  1. Butafly I asked Roger B several questions last year and was shot down by him hence I work on my own now,Look at the trans/dev plan of CSA and honestly tell me what will they achieve at year end based on their ideas. I have requested two bikes from CSA Last year and still waiting to receive even after S Dale spoke personally to me over the phone and referred me to Tony H.I know the track bikes in CGC is well looked after but the road bikes is another story. Obie the guys are very appreciative of it and wear it with pride.
  2. Why is it not working properly? Simple people and their attitudes. I as a person of colour have seen some successful systems in place and producing through their ranks quality riders, unfortunately these guys are snapped by the richer clubs with all promises and no delivery hence the system dies. Germiston wheelers in Gauteng is a good example of doing great work with the PDI guys, yet there is not recognition for it. I ask the question of youngsters such as Roy Masikari, William More and many more why has no big club taken them under their wing and groomed them.(Check their results at the timing co's) We hear and see a lot about the LCA in Cape Town(Glyn), this is truly a revealtion of transformation in cycling yet they get shot down for thinking out of the box and getting initiatives off the ground and working for the youngsters wanting to be part of their system. With the help of Glyn I had grown my development clinic into a budding affair up in Gauteng(Florida/Jabulani) only to be hijacked by my so called neighbouring clubs two weeks before Glyn and Pick n Pay were to give my project a huge cash injection all for what- a promise of better things to come from them. By the way none of these guys and girls had ridden a race since they left me before the "Tour de Soweto" I WONDER WHY? I had bought them timing chips, given them kit, helped fix some of their bikes entered them into races and transported them there and back, some slept over at my home the day before a race so they could get to the races with me the next day, what todate have they got from their new clubs? Yes Glyn keep working the way you are, you will produce the goods in the long run, Kakaa is almost their. I take pleasure and pride having a youngster such as Isaac donning his kit and bike in the peleton and racing with the big boys here in Gauteng and achieving good times amongst the best as can be seen this year in the Elite races, I believe Glyn Andrew McClean and a few others such as Germiston Wheelers need to be commended for their efforts, they are not like the window dressers in the sport dishing out Tokens only. Two of the biggest events in the country are quick to say the are aiding the PDI's at their events by donating free entries, bikes and sponsored clothing to a few riders. That I believe is window dressing, where are they during the year when we are working with these persons, yet race day they in the sponsored colours giving recognition to the event not to the clubs and persons working with them the other 364 days in the year. I to date have never accepted free entry for any of my riders into races thus far and I have white youngsters in my club who I enter into races as well because of their circumstances. IT IS ALL ABOUT ATTITUDE AND GETTING THE JOB DONE.
  3. Guys it is simple if CSA is not complying with what you want then I challenge you to be bold and take on the position of Provincial executive members in your provinces and then vote out all the people you feel is doing a bad job get yourselves elected onto CSA and help us cyclists with a free for all system you advocating now.( all this is going costs you is a couple of votes from your associates).
  4. Guys CGC is in the process of setting up a total licencing package for 2008 not because they want you money only but it has become LAW from CSA to do so. We are like the car drivers complaining about road rage taxi's etc yet we ride without seatbelts and change lanes without indicating(Does that makes us any better?) You do not need to licence period but if you want to partake in any formal racing from now onwards do the right thing and either join the province or a club and get on with it. By the way are you guys aware of the fee structure CSA will implement next year for licencing both Full and Cyclosport. I believe CSA and the provinces are heading in the right direction and YES it will piss some persons off but where does one start to address these issues. It would be interesting to hear the opinions of the "Riders Association" with regards this matter.
  5. Guys Problem lies with members not checking that their club is doing what should be done for them has YOUR CLUB actually ahnded over their dues to the province and ensured your licence application is forwarded as well. ONCE AGAIN FOR THIS YEAR ANY MEMBER REGISTERED WITH CGC THROUGH A CLUB OR DIRECTLY WILL NOT NEED TO PAY THE DAY LICENCE AND WILL BE SEEDED ACCORDINGLY (I use a copy of club receipt to prove I am affiliated to CGC, no problem).
  6. Confirm with CGC that your club has affiliated to them and handed over your CGC forms and dues for processing to them, if done you should not be charged the day license fee as per CGC executive chairman.Gail is in the building as well to confirm.
  7. Guys why not take it for what it is. You have the option to register and continue to receive the seeding you did before or not register and get seeded at the ZZ group. This does not mean you will have clowns in B bunch(Thyolo Post) because your seeding will dictate where you are placed. What CGC has done is a starting point to creating a formal licensing system for the provinces and to attract the social rider into the system.
  8. Hi all cyclists in Central Gauteng: Licensing issues solved for 2007. In order to get all cyclists aboard and not worry about the licensing saga CGC has undertaken the following for the remainder of the year. A person can become a registered member of CGC through his/her club OR BY DIRECT MEMBERSHIP to CGC(phone the office 011 707-2734) You will not be charged the day license fee at any race once you have affiliated to CGC as their database is available for race organzises to check whether you are registered, by the way you will be seeded accordingly as well. Thanks CGC for hearing the plea of the cyclist, we commend you. So guys and girls get those forms in and start turning them wheels.

    Licensing

Seems certain provinces jumping the gun charging a fee for day licenses when CSA has not amended their constitution as yet. I believe this is unethical check clause 16.
  10. bbjsportguy:PLEASE ASK CSA HOW CAN THEY IMPLEMENT A LICENSE LAW WHEN THEY HAVE NOT HAD AN AMENDMENT DONE TO THE CONSTITUTION EITHER AT THEIR CONGRESS IN APRIL OR AT A SGM FOR SUCH PURPOSE.ARTICLE 16 SAYS WE CAN RIDE WITHOUT LICENSES HENCE THEY NEED TO CHANGE THIS WHAT IS CURRENTLY HAPPENING IS BASICALLY FRAUD WHERE PROVINCES ARE FORCING CYCLISTS TO PAY R30-00 FOR A DAY LICENSE. YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THIS ONE.(Malcolm Hassen).
  11. Insideman what are you doing on a bike if you cannot allow your fellow cyclists to enjoy their moment in the sun. TCS stay the way you are we enjoy the company and friendship on the road. insideman take note this is from the clowns on the road.
  12. Hey TCS you guys done well and look great on tv,what a great reminder of a wondeful week-end away from home. Where to next guys?
  13. In Gauteng you can contact Dawood Davids he is the local agent on 083 212 5001.
  14. Morning all Before we get carrried away on this topic can I please ask that we keep it clean and speak about what we know without "He said they said we said" Do not name names you have no prove of yourself. That way we will have facts on this thread only. My solution to CSA as follows: Get all those riders who want to confess do so publically and tested thereafter at their expense with NO SANCTION FOR PAST OFFENCES. But if caught into the future make it a lifetime ban from the sport for the person involved and his whole team as they are part of the problem as well.
  15. Pantani on behalf on all the New Horizons dudes we wish a Big One tomorrow "Do what they do in the Durbs" enjoy and may you have many more happy cycle free ones. Mallo and clan
  16. Thug How did you manage an entry to Rhodes?
  17. Krem 2008 here we come again few issues to sort out such as toilets food queues NOTHING to change with race format. This is a race for the cyclists were we can compete with the real cyclists and NO UCI interference needed to make it ANOTHER elitist event only. Krem organzisers please apply for your date with CSA now and get Latrinus to sort out all legalities early on.
  18. Thanks Nomad the steel horse got us to the finish safely.
