  2. What sort of bearings or inners do rear mech pullies have? Do I need to be concerned about parafin getting in there? While lathering my chain in parafin, I am also nervous about it dribbling down into my BB. Are these valid concerns?
  3. Hey noobi It isn't a new shop, its Epic Bike Shop moving to where Organic Living used to be. Its a very nice spot and I will be very interested to see how they use the space. See below: Morning all! EXCITING NEWS! Just to let you know that the EPIC Bike Shop is moving to bigger and better premises just further up Gabriel Rd to 39 Constantia Rd, Plumstead. We are NOT closing down but rather expanding our facilities. We will be offering three times more than ever before, with bigger workshop & showroom, easier access from the highway and tons of parking. We will also have a coffee bar, massage and beauty therapy, and outside garden seating area and secure bike parking area. OFFICIAL OPENING: 11 August 2009 Once settled in we will be organising regular social rides, night rides and skills clinics. To assist us with diminishing the amount of Stock we have to move and to make our year end stock take easier we have lots of stuff on SALE at our current premises as of today...all marked goods are less 25%. Hope to see at least some of you soon Aylex& Lance

  7. I have been using the XT (M770's) for the last year or so and have had no problems (I am about 100kg's as well).
  8. Are the dropouts also carbon? If they are alu, one of them might be bent? Perhaps post a pic to show where the tyre touches the frame (with the Shimano wheel)
  9. Do you have stripped knuckles to show for it? The grease from your chainring teeth is a b!tch to get out from under your skin...
  10. And forego the 33 page long public flaying? Are you nuts? Did you forget which forum you are on? Here the rule is : "shoot first' date=' shoot some more, then ask the relevant people the right question"... [/quote'] And then gushing formal aplogies...

    Worth trying?

  12. Old Lemond is stirring up a hornets nest and making (not so) vague accusations that the Shleck Bro's, Conty, LA etc must be doping given thier performance on the climb to Verbier. Perhaps base your team on what Lemond has to say. http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/contadors-climbing-credibility-questioned
  13. I dont think it has too much to do with Trek. This is Lance and some fruity designers creating a series of one-off custom aberrations that get auctioned off for charity: http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/stages/hirst/
  14. Seeing as Ballan is current world champ, he gets the stripes. Dont know why he gets gold bits as well.
  15. In Italy, there is no such thing as too much bling
  16. Reminds me a bit of my mother in law's decoupage tissue box holder...
  17. Chris Willemse Cycles (CWC) Bridge Cycles Olympic Cycles Last time I was in these shops they seemed to have reasonable stock of a range of shoes. Are you an unusual shoe size that you cant find the right ones?

  19. Check out Gunn Rita's blog: http://www.cyclingnews.com/blogs/gunn-rita-dahle-flesja-diary She is winning races 4 months after natural birth! I imagine your wife's gynie will be the best person to give info in this regard. Your dear wife will of course make the final decision. My wife hasnt been on a bike since she found out she was pregnant with our first child about 3 1/2 years ago. Now with our second child 4 months old, I dont see bikes in her near future...

  22. I bought a steel rule a while ago, but missed the point a bit as it was in mm and not actually long enough. I would like to get me one of these.
  23. Ja, gotta say. That last picture deserves a bit of abuse. You must stay home if you have dysentery!
  24. If you are a 60kg rider on a 9kg hardtail, then not too sure where to go from there. If you are 115 rider on a 16kg full susser, then there are some options. Tell us about your situation. A lot of the answers here will be to eat less or go to the toilet... Try http://weightweenies.starbike.com/ for some pointers.
