  1. Ok, I will let you know tomorrow then. I am having second thoughts about killarney this wednesday. I think I need a bit more rest this week. (easier riding & recovery) It will be the absolute pits if my legs are tired on sunday.
  2. Ok, I need a session this week sometime. When would be the best time if I am racing sunday?
  3. Cool man. Nice one. I went there a couple of years ago. We had a radio interview. It was with a band called No ID Found which moved into 2nd Floor and now Proxy Worship (which you will probably know ) So you have a face for radio then? Well then lets keep those rides in the dark.....
  4. No man, the radio thing. Whats it about?
  5. anyone else..... Marius?
  6. ok, ok. Its fine. Do you guys know how freaking hard it is to find somebody to ride with...... eeeerrgggg...... Anyway... ill see you next time B) Oh Taryn works with me. Also riding in that area at around the same time. She also speaks of these mugg and bean things. So I thought that it may be the same granny cycling group.
  7. Well thats perfect. I need to join up with my club ride at 7.30 as well after my own session. Where you you going with your club ride? You are not going with Taryn by any chance?
  8. You mean after our 5 am ride?
  9. Come on.... Arent you going to worcester? And if we had to skip the gravel would anyone be keen for the early morning ride?
  10. So you guys joining me then? Marius I thought you were looking for those extra miles.....
  11. Please, anyone? I really hate riding alone. I do it every day when I commute. Its going to be chilled. I promise.
  12. Anyone keen on a early morning ride on saturday? I am keen to check out the gravel section of malanshoogte to get ready for worcester next week. Leave table view just before 5ish, back at about 7.30. I plan to join up with the outriders afterwards. You more than welcome to join them as well if you want. They will ride until about 9. Road bikes.
  13. Couldnt wait till tomorrow to spill the beans. What a super product. Right now I feel on top of the world and great. Every other energy drink that I have every used has left my stomach feeling like it is almost upset by the end of the event. Not really upset but my intestines or whatever would complain for the rest of the day. Right now I am parking in bed feeling super duper, I have had an super hard racing session of about 40 min with the elites around the race track and I feel no different to what I did before the session. I started drinking the mixture at about 3 today, tasted so great that I finished one 750ml (two scoops) bottle before the event. Mixed up another half a bottle for the race which I finished by the time I got home. Got home, wasnt hungry like I normally am, but I still enjoyed my supper. Last week I raced on water (at race track as well) and I must say that I felt a bit stronger today with the 32GI. Maybe mental? I dont know? But it is very hard to lie to your body under that kind of stress. Maybe me drinking it from a bit earlier topped up my stores which gave me a bit of extra fuel when I needed it. I have to admit though that I did also take some caffeine at 3 today (event was at 6, so enough time to help a little) but I cant give caffeine all that credit. (if it was that good it would be illegal) I could feel that I was a bit mentally sharper though (well that was after the headache that it first gave me). By the way I have been on a very low caffeine diet lately because I have been dying to try out the "caffeine effect" So Mark, I am sold. You can post me a bottle every month now. I cant wait to try this on the weekend now for a endurance ride. Should I hit the road with 2 bottles of the stuff? Or should I go for 1 and 1 water? I dont want to take in any other form of snacks etc. I am planning on spending about 4 hours on the road at maybe 80-85% or so. What do you think?
  14. Mark, I am sipping on my first bottle of 32GI. Bought it at Ronelle's earlier, peach flavor, tastes great. Going racing at killarney just now (super hard, short session) so I will feedback tomorrow how I feel. You have said that guys in short sessions have felt a benefit, so I am going to give it a bash for myself. I will put it to the endurance test this weekend on a nice long training ride. The week after that will be my first league race, so that will be an inter In one of my earlier posts to you I mentioned that I was going to shift my diet to low gi and I have been really good for the past 3 weeks. So hopefully my lifestyle will be ready to use this fuel now. I will send feedback tomorrow! B)
  15. mmm.... I actually thought that was real for a moment..... I wasnt really surprised though. Pity. We could have silenced all of the die hard's that will never say that he was using.
  16. Come to think of it, your avatar actually looks kinda like a donut!
  17. Yes, well done Fire. You were really on fire
  18. Latex tubes will mean that you need to pump your tires everyday. Also you cant fix them. So not worth it for me. Also doesnt the latex pop if it gets a flat? So you might go from hard to soft in a split second? Could be very nasty at speed. I prefer my tyre going down over a few seconds thanks! I agree with Mampara though, having a smaller tube in your bag is a good reason to do this. Rather eat less chocolate in the week. There we go, presto 200 Grams saved!
  19. I have used two different backpacks. I carry very little with me (compared to you guys) because I can luckily leave my car at work with fresh clothes supplies for the week. One piece of advice I can offer you though, is that when the bag gets really heavy, you need to get the weight off your shoulders and onto your waist. So a waist strap is a must have for you. Otherwise your lower back is going to get very messed up. My bags are not water proof, but there is nothing wrong with plastic bags to keep everything nice and dry inside. My back does get sweaty, but I have got used to that by now.
  20. I see in another one of your posts that you stay close to tyger valley. What you can always do is cycle towards me in the morning and then meet up with me halfway (i will be coming in your direction)
  21. Yep. I generally leave home weekdays tues-fri at around 7 (table view) If you want to meet up with me somewhere on the way to belville then you are more than welcome. Weekends if the weather behaves better I am trying to get out before 5 for about a 4 hour ride.
  22. Need to do a early ride in table view from around 5am. Will probably meet up with the outriders after that for their club ride at 7.30. Anyone keen to join me?
  23. David, I cycle up plattekloof rd every morning on the way to work (except monday mornings) I go past the bothasig circle at around 7.20-30 or so. But if you guys want to ever do a morning cycle going up hendrik verwoed then I will join you guys.
  24. So what time do you get to the burgandy estate area? I commute up along plattekloof rd every day, but most probably way after you. I normally only leave home (Table View) at around 7.
