  1. Especially if they have to give back their prize money...
  2. In other news Strade Bianche Women Top-10: 1 Lotte Kopecky (Bel) SD Worx 03:59:14 2 Annemiek Van Vleuten (Ned) Movistar 3 Ashleigh Moolman Pasio (RSA) SD Worx 00:00:10 4 Katarzyna Niewiadoma (Pol) Canyon-Sram 00:00:19 5 Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (Den) FDJ Nouvelle-Acquitaine Futuroscope 00:00:24
  3. So, after a Time Trial dodging local commuters and vans on the course, this was Ellen van Dijk's response to her prize:
  4. I have been running those for a while and have been quite impressed so far. They remind me a bit of the ol' Gatorskins in their weight and perceived toughness. They are not meant to be racing tyres, but I am looking for reliability over weight and rolling resistance.
  5. Not a great performance given his high profile ride @ the Epic in a few weeks...
  6. Let us know what you choose in the end. And don't forget to update us with a review
  7. This seems like a good deal @ R9k https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/road-bikes/530339/bike-for-sale
  8. Ja, I did mention that along with the power meter. Burry also ran narrower bars, skinnier (probably thinner) tyres, narrower rims etc. Hence me wondering how the ride would compare. Old vs, New
  9. What saddle and bib did you get ? Pity that its only a mild improvement If you have had a proper setup done, you shouldn't need to make any further adjustments. (Well, theoretically...)
  10. It would be very interesting to do a side by side comparison of Beer vs Burry's Epic bikes. Not just in build, but how it rode. This was before dropper seatposts and power meters, but 9.46kg was quite impressive back in 2011.
  11. Possibly that one on the helmet, but the OP is looking for a 1000 lumen light (or two) I use the Bontrager Ion Pro RT light for road and MTB. 1300 lumen on my bars. I suppose it could go on your helmet too. https://www.trekbikes.com/za/en_ZA/equipment/bike-accessories/bike-lights/bike-front-lights/bontrager-ion-pro-rt-front-bike-light/p/22466/ The extreme lights combo looks pretty good: https://www.extremelights.co.za/collections/bicycle-lights/products/nifty-bicycle-light-free-spotter-rear-light-combo Perhaps run a Ryder light on your helmet: https://www.rydercycling.co.za/ryder-products/lights/900-lumen-front-detail I don't know how many lights will run full beam for 4 hours though. Do you need full brights for the full ride ?
  12. Oh boy. This looks like it will follow SUITS - awesome series that just went on too long.
  13. Apart from cranks breaking, the head of the shifter cable wears and eventually breaks off inside the shifter body https://www.instagram.com/stories/highlights/17878074307530020/
  14. There wasn't much of a sunrise, but this gap in the clouds made up for it
  15. My left Ultegra shifter also stopped working recently. I was told that I had to buy a pair, but luckily the warranty kicked in. Another stroke of luck, is that they actually had stock of that one, but not the right (which has been logged for replacement when stock eventually arrives).
  16. The Park Tool shipment finally arrived. I was most excited about this little item!
  17. He is lucky that is all he can complain about. What sort of fall out is there from the incident? Are the organisers to blame (I hope not) or was he being silly riding up to it like that ? (I think so).
  18. I am no medical expert, but this seems ridiculously premature. It feels like they are rushing his recovery for the sake of the press. It reminds be how they Sky/Ineos downplayed Chris Froome's injuries at the time. As we all know, he never regained that GT winning form...
  19. She is 15 years old Edit: I didn't know about figure skating vs finger painting either
  20. That would probably go well with this : https://www.effettomariposa.eu/products/caffelatex-bicycle-tyre-sealant 🤣
  21. You want your weight to be on your 'sit bones' not the 'soft tissue' in between. http://cyclingsisters.blogspot.com/2009/05/assometer.html Otherwise, some fancier bike shops have a saddle pressure mapping device to help you choose the shape of saddle that suits you. https://gebiomized.de/en/products/measurement/gp-bike/ https://www.cyclologic.com/news/2018/2/7/saddle-pressure-technology-a-message-to-both-riders-and-fitters
  22. Sounds l I agree with this Change your saddle before considering new shorts. My wife and her cycling group have been circulating articles lately: https://www.rouleur.cc/blogs/the-rouleur-journal/the-v-word https://duracellbunnyonabike.com/2018/12/28/flipping-flapmash/ https://www.rouleur.cc/blogs/desire-journal/how-specialized-s-mimic-technology-has-changed-the-game-for-women-s-saddles
  23. Season 2 is also trickling out
  24. Season 3 also underway (As much as I enjoy it, I hope that they don't drag it out for too long)
  25. I seems similar to the Tyrewiz https://www.sram.com/en/quarq/series/tyrewiz/tyrewiz?filters=&sort=Relevancy&page=1
