  9. Absolutely incredible! Beautiful pictures too. I don't know exact details, but Rob had a huge wipe out recently. He is in hospital with cracked vertebrae (now plated together) and a cracked pelvis.
  10. OK. That works
  11. If its the Stage MX, then I could understand But if its a 110, then that sounds silly.

  13. From their Facebook page: Rim price in South Africa is aprox. R4900 for the marathon, and R5300 for the 35mm Trailwide 29 er
  14. A kit is available and you do need the special Giant threaded axle as you say, but not all frames are convertible. Lucky for you, yours is. Giant made several changes and upgrades to the new 27.5" bikes and left the older 29'ers as is.
  15. Not all frames are convertible 2015 Anthem 29'er is not, but the 27.5 frames are. I am quite bummed about that as it would have been a nice upgrade
  16. Not really a purchase, but the frame was replaced under warranty (I suppose that I did purchase the chain, cassette, rings, rear tyre, cables, wheel bearings, spokes, nipples and paid for the service & labour)
  17. It stops on a dime! As you and I discovered on Saturday morning in the dark (Edit: Typo)

  19. I don't understand the response from the race organiser From http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/spectator-causes-rowney-crash-at-drentse-8 The race organiser, Femmy van Issum, stated that an investigation into the cause of the crash has been opened but was not suggesting it was a deliberate act by the spectator. "I do not think there was intentionally. Nobody does such a thing on purpose, but I would like to get in touch with the person who has put his hand out. That way we can work out the insurance for Rowney. She is still a while off and female cyclists are simply not as well paid as men," says Van Issum.
  20. Here is a David Mecer creation in steel (Columbus Life & carbon fork) A new addition to our riding group (not mine)

  23. That was a good day out! A bunch of us rode to the start, and then to Hout Bay and back for coffee afterwards. That wind got a bit hairy in places though.
