  1. "They must have heard the crack or seen the dent because it was bad" I cannot believe that you did not see that the day the bike was collected. if it was so bad.... I would not take the resposibility if I was the bike shop. There's no way that they are going to.
  2. Are you sure its not the tyre that has a wobble in it. More likely to be that than the wheel its self.
  3. Ja the 29er range from trek is nice, but down in cape town not much stock to choose from, there is a guy on the hub selling a Gary Fiher 29 with slx on dual for R30.000
  4. Give me a shout if you need help on anything regarding over 2m. You want a road bike or Mtb? I am 2,06cm and ride a 63cm Cannondale road bike and a XXL or as they call it Jumbo Cannondale Mtb. I wear a size UK 14. You can order a pair of shimano shoes from your local dealer. But remember shimano shoes are weird sizing make sure you ask for a UK14 and not like I know it a EU49. In shimano shoes you need a EU51. Trust me I know ordered the wrong size 1st. If you want order them from http://www.leisurelakesbikes.com/ they have specialized mtb and road shoes in UK14 I ordered my road shoes from them and cost me R1600 for a top of the range shoe they have the mtb shoe also in stock. Then locally you can also try buycycle.co.za they also have some Sidi shoes that should fit and they are in JHB so you can go and try them on before you buy. Big J
  5. So how much do you guys pay for a Docter's Appointment that takes 15mins?
  6. Just dont get agro with them, tell them the situation and that you feel unsafe on the cracked frame. Maybe they can borrow you a used Aluminium frame of some sort till the replacement comes from aboard.
  7. Thanks, that lot are not going to be happy. But rules are rules. I cant wait till Saturday to do the whole red loop again. Its a great ride from my place and back of 65Km. Hard on the body.

    ME AGAIN

wow neat Tandem, are those tandem wheels or just for the show?
  9. I remember on Saturaday when we were riding stopped and read one of the boards along the route that said even though that you had previous permission to ride there from the farm owners that this does not stand anymore. I agree with this aswell. Its only R270 come on some off us spend more than that a week on energy drinks and GU's. Just a question if you are riding a MTB tandem do you have to have two permits or one for the bike? thanks and keep up the great work that route is wonderfull. An the scenes are spectacular.

    LOOK Quartz

Must say Mr LOOK changed to the look MTB pedals 3 months ago and since then I have not pulled my foot out once. I was ryd-ing another brand previous to that and pulled my foot out atleast twice on every ride. Only mistake I made was to buy the white ones, (Come on they were on special) but they did look cool in the box. Now I have a set of off white creame looking almost brown pedals. Will buy black or grey next time round. thanks Justin
  11. The only way you will know if its ok is to put a new chain on, if it jumps its worn. If it works its fine.
  12. Rather take this up with the shop in question and any way if you dont want to jump the traffic light thats your worries. This forum is just going to go hay wire anyway and the mod's are going to delete it. I can see it coming. But if you are in a big group like these night rides are I would suggest stopping at the traffic lights because it is a bit dangerous if the front guys go through. The problem is that if the front guy jumps through a orange light the rest of the guys have to stop. Where is it going to end then. Enjoy riding buy your self rather its sometimes safer.
  13. Where the hell are you guys getting the X-Kings from, dont even think they have arrived at Conti in SA yet. Has a outside suppier got them if so let me know want 2 , X-King protection 2.2's
  14. Please forward me any problems from Ocean Baskets my brother inlaw looks after the employees
  15. Boet, its very dark in there at that time of the morning, ask me I've been there and even with the magic light its dodgy
  16. Bought some of this stuff from Mark's Bicycles Workshop 4 Karoo Rd Bellville Tel: 021 948 1422 Not to bad, what I like about it is that the tubes are in tablet form (R75 x 20 tabs) and easy to mix. Just pop in in the bottle or camelbak and you ready to go. Only costs R3,75 per bottle.
  17. Nice read, I just feel that yo must ride what you want and or what you can afford. Enjoy the bikes to the max.
  18. Thats cool info, thanks. I think wether a funrider that starts at the end of the field or a season pro. The info given should be the same. Would be quite interesting to see what your time difference percentage against a top class rider what there time difference percentage would be. Any way enjoy the new ride
  19. Do you guys honestly think that its Funny, Funny that it was not me would of kicked the **** out of the okes car. Maybe not funny for the cyclist that is I suppose. To quick on the draw there.
  20. Just for the record I just ride MTB for fun and have UST wheels with Conti Race King UST, but use Tube and slime setup. So thats the heaviest setup. Its not about the weight, its about not getting punctures and the UST tyres are alot thicker and tougher on the sidewalls. Oh ja I also run them at 3-4 pressure depending where I am riding.
  21. You dont seem to understand, UST tyres dont use tubes that's why they are called Tubeless. You use them for lower pressure setup. Where if you use a normal tyre and tube setup at low pressure you will keep pinching the tube. Thats why I dont understand guys that rave about there tubeless road wheels, that just does not make sence. You want the highest pressure possible to get the maximun out of you road wheels. Its like putting slime in you Tubbies, thats just not on. Anyway thats a fight for another day.
