  1. Hi I have a solo entry for you. PM me.
  2. Event Name: Waterberg Extreme 330km | 26hrs When: 22 September 2017 - 23 September 2017 Where: De Wildt Adventure - Brits, North West Category: MTB The Waterberg Extreme mountain bike event will take riders and their support crews over 330km of farm and district roads from the rural Brits area in North West to Thabazimbi, through the scenic Waterberg Mountains. The race offers everyone who enjoys cycling a chance to participate in the ultimate single-stage mountain bike race in South Africa. For those new to mountain biking who want to enter as a relay team, or endurance athletes who enjoy the long-distance challenge, this event caters for you. The proximity of the start is within a 70km radius of Johannesburg, Krugersdorp, Pretoria and Rustenburg, making it an accessible location for Gauteng and the North West MTB enthusiasts to join this wonderful new event. Riders can enter a solo rider, two person relay team, or four person relay team. With the relay team strategy will be important to determine which stages should be completed by stronger/weaker riders. With that said, it is important to note that a rider in the 4 rider relay will still complete at least 145km, and in the 2 rider relay at least 200km. The event takes place on farm- and district gravel roads, with no real technical riding involved, some sections of the route does however comprise very thick sand and loose stones. The event will kick off the September long weekend, providing sufficient recovery time afterwards, before you need to return to work. Bring the family along and make a long weekend of it by staying over ‘till the Monday at one of the lodges near the finish in the surrounding Waterberg Mountains. Go to Event Page
  3. Agree, it is nice. I looked at the 735 (I think) which is a bit smaller, but there are loads of functions that are not included. Big is the new fashion thing, but its not for me...
  4. I really like them, just wish it was a bit smaller
  5. Glad you're sorted and didn't cost you too much. Make sure you don't use high pressure hoses around any bearings when you wash your bike (I'm not saying thats what you did...)
  6. Train as if you are doing the race, I'll guarantee there will be entries up for grabs closer to the time
  7. Thanx! Nice big groups
  8. How many riders were there today?
  9. Awesome! Thank you! I'll be there
  10. If its open for all, I'll definately join you! Do you advertise, of how would I get the details? I'd better put this in my diary, my memory sucks
  11. Thank you! I'll definately try it
  12. Would you mind sharing your route?
  13. Must agree with you... I can only manage 10ks in them comfortably.
  14. I've never been able to get comfortable in the Salomon '16s. Maybe I'll try the 2017s
  15. Would also like to know, or was it only a bit of a sad PR exercise...
  16. Commuting will make you strong!
  17. Please update us on the outcome
  18. Agree with this ^
  19. Oky, that's progress. Excessive play on the BB?
  20. Thanl you all!
  21. Thanx! I don't do facebook; will ask the SO
  22. Anyone done this before, and perhaps have a route profile?
  23. Gears wouldn't be that consistent. My guess - crank (BB) / pedals (in that order), as you said, most likely dirt
  24. Isolate the pedals - spin them around it own axle without turning the crank. If its the pedal(s), its usually due to dirt around the bearings Isolate the crank - turn the crank without hoding the pedals, so the pedals do not turn on their axles. I suspect the click is around the BB. It might be that these issues only show up under power. Rachet/grinding could also be from a loose/dirty/worn BB in general. Try and progressively eliminate parts to try and find the culprit(s)
