  2. I have never been so tired that I needed 4 mattresses 🤣
  3. Changing the subject slightly - Does anybody know what sort of prize money there was for the teams ? (Not that I am in contention for any of it. Was just wondering) And then, is there ever a GC for team categories and full teams ? Racetec only shows overall position.
  4. And, I see that this final stage will be a Time Trial
  5. Is there a blooper reel ?
  6. No one was 'forced' to do anything. Group mentality chose those that option. That, and the 'we're in a race, so normal rules and common sense don't apply' mentality.
  7. Another incident on Table Mountain this morning. Not much info on the group message unfortunately.
  8. It's making the news overseas too It would be great if this led to more support and sponsorship https://road.cc/content/news/cycling-live-blog-29-november-2022-297703#live-blog-item-40613

  10. The Film came out last week. I will definitely be watching that after following her story https://www.instagram.com/moremiles_moresmiles
  11. Awesome! Please be sure to post pics of the bike when it's done
  12. As far as goodie bags from races go, this is the best one in many years
  13. Switching from low end alu wheels to high end carbon could probably trim 1/2 kg. Possibly 300 to 500g for a groupset Bars, stem and seatpost may differ 100g in total, if you did all 3, which is how the top end R200k bikes are a kg lighter that the R50k ones. But with a R50k budget, you can get a pretty solid bike that can be upgraded to suit your needs. Mine would be comfort and reliability, without being a total tank. Yours might be light and fast, without being crazy expensive.
  14. Before you commit to a particular choice, have you checked that there is stock in your size ? What does the Diverge weigh compared to the Trek (at the same price) ? The narrow rims on the Checkpoint would put me off, but otherwise it looks like a good build if you are looking at the SL 5. It is a 2x drivetrain, which is a good thing in my opinion... The Diverge spec is pretty basic, but it can take 47mm tyres. Checkpoint can take 45mm. The Bianchi looks good and the prices have come down but according to the reviews, its a very stiff bike. Might be great for races, but its not a comfortable touring bike. Tyre width is limited to 40mm. I don't know much about the Cannondale or Titan except for tyre clearance again. The Topstone is limited to 40mm and I think that the Switch can go up to 50mm or so. (I stand to be corrected) Components can be swapped out (at a price), but aesthetics must come into play at some point. My point of reference is my steel Mercer with 2x11 GRX and 45mm tyres. (No power meter at this point)
  15. Its a brilliant track. Kudos to the trail builders. If you do ride down, please be careful of the riders going up. I am not sure who gets right of way, but there are several spots where it would be hard to pass each other. I don't think that this is a single track in a trail park, where descenders get right of way. Not sure if this has been discussed before. As usual, common sense should apply. (but then again, sense doesn't seem to be that common these days)
  16. Correction! It's the one with the chain breaker. Nice!

  18. Ass Savers (not as cheap as the Decathlon options) Check your tyre clearance on your fork though. Mine is super tight with my 45mm tyres. https://ruggeddistribution.com/collections/ass-savers/products/ass-saver-big?variant=13356332318832 https://ruggeddistribution.com/collections/ass-savers/products/mudder-mini
