    I've probably ridden around the outside of NF more than I've ridden at the actual venue, and have always felt safe. Traveling to the venue is no issue. There are loads of small kids/families there... Probably one of the best areas to go ride for kids/families/beginners

    Keep an eye on the classifieds, there will be LOADS of entries for sale closer to the time. You could also look at riding for a charity, but those will cost more

    I rode with my SO yesterday, but climbed hekpoort on my own and waited for her at the water point at the top of the climb.By the time I got there there was no water, so filled my bottle with poweraid for her. By the time she got there (7' later) there were nothing left but koeksisters, and a couple of bottles of coke, which was running out fast. Luckily I could give her my fresh bottle. I feel sorry for the regular slower (last 1/2 of the field), as this seems to be a general trend. I'm very disappointed, she will prabably skip this race in the future.

    I doubt that you will get something like that. Don't think there is enough evidence out yet to that will allow you to predict if changes away from healstrike would reduce injury rate. There is some evidence suggesting it, but as far as I've read there is nothing conclusive yet. I know some resent work has shown there to be responders and non-responders to forefoot running. It doesn't fit everyone, and certainly doesn't reduce injury risk in everyone.

    Those Volvo racks are nice! Made by Thule, just branded as Volvo (some of them you can see the Thule sticker scratched out with a magic marker), and a lot cheaper

    I don't really know the canon range, but I think its an issue with auto focus/aperture: Older lenses doesn't have internal focus motors, and were driven by the body. Newer lenses typically all have focus motors, so the bodies (especially lower spec/budget bodies) no londer have focus motors. If you then put an older lense on one of these newer bodies, they don't play nice. You can try putting the body in manual focus, it may solve the problem. The second issue is diaphragm control - newer lenses have electronic control (with no aperture ring), so the body doesn't have a control pin. Older lenses are controlled mechanically by the body. Check canon's website for conpatibility tables.
