  1. if you value grip over everything else, then E13. Granted, i'm referring to rev 0 of E13. I have rev 1 in the corner here. I really hope they resolved that rolling resistance problem. Riding with those rev 0s felt like your big was kitted with a drag chute permanently deployed. But for a first try, the grip of that tyre was stupendous, besting even the much loved magic mary.
  2. Enjoying Coroner S01 and S02 of Star Trek. Building Alaska, and very much looking forward to season 19 of Grand Designs. Ep 1 of Grand Designs building of the year is on youtube, in two parts. Must find the rest.
  3. I hope this thread covers Kickr Snap as well So for those who do own this indoor tormentor; have you noted a slow/variable response to power levels when in erg mode? For instance, when whatever app is being used to demand a certain power output, it feels like the IDT is slow to achieve the required resistance or it comes on in fits and starts. For instance, going from 80% FTP to 140%, my hub power meter is indicating i've reached the desired power, but trainer road power indication shows I'm lagging behind, but eventually catches up so that the hub power meter reading and the IDT reading/demand are the same. Wheel slip? It's abit annoying because trainer road will indicate I'm running a deficit in power level, all because I did not seem to get to the required power level at the start of the interval. I'm aware that erg mode responds to cadence when determining what level of resistance to apply. I've noted that on trainerroad, the power level deficit is bigger if I go into the start of a higher power interval with a high cadence (which is what is required during the lower power recovery sessions). I can reduce the deficit by slowing the cadence and then ramping up to meet required power levels during the last 2 seconds of countdown to the next interval. the closer I start to the start of the interval, the lower the deficit. If I don't micromanage the situation to that level, I get slapped with a deficit. I feel this is the Snap's behavior more than Trainerroad, as the same behavior is noted when using Rouvy. But open to alternate perspectives and guidance
  4. Fess up: you didnt wake up early enough!
  5. The recent Pinkbike review very politely slammed the geo. Seems steep ST newfangled geo is very catchy ...
  6. how many more odd questions in that series?
  7. similar wear patterns too? it's interesting that there's a preferred direction of turning. Grease mOnkey: mayhem: what's your dominant hand and foot?
  8. you seem to either anchor harder, or rail it harder, when hitting right hand corners
  9. nah, he's busy cheating on Mary with Eli.
  10. been inclined to get one myself of late. have tracks with a track compatible circsaw, but continuously having to verify the blade is at the intended angle results in a lot of wasted time.
  11. well done to India on the trampling of Aus in their on backyard. Don't get Tim Paine's comments though: it's like he doesn't want to be the captain, and IMO, he pissed all over the aussies' vaunted depth in selection when saying their team wasn't full strength (missing to the two cheaters Warne and Steve Smith). That type of comment is a double backhand to the indian team and any upcoming aussie players.
  12. Final dirtopia enduro in May already? Please confirm
  13. Deadly Class. Huge potential here. I reckon the 80s background is going to make for a killer soundtrack https://youtu.be/5YetxCbGYDM oh and Maria...
  14. that last ep. not a batman I remember from any of the movies. that was hectic. (phrased as not to be too much a spoiler)
  15. lol. that's like asking the dog why it isn't running around just after it got creamed by a highway of trucks..
  16. well spotted! That tyre is already squishing under weight of the bike alone.
  17. love how it took you 6 min to FFWD
  18. This is a pretty focussed assessment by a money man. glad to know that my two previous posts were not too far off the pressure points. Glad and sad, because the reality is, the knife has to cut deep to get to the rot(root) of the problem. Eskom: what's the plan?
  19. the more i look at it, the more the seatpost angle seems familiar, acceptable...
  20. unfortunately, the masses don't grasp the full extent and impact of the corruption, and even of the way BBBEE had been implemented. Quality of service was the last thing on anyone's mind, effectively turning BBBEE into a national level getrichquick scheme. And internal promotions was another extension of that scheme it seems. I'm pretty damn sure western cape stations are in violation of the demographic compliance requirements of gender equity. it wouldn't have been that big a problem (unless you are a non-black female) if quality was a high priority. But the ensuing incompetence at managerial level translated down fast and hard. The lack of substantive and sustainable planning beggars belief. the lack of quality is pretty institutionalized. the recovery is going to take time, but requires consistency of leadership vision and quality standards. just too much politicking the moment for either of those to survive, much less flourish and nourish the rest of the organization. Yet, there are key individuals, who despite the crap they quagmired in, still perform to a level that carries everyone else. Let's not forget about those individuals. Let's not rob them of the motivation to keep going, by painting them with the same brush.
  21. can we see a signed hallpass please?
  22. well, the production numbers and causes for lost/reduced productivity do not indicate coal shortages as problems. There are a large number of genuine plant faults taking out units left and center, or reducing their outputs. Also, coal laying around requires contracts. Koko locked in 51% black owned suppliers. It wouldn't surprise me if companies that did not meet 51% BBBEE requirements are the ones saying they have coal laying around. The better question to pose thanjumping to emotionally charged, factually inaccurate conclusions, is: * why aren't the existing contracted coal suppliers not supplying sufficient coal at the correct quality level (export market income is a huge factor here btw). If they are not meeting contractual requirements, why are they being humored? * are there transport issues getting coal from the mines to the stations? * What in the operating targets and maintenance schedules are causing units to fall over across the board?
  23. my dream shock If only that SWIFT nightmare would evaporate, i'd have one in time for me birthday :/
  24. don't forget government mandate regarding jobs (look at @stellerated's tweet concerning her feud with SABCs board). Unions didn't pull more ppl in, National policy did that. Unions just made it near impossible to offload baggage, unless it was not_black.
  25. If the first ep is anything to go by, this is going to be a psych heavy bit of viewing. I'm anticipating something in the vein of Event Horizon. Creepy AF.
