These have to be the WORST timing chips ever created. Used one last week for the Montecasino Classic via the zip tie/holder jobby that I was given and that ended up coming off in the middle of the Cradle after hitting a bump, along with that result. Yesterday I decided to rather put the chip in my pocket and play it safe and lo and behold I have no result yet again. There isn't even a proper contact method on their 'site'. Please can we rather have ONE PERMANENT timing chip thats used for all races that is actually reliable and not a piece of utter *** designed on a MS DOS platform In 2024 surely this is not a big ask.

    Rant over.

They quite clearly say it must be close to the ground/mat for there to be a result. Else share your Strava file with them.

I have the Velcro ankle strap. It's worked 100%, 100% of the time. Yeah, it looks dorky, but I wear aero socks to offset the lost watts LOL

Ebiking is not Mountainbiking, it's a whole new sport.

its the same as when Mountain-bikes came on the scene and the road bikers scoffed and turned there noses up (cycling in general is full of elitists ) Ebiking is a whole new sport and it is in the process of finding its feet. One day it will be classified as  different class of riding and racing on its own.

There are many teething problems and they will eventually be sorted and once the numbers grow enough there will be events that are ebike specific and there wont be the cross contamination that some of the elitist on here are moaning about.

    But totally off topic now...

De-restricting ebikes is uncool. Just like some drugs

Tell me which drugs are cool.

    Whaaaaat 😲

Help my trap riders that cheat?

Can't be ... I've been told that the only ones riding them are the ones that really need them for health and other related reasons and are only out to have fun. In fact if they take a long time that's the whole idea... I'm shocked to the core!

I'll never look at them in the same light again 😜

You fotgot to italicise your entire post

Talking of SA Champs, I see Maddie Le Roux is down to race the Ladies Elite race.  She is one of the finalists for the Ladies Zwift Academy Team - I'll be holding thumbs - My Wife used to coach her when she was a Junior Triathlete and she was with the team when we went to World Duathlon champs in Spain - the same year that Emma Pallant and Richard Murray won the Elite race.

She's really chilled - nice and grounded so I hope she does well.

She rode so well at RJ947. She smoked them on the hills, and then the girls just started looking around and saw Carla riding off into the distance.

That banner just say so much about Cycling RSA that I would not comment any further.

I always though this is a closed championship - it is South Africa Road Championship. How is it possible for UK cyclist to take part in this event

Much like provincials. You can pitch from whereever (for the GP champs at least), but obviously you won't be eligible for a podium spot or colours.

    Very confusing and unnecessary.

Ryan just in with an awesome 52,5 km/h average

Lets see if that will be the winning one

He obviously made light work on that course. Must be those sick new team colours of his.

Born in June, 1989, Emma originates from Surrey, England but is now based in Johannesburg, South Africa with her husband, and fellow triathlete Jaryd Browne. She is coached by two-time IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship bronze medallist Tim Don.

I assume he is referring to Emma Pallant, and i also assume she now has a CSA racing lisence

Plenty of athletes are born in one place but represent a different country altogether. MVDP being a prime example. He was born, and actually lives, in Belgium. But as we all know, he represents the orange behemoth that is the Dutch cycling team.

  8. RANT START

I think ITT champion is a pretty empty title, especially over here? How many ITT events are there on our calendar, or events that incorporate at least one ITT stage? I think for the elites there are many more opportunities for them to fly the colours. But for an amateur? Almost pointless.

    RANT FINISH

Potential for a Friday thread loading..

Isn't Emma Pallant an ultra tri athlete? She was even part of the Zwift Academy a few years ago, I think she might even have a half IM or full IM victory to her name. My money would've been on her. But congrats to Hayley.

    LOVE my bike.
Bike is a little more stiff than the previous Evo ed3.
    Integration works just fine.

I know the local importers do have stock of limited sizes in this color at the moment.  You should ask your LBS to find out what is available.

WRT powermeter, I have opted for the Power2Max.
