  1. FACT continuous cable housing reduces the need for Teflon
  2. Thanks JB for another classic post.
  3. Where is the porn warning in the title??
  4. Awesome. My son wants a Lego Batman party next week. He loves his Legos and it keeps him busy all the time
  5. This would never happen in SA: http://www.godvine.com/Good-Samaritans-Stop-a-Hit-and-Run-Accident-1368.html
  6. I've seldom commented as a mod on the open forum but this is The Hub and this is how The Hub roles. I do not see any personal attacks once I looked the now deleted posts by the OP. And yes, HT vs FS is like Wet Lube vs Dry Lube and Roads vs Mountain Goats - its a BIG can of (Hub) worms that gets opened and dished to all.
  7. I've had my NXT now for 4years and only used 3 times ... time to get it out and play with it. Actually thinking of donating mine to a primary school we are going to send out son too - they take part in the Mindstorm League.
  8. We need service and if they can give it to us, we will support them.
  9. Concerning the side effects, two doctors and a chemist whose advice I always take all confirmed that you should not have any major ones - the first time I got the shot I thought I was coming down with the flu, turned out I was. Been getting the shot for 5 years and never looked back. Just be cautious about all the old wives tales and urban legends about the shot, speak to your doctor / chemist if you have doubts.
  10. +1 Going to buy The Hobbit for Kindle so wife and little hobbit (mean Hubber) can read a classic.
  11. Only use strobe if you got a light the lumen of a match stick - else keep them solid. I would say any light that makes you visible and lets you see where your going. Interested in this thread as morning is now the only time I get to ride and I also need a light.
  12. Guy did the Argus with his daughter on one of these a few years back so I guess they are safe enough. Thinking of getting one and they are between R2-R3K now.Know as a "half-bike"
  13. +1If that video does not bring back some memories then you have never lived. So reminded me of my BMX Bandit days - man, those ramps made awesome war stories
  14. Was just about to register and then I saw the Kids Fun Ride, so going to be doing that with my kids instead. Wife had to work the Saturday of the Argus Tricycle Tour so she would not want to miss this one. Will just go ride somewhere else afterwards (for a fraction of the price)
  15. My LBS warned me about them getting cold and the ones I got come a neoprene bombdom sleeve which worked like magic.
  16. I want to get one of those pumps that can take CO2, best of both worlds.
  17. Went for my Sunday 10km evening cycle tonight and noticed my back tyre was a bit underinflated - having my ever growing little Hubber on the child seat made it even worse. So I decided to try a bomb as I've been carrying them with me for 8 months now and never used it yet. Dang ma, it was magic. Screw it in, push it against the valve and half a second later the tyre was inflated. Man, not using bombs is like staying in the dark ages. I know some people feel that bombs are expensive and I know one Hubber in particular was throwing her toys & cats out of her cot about the price but come one, its so awesome and conviniant. No pricking around with a hand pump for 10 minutes
  18. I think OP has been scared forkless with all this arguing on this thread ... its just part the Hub way of life, we are all still friends on the trails.
  19. Bunch of Roadies - I never leave home without my 3L Camelbak fully loaded, even if its just taking my 16mth daughter for her weekly spin My list: Leatherman Chainbreaker Tube Bombs Pomp (for when the Garden Gnomes ask me for help) Patch 'n Solution 3L water - always fill it up Ice packs for water (I like cold water) Spare jacket Basic first aid - I tend to fall a lot Food and snacks And what ever I forgot to take out of my bag since I last washed it
  20. Well said and I think thats what the topic should be all about - have YOU made the decision yet?
  21. Interesting article but still not fair - not debating the price of cars but at R149K for an entry level car I guess they used the Toyota Yaris as the benchmark, a very overpriced car. Was just comparing Australian car prices to local but saw that the i20 is about R30K cheaper in OZ but its a different model to the South African one. Makes it hard to compare apples with pears. But then again in OZ, you don't pay taxes on bakkies or 4x4 so its cheaper to get a Hilux than a normal car
  22. Thats because educational ads don't get most people thinking about becoming a donar
  23. My son is all hyped for his 2nd tour, we had to skip last year because little sister was too young to take her with - this year she will be riding in the support pram (taking her helmet & Piwi just in case). My son cannot wait to show off his helmet (see my profile pic) and got him the Y-bike extreme - so I'm going to be running after him
