  1. dunno if i'm dreaming, but recent bosch blue releases look so bland and so cheap, it seems they built the stuff with the wrong color plastic. the releases seem more prosumer-ish than the premium industrial strength stuff i expect from Bosch Blue.
  2. same here. An ardent fan of the show said S02 was a dud. All subjective of course, but didn't help the reluctance I feel when I think of trying to watch it again. and now S03 is here. Meanwhile, i'm happily distracted from the 13RW dilemma with Jordskott. Definitely not on the level of Dark, but it's watchable.
  3. you offer, they counter-offer. The best answer is either yes or no. No point getting all riled up.
  4. Dark: been putting off this german series for too long. What an amazeballs show. So looking forward to season 2.
  5. i don't understand that bit of scorched earth approach: that effectively is saying that most of us who wants to engage with TokaiMTB via a public forum such as bikehub, cannot hold a reasonable contrarian view: we are all just rabid when comes to expressing disagreement and only quarrel and disagree for the sake of it. But that is not the case and why should the rest of us be judged on the behaviour of a few? Deon and Co have displayed leadership. Part of it is engaging with those less inclined to take up similar mantles, and yes, sometimes or often having to deal with frustrated individuals. Disappearing off the hub is not the solution. Is disappearing from FB next? No responses to TokaiMTB email address after that?
  6. everyone saying eddy and co were unappreciative of the work TokaiMTB reps do, is misguided in my view, and distracting from the actual source of concern: price of admission to the AGM. It's also terrible argument to also say just because they are disagreeing with the arrangements around the AGM, that they are unappreciative of the trail work. So can get back on track please?
  7. Well frankly, it's pathetic. There were equal doses of high handed commentary from both sides, but nothing that warrants gestapo tactics. seriously weak sauce.
  8. at least you'll come home by yourself, with all your organs..
  9. Mindhunter: hotdamn what a gripping show. 3 Eps down in season 2 and i can't look away.
  10. if that thing is rocking 5G, then they have a winner.
  11. who are you buying from that allows importing of SRAM stuff?
  12. OWLs have some of the best mobility of any athlete. Lifting massive weight requires excellent biomechanics, otherwise you'll have crossfit like technique.
  13. now i really enjoyed the boys. zero feelgood. I must rate the actor playing Homelander: one of best portrayals of an unhinged psycho seen on TV.
  14. elaborate a bit on what you mean by "not as invested as" ? wrt tdf sponsors, I think they are massively invested. There is no sport currently with markups on associated equipment, and growth in participation, as high as cycling. It's why there's been broad consolidation in the industry via investment houses pulling in various brands under one management roof. Those markups need to be funnelled, and halo events such as the TDF are just the triggers for further spending. What is interesting is that there is so much pay parity between winners of a very well established sporting spectacle that is the TDF, vs the winners of a comparatively young sport such as crossfit. Either cycling sponsors are stingy with prize money (rampage comes to mind), or crossfit is sloshing with cash. Then again, how many games are there versus how many grand tours and other major cycling events with decent purses?
  15. a grid-scale battery would serve that objective nicely me thinks. But the cost? i wonder if they can build their own gridscale battery the same way Facebook and google built their own datacenters back in the day using off the shelf components.
  16. yep. stoked for Jaime Green. She really showed up this year.
  17. True. But do you think they going to institute some changes to prevent repeat winners? I mean lets face it: Tia and Matt smoked the competition. Matt's 60sec time penalty only created illusion the others had chance.
  18. thought the phrase was milking a dry cow. Kidding aside, this bit of legal action has been boiling for a long time now. It's curious that it has been splashed over the front pages now only. It wouldn't surprise me if this is the eskom executive weaponising public opinion against the senior personnel. What is not stated is that the unions ground&pound eskom into agreeing to a 3-year MYPD-like annual salary increase for staff that fall within the so-called bargaining units. For them the increases are 7.5% (2018), 7% (2019), 7% (2020). Middle management increases were pegged to a warped version of inflation.
  19. So unsurprisingly, Tia and Matt crushed it again. the latter's win might be somewhat controversial given he "only" had time points deducted when he seemingly did not realize a weight sack fell out of his weighted vest. Irrespective, i think he is a deserved champ. disappointed with Horvat's showing. Really thought she was going to go toe2toe with Tia. But i guess there were warnings given the sanctioned events she participated in: she was way off top performance. Came in looking super swole though..
  20. oh yes, i'll gladly take another dose of this kind of creepy
  21. very appealing for some reason
  22. The Boys - another counter popculture approach to superheroes. Frst ep in and i'm interested. Reminds me of the recent movie, Brightburn, which also took a 180 from the current approach to supers. Found it creepy AF.
  23. very interesting!
  24. are the entries open yet on Entry Ninja? Searching yields nix other than rounds 1 and 2, and the all-season pass. But nothing for round 3 only.
  25. Have you discussed this with the doc? Are you considering reporting that doctor to the health professionals council for a bit of probing? there's a 100 thousand reasons to look a bit closely.
