewalk just after the Observatory traffic lights. That leads over the bridge and onto the formal green bike line that runs through Woodstock. Take a right over the Church St bridge and onto the bike lane that runs next to the BRT lane. That exits behind the Jaguar & Land Rover dealerships. You can then go straight towards the train station and up into the CBD from there. If you don't turn right on Church St, but continue straight along Lwr Main Rd, you enter the CBD past the castle on Strand Street. I know that some people go over Church St and onto the N1 and enter the CBD along the Foreshore. The say its fine. I say its crazy. If you leave early, traffic isn't too much of an issue. Going home the same way is another story. The bike lanes through Woodstock are pretty much un-ride able. Pedestrians are a big factor, and the wind makes it a difficult ride. Once you are over the Observatory bridge, you can ride on the sidewalk bike lane for most of the way back to Rondebosch.
  22. 'bit of an adventure' That's more of a description of taking my single speed the long way to the shops. 370km is more of an epic journey!
  23. The fences will probably remain, but I imagine that the signs will go back up again on Monday 7th March.
  24. At the top of Southern Cross Drive All very nicely sign posted (including where you cannot ride)
  25. Try this fat bomb recipe I used a few times Chocolate Fat Bombs.pdf
