  1. Just received an SMS from 94.7 The R30-00 levy for this year will not be enforced.Problem solved, all seeding according to your index.
  2. Quick question: How many of us hubbers are registered club members? I am.
  3. R3.3million in race entry fees already wonder what percentage will end up at a charity door after expenses and the like paid out? The R30-00 levy will be interesting to see happen as only in KZN are they applying this rule strictly. Wonder what entry fees will be like next year as almost all the big sponsored events this year seems to hit the R150-00 to R200-00 mark already
  4. CGC is funded by your annual R75-00 licence fee per rider currently and this money in turn has a portion sent off to CSA and the rest used to keep the office/staff up and running.CGC has to part fund our Inter clubs and provincial champs as well from this money across all disciplines road, track, mtb, etc.
  5. No clubs = no finances for provincial bodies hence no staff and no money to CSA except for race entry levies from race organizers, so who is really the loser at the end of the day( Us the rider).
  6. THE BIG QUESTION: HOW MANY OF US ARE DOING THE AMASHOVA THIS YEAR? I bet most of us moan gatte are entered already and will be doing the same for 94.7 and Argus, so you already R90-00 out of pocket for these three races alone this year. What about next year are you going to abandon riding in races because you will not contribute to your provincial or national body by way of a licence fee. CGC has only one paid official on it's books and yet the world is expected from CGC in ensuring all is right at events and getting issues resolved with CSA etc. The rest of the exec do this out of their own free will.
  7. Dave rode the same Edge bike at the Selati Africycle tour last week.
  8. Well done Colin, now if Polokwane Pedallers donate some of that chip money to a charity of choice would really round this off. All winners at end of the day.
  9. MWNN are you sure about Glen????? Just wondering this is same person who took all the persons of colour(bar Isaac)from my club in December with the promises of better help to them and to date they are yet to ride in a race.( My personal opinion is he does it only if he can gain from it-Remember Tour de Soweto).
  10. Arnie is one of a select few who can boast having attained silver medals at The Two Oceans and Comrades races and still runs a great time trial at RAC on Tuesday evenings.
  11. The board is not been questioned here the selectors is as the new set of selectors was done this year hence the question of what input was done by whom? To my knowledge no meetings was held to discuss this in either province.
  12. What a load of bull that all the clubs and provinces has the right to choose the selectors etc!!!!. When in the last two years has there been a provincial club meeting in our province where we the clubs can have a say in the running of cycling? Simple question to CSA show us the nominations forms from CGC and GN with the nominations submitted. The COO is fighting a battle of note but due to all the other personal issues around him he has not got the buy in from all parties as he is tramping on cozy toes of all the yes men/women in the sport. What a disgrace both SA champions left out of the national teams. Mind you both has over many years proven themselves worthy of their achievemnts to-date.
  13. This is a SAD day in womens cycling having a lady such a Cherry treated in this manner first on the track now road as well. I find it amazing that we cannot look after the little we have because of self scented people serving their own interests on the CSA board. I formally challenge CSA to provide reasons for not selecting Cherry this time round AGAIN.
  14. Well done to Chucky for aiding a fellow cyclist, you will be justly rewarded for this kind jesture, rad006 make sure you do justice to this donation.
  15. Chilli have your friend deliver a written request to the old club stating she wants a be released from them for the reasons she has and to send a copy to CSA as well, this would be the norm and standard in any code of sport however if she has a contract in place it is another matter. If there is no monies or obligations involved they are compelled to give her a clearance letter to present to her new club for their registartion purposes. The admin at CSA should not have processed her registration without this letter in the first place shows us once again that Carinus has a lots more to do to clean out his department which I am sure he will do only problem is he has to much to do as it appears the whole admin is in a mess.
  16. The is a domicle rule that comes into play with regards your province of registration. I cannot understand the ethics of belonging to more than one club, where does one's loyalty lay then. CP change your province BUT not your club, I doubt you will find better anywhere else.
  17. Guys as Chunky has stated there is more than meets the eye with regards doping in sport even in SA. ask yourselves why the athletes who were tested positive and banned(Pretoria region)spoken out against the chemist supplying them and why the Doping agency has done nothing to date yet they know who was the supplier from these athletes. Surely some one stands to lose financially from such transactions and the credibility of some persons within these agencies must be questioned. Is it not funny the T Mobile rider dope test took almost a month to break yet Vino's done within a few days.
  18. Breeze what you are saying is what we want to hear and see put into action.I believe between the COO and yourself you guys can get the national academy up and running and provide for the future youngsters.
  19. Strange thing this Cycling I find it amazing a person like BB can make statemenst the way he does, when on earth is CSA going to start a national academy(OWNED BY CSA NOT INDIVIDUALS OR AGENTS) for juniors to start proper development and plough back into the sport at grass route level instead of worring about the Elites only. Look at Microsoft/MTN get there job done without any hassles that is why a youngster such as Johnathan Kinnear will be featuring in the next two seasons. Stop looking for excuses and get the job done.Remember you had the balls to take the position you in now fulfill the roles you hold with your heads held high.
  20. Do it on the ride if you don't want to lose time or as Anne Trason done on Comrades a few years ago when she broke the womens record mind you see done both front and back.
  21. Carinus Lemmer please come to our aid and solve this issue once and for all. It seems certain provinces has implemented the licence issue whilst others have not and it is causing havoc with the poor cyclists due to inconsiderate officialdom by the provinces. Solution: Stop all licence issues for this year and ensure all provinces are up to scatch for start 2008 season and that provinces actually campaign their riders to licence or pay the day licence fee without seeding option. I believe 5 months is enough warning to all cyclists. Furthermore a challenge to all provincial chairpersons make known your feelings with regard the licencing issue seeing that you were party to this disccussion at congress and now you are letting your cyclists down.
  22. Guys The only provinces using Licencing at the moment if KZN CGC WP not sure about. The other provinces has not indicated anthing as yet on any of their race entries
  23. Bobbie can I ride the Amashova with it when you return please.
  24. Widget the problem remains the same as in other codes of sport as well. We cannot take care of all the issues these youngsters face daily hence we do the little we can and I can say the same for the LCA, they go out of their way to provide a wholesome living lifestyle for the kids in their program that show the potential and want for cycling unfortunately not all these youngsters will succeed and stay the course.
  25. Well done Robbie, Crux Tony and Co you can be proud of your man. Hope this sets the scene for better things to come later on I could not believe it seeing at least three Barw riders up front in the last 50km of the stage, shows one how Conti is working on his plan. Go Robbie.
