  1. Wisting - norwegian series. Damn good stuff. and a gentle reminder of just how hot Trinity still is
  2. Shock Doctrine - Naomi Kline it's a staggering perspective on the relationship between torture, economics and conflicts afflicting our world. It can leave you with the bizarre realization that perhaps, the EFF is not entirely wrong. If anyone had any doubts about Confessions of an Economic Hitman - John Perkins, Shock Doctrine will vaporise those doubts.
  3. Not WC DH related as far as I know, but isabeau cordurier, seems to have left intense collective (Enduro)
  4. Had a bit of Brit show binge of late: Traces: enjoyed it. More recently, Deadwater Fell. Gripping start, with David Tennant and Cush Jumbo (The good fight ) Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector is also looking very interesting based on the first ep.:
  5. that's my hope as well, but I think she might start slow, given recovery from injury and the fact that she's lost a lot of development time on the new bike. But if she podiums off the bat, then it's likely she could end up stealing everyone's lunch come end of season.
  6. Nina is riding Juliana: they don't have a team as it were, so will she be training and setting up under Syndicate? that one needs full factory support to realize her potential: those ladies ahead of her are animals, not to mention the piranha that will be Vali. <-- very keen to see how she handles having to match pace to even sniff the podium seeing that pompon, Tahnee, Hannah are going to becoming out full gas from the get-go. Dunno about rachel though: that calf muscle looks like it needs more red meat in it's diet.
  7. Rough! Related, the PB rumor mill is saying gwin is going to be something to watch this year.. *yawn*
  8. Currently, the only thing hotter than a 9-race season is the team changes. Seems like many contracts expired at the same time. FMD transitioned to canyon Jack Moir off intense Unno pulled it's world cup team etc..
  9. Many thanks Thomo
  10. i haven't! Their website doesn't hint at window hardware, but i'll check with them next week. Thanks!
  11. Anyone know where I can purchase replacement friction stay window hinges Specs are top hung, 300mm length, 17mm width (channel width = 18mm), stack height 13mm, 90 deg opening. https://www.premiumaluminium.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/top-hung-friction-stay.png there is a place up in gauteng that sells it, quite cheap, but the shipping is almost triple the price of the hinge pair alone! overall, not expensive tbh, but it's pretty meh, So looking for cape town suppliers.
  12. what's the situation wrt number collection? I've checked the website for info in that regard, but didn't see any.
  13. and i thought your woodworking skills were crazy good.
  14. it's not as straightforward as I had imagined. typically, these types of stories focus on the awe and majesty of the supposed miracles the protagonist is capable of. Instead, it's pretty much a very small sideshow to the bigger story of the impact on personal, cultural and political and other spheres of life. They've done enough in my view, to warrant for a second season. I liked it enough to binge it in one sitting.
  15. hitting up Messiah.
  16. Finished season 2 of Sacred Games. Sleeper series. Highly recommend watching both seasons back 2 back, or if you have already watched S01, then hit up a decent refresher: S02 draws quite strongly on events in S01.
  17. i expect the response to be as nebulous as the witness account leading up to the dustup with sanparks.
  18. i never said that, nor implied it. That's wholly your interpretation, and i'm saying it's not a correct reading. What i am also saying is there is likely more to this story than what the video shows, and there has to be a proper accounting for all aspects. To prevent another incorrect assumption, I wouldn't weight them equally, but they are all important. But at this point, it seems the emotions are centered around just one aspect of things. I personally prefer an appreciation of all truths of the matter, not just the more emotively charged aspects.
  19. maybe the woman would have bought her entry fee, and stopped when requested when caught out. I'm getting the distinct impression that there's a deliberate haze around the circumstances leading up to where we have visual footage. Handlebars being pulled, reportedly at high speed? It's very easy to pass out of hand as unacceptable, but it requires assumption that Dlamini did absolutely nothing wrong. but let's not forget he didn't have his entry permit.
  20. true for normal people, but elite level cyclists are known to have weaker bones because of the sport: While it is managed, the aim is to go as light as possible for the purposes at hand, highest possible power to weight ratio. They not looking at impact resistance, much less sanparksproofing.
  21. Donovan: prior to them puling on his bars, did they not request/shout at him to stop? Was he being hardheaded about stopping, that is, was there a situation where he almost knocked one of them over?
  22. Yas! Lost in Space was damn cool. but that cliffhanger.. URGGH!
  23. More than half billion rands worth of stuff pushed through classifieds in a single year..... a small slice of a huge pie is a mighty fine meal..
  24. Total listings value R 511 395 478 five hundred and eleven million? In one year? open or completed sales? or all sales, active or completed since jan van riebeek landed till date of stats compilation?
  25. Something for the UK TV series fans: Traces One ep down; interesting watching.
