  1. Epoh many riders joining A bunch next week, you and your crew need to be fresh for the challenge, some pocket money available for first three.
  2. Buckstopper Pity you know little about Kiwi he need not hang on for dear life with the group he can easily sit upfront with Andrew and the boys but chooses to ride where he does.Do some research on New Zealand cycling then you would get an idea of who he is.
  3. Sorry for hijack Hi Kiwi nice to see you on the hub, looking forward to you joining our club soon.(NH) Condolences to the family, I am trying to get clarity from Metro about the yellow line issue and cyclists in Gauteng but you get sent from pillar to post, nobody wants to take accountability.
  4. Problem with cyclists such as Capri Cycling (about 20 persons)on Sunday sends out bad vibes for all cyclists. They would not move off of the Randfontein road on Sunday so that other cyclists could continue in the yellow lane (while waiting for a puncture to be repaired)then they rode four to five abreast in the left lane all the way through Florida on Ondekkers road with no care for the motorists or other cyclists on the road.
  5. Welcome back Cherry seems your efforts are getting results, Now to get the ladies to back your efforts and produce the type of racing we mad male ego's are always on about. Guys is it not time we back Cherry and her committee in trying to improve the image of ladies cycling across the board.
  6. Well done to Jake and the boys. Pity the banner mentions Thabo instead of SA Rugby and their lame cronies who are hell bent on destroying the hard work done over the years. I doubt the ministry of sport are actually committed to actual transformation in sport as this would put them out of their jobs once implemented properly. Is it not strange we hear no rumbling from a certain Buti Khompela. By the way CSA T/D(Roger) commission your final deadline is around the corner I wonder what your scorecard looks like based on what you publically stated.
  7. Mnr Coo Long time no hear, what is the status of your contract? Does Popeye need to be awakened? Please keep us informed.
  8. Nellie up north the white line means nothing once the action starts. You would have to DQ at least two thirds of the field if the line meant anything.
  9. Joker tell us what you have done for cycling lately seeing that we are negative in your opinion. Many a hubber has done positive thing for cycling, show s you have no idea what is happening around you. ShaunH(signs and donating goods to PDI's - Pantani helping less fortunate cyclists Slowpoke donating clothing to cyclists) these are but just some, there are many more I can mention Don't forget our COO and his fight for us cyclist. Come prove your worth.
  10. Austin I fully agree with your statement. I for one have been around the table several times the past two years trying to prove there is talented PDI's out in the fields requiring some aid to further solidify the justification and right of passage to ride amongst the elites and yet CSA T/D commission has not come to the party Roger rather tells me about proving my clubs ability to produce. What more do I do with a youngster such as Isaac Mudau who this year has shown he can and is passionate about racing with the best when the powers that be are not interested in helping. The best thing to do is try and get a pro contract if possible for him and others. Recently we spotted a local talented young rider at the Selati tour from Nelspruit and after speaking we were made to realise that transformation in this sport is only a talking word with no backbone from CSA side. The Zambian members that participated in the tour managed to get their riders into van Zyl's academy yet the local youngsters are not afforded that opportunity from CSA. Another example of the exploitation that is taking place and needs addressing is the tokenism shown by race organizers under the pretence of helping the clubs development, you train and nurture your riders for 364 days of the year at your expense then get offered free entries and a set of kit to use on race day for them, sorry I cannot agree to such ideas.
  11. Both should be invited as they are duly representative of the associations until 2008.
  12. It is good to wax lyrical about what will be brought in by hosting these events ( Mr President's last newsletter)however to have the people on the ground held in suspense makes one wonder or is it like most companies "we boast about our profits etc yet when it comes to increases we plead poverty because the monies must be used elsewhere not on the job at hand. Breeze present a business plan and the names of the young ones you know are capable of producing the goods and request they be put on a program now already to represent our country with pride and dignity oh before I forget this been juniors where our development base starts include some of the PDI's in the camp to learn and grow with the best we have which will help with their transformation from the bottom up to a level where they can be looked upon as development riders equal to their peers in the future( Prevent the negative insinuations from spoiling a true united team as the bokke have proven can be done).
  13. Two people different cost centres same job, who actually done the job then and what did the other do. I must say we seem to be learning fast from our leaders in Gov.
  14. Guys let us not be drawn to the level of Newbie I am sure he is one of those that want and want and want without doing anything for their fellow beings. Newbie belongs to BK clan.
  15. Just think what could have been done with the money our Health minister wasted on her op and news adds trying to justify hereself or the money we will waste on the Picoli saga.
  16. Spinnekop moet nie worry nie n seker Mnr Lluyt sal hulle regsien
  17. Guys we are starting the week-end on the wrong foot here, please let us remove the emotion of the moment and reflect on the facts. I am a person of colour not looking for sympathy or the like. First I have befriended cyclists across the cycling spectrum and I can honestly say there is only a few persons I do not see eye to eye with the rest be it their manner of talking stating their feelings etc I respect that for what it is even if we do not agree. The other day I objected to something SIAS mentioned BUT today he hit the nail on its head with his statement here a classic example is cycling to mention one ( No money in the sport so there is no Gov interference at all) even most of us are not happy with issues within CSA office.Buti Khompela Sports spokeperson who threatened this very Springbok team is rather QUIET now that the boys are on the brink of been Champions once again, I bet when the President and Sports minister welcomes them home he will be there as well.( Makes you think). Nellie you live in an area where rugby development and transformation is growing in leaps and bounds but sadly it is not able to sustain this good work because money steals these youngsters away from your area. T/D needs to start on the ground level and work its way through the system, our national team must be our pride and joy and only the best should be there no tokenism allowed. BTW are you guys following the situation in cricket from club level onwards then one will see what manipulation is all about, no wonder Stauss and Pieterson are in the England camp. Politics in sport is a very decietful tool when used to ones advantage and suitability. TO all doing the Amashova we will ride with sore heads on Sunday after cheering our boys along an Sat night please excuse us for wobbling along the route. As the saying goes EISH.
  18. easy way to get this dude, he should use this route often so lay in wait for him as we have an estimate time as well, pity I only do hits on a payment basis.oh I have blanket amnesty as well from NPA.

    Mr President

Hi Popeye I have been thinking about all the issues at hand that we hear and see happening around us currently and I have decided this should be thrown open to the general cyclists for answers hopefully some will be met with appreciation by CSA. 1: Why do we need a CEO when the current COO has not had his issues dealt with. Has protocol been used to silence the COO until May 2008 when his contract is up for renewal? Between the COO and General Manager I am sure the correct policies and procedures can be implemented and followed by the office hence we will have accountability in place and persons can be fired for not doing their jobs properly. I applaud all the executive members for giving their time to do the jobs they are doing. but please remember you accepted the position so fill it with pride. By the way will we the clubs be getting copies of the AGM minutes to keep us abreast of what is happening within our sport or is this classified as well for certain members only.

    Mr President

Husky you fail to mention that this report was basically forced out of your president as a response to the manner in which our COO was asked to step down of which we the riders on the ground still have no clue to the outcome of said issue. This is interesting reading material, but how does it change the normal cyclist perception of CSA. I hope this trend will continue into the future without a noise having to be made by the cyclists first. As one cycling body we should have one set of rules for all provinces and clubs to follow right down to the recreational cyclist.

Thanks Breeze lately CSC has been doing a great deal for SA cyclists,(what a way to share your invitations with other riders as well) I am impressed and hope CSA will follow in their footsteps as this is one way of growing the sport.

Well once again we have procedures not adhered to and the riders suffers. When this team was announced Durwin Benjamin was the named reserve, yet he is overlooked in favour of someone else why then was he named as a reserve if the powers that be knew he would not be used. This smacks in the face of the CSA president's statement that his T/D team is in order and progressing well.
  23. Depends on your clubs financial status and what values you have for your members, Cyclelab and Club100 have a huge membership base yet their fees are not set for "Man in the street" Clubs such as Cresta have a reasonable fee and yet their club has nowhere near the above clubs membership. My club been a closed one has all your mentioned items and we charged a very low fee the past two years and still survived. I say your kit prices must be kept apart from your subs. Remember you will have to take into account all the licence charges next year from Province and CSA.
  24. Morning all What a load of BULL. First question goes directly to Carinus- Please inform this audience if you have been called in and had this topic discussed with you by the board. If not I propose all the affiliates and PPA as well as GPPA chairpersons be called upon to pass a vote of no confidence in the current CSA board. It is a matter of getting 75% of the affiliates of CSA to notify the secretary of CSA that a special general meeting should be called for within 21working days of receipt of the notification to specifically deal with a vote of no confidence in the CSA board. You would need to convince the other affiliates of this action as the results thereof can be detrimental or successful to cycling in this country. All the provinces details appear on the CSA website for circulation. Carinus we await your reply.
  25. Seems to me the numbers are not adding up for the organizers they will not reach near the estimated 30000 they expected.
