    I'm 41, my true HRmax is 155.. So even though I can reach the theoretical 80%, I cannot maintain it for long enough to get descent points

    Anyone know if Discovery will come up with a work-around or alternative to the HR based system they currently use? My true HRmax is only about 86% of predicted, so the current system is not viable for me. Perhaps have (for individual few) a way to confirm HRmax and use that then instead of the formula based stuff

    Nice research to proof what most of us already know. Like with everything I think there will be those that respond very well, and those for whom it makes very little difference...

    For me to be on track for Comrades, I prefer to have a marathon done by the end of the previous year, and a fast one (qualifier) by the end of Jan, beginning of Feb. The there is enough time to build up to some ultras

    What do you guys recommend for gloves? I currently use full finger summer gloves with cotton cloves over it, but my finger tips will freeze going into proper winter cold
