  1. Good choice. NExt up, uber heavy All Mountain bike to hit Mankele. PS: Nous jy 'n roadie. Haal af die liggies en sit 'n skinny saal op.
  2. Second that.
  3. Had the same thought while still on the tar. They say it's neutral and that the racing start on the gravel road, but it's basically impossible to keep up without riding in someone's slip
  4. haha, you run till blood come out of your ears Awesome. WIll check it our thanks
  5. Sorry to say, but your poll is doomed for failure. Rather ask what the opions are. Here's mine. If you have the cash go for sram xx. I ride a 2x9 setup with only a 11-34 casette. Front I have 29-42. Did the isuzu 3 towers on this setup and I could ride all the hills fairly easy and believe me there were hills. I really like the idea of not shifting too much in front. Except for hills, I always ride in my 42 chainring. Regarding your last statement, if a hill is steep and long the amount of gears doesn't matter. Its the ratios and SRAM has that sorted with the bigger casette.
  6. Please o please do yourself a favour and buy Hope sh!tshifter. IT's expensive, but I use it sparingly. 1 spray on your casette and you just wipe off the grease. Your casette will look like it's brand new. OTherwise any soap is fine to wash the bike
  7. I prefer it like this. If it aint wet, it's sandy. I just jumped in the river with my bike afterworths to clean myself and the bike.
  8. Last year the run took me like 25min for the lite, so if you hydrate on the bike you should be fine for the run. But then again you're used to drinking constantly.
  9. Gonna disagree on this one. Growing up on a farm and having endless places to play, it's not gonna be easy to stop them from climbing. When I was young I could be found climbing a tree somewhere most days. Built tree houses and various other stuff. I see it as part of my growing up and at least it kept me away from video games. I can assure you my parents do love me and I couldn't have asked for better parents. But then again, this is just my opinion and I don't have children of my own
  10. Thanks. It's crazy. The s-works is R2300 and the pro R2600
  11. You can use a sram casette with shimano derailleur. 10sp is here to stay, so I'd say it's worth it.
  12. Anyone used Bontrager RXL? From reviews it seems that they aren't very durable. How does their sizing compare to shimano? Guy at shop tells me to rather go for the spez bg pro and not the spez s-works(older model with 1 rotary closure), because the pro is more durable and easier to maintain. Or should I go for shimano m230, which has a carbon fibre sole plate, but it has Custom-Fit technology. If I buy online, where can I do the custom moulding? Any comments on the 4 shoes?
  13. Or you could use a chain tensioner
  14. Posted 02 September 2010 - 10:30 AM Ok here goes: Me and the Weight Weenie went for a day/night trail run yesterday at groenkloof(about 70min). It wasn't my fastest hardest trail run ever, but it was only my second trail run in 3 months and I did have a nice sprint at one stage. AFter the run I stretched for only 1min. I wore my pants during the run and after the run. This morning I did a 1 hour hard tempo ride and my legs felt absolutely fine. Normally my glutes would be "lam", but I had no problems. During the run I could also feel the compression it felt nice(if you know what I mean). I'm sold. I believe they make a difference.
  15. It depends on the workout and what time I finished, but normally about 3 hours. If I had a hard workout in the afternoon, I'd wear them till I go to bed. If it's a saterday morning, I'd wear them for 3/4 hours.
  16. Hoppefully it wasn't glued. I've started this monday with tyre levers to remove mine
  17. That's the cheap brands. Also wouldn't trust them. The more expensive ones, like zoot , with the compression rating and panels do work
  18. Anyone know if these guys are ligit: http://www.shoessouthafrica.net/vibram-shoes-shoessouthafrica_537
  19. You're the second person to recommend them, so KSO it is. How much did you pay for yours and where?
  20. Would have started running barefoot long ago if it didn't give you leather feet. Call me a softie
  21. Still deciding between KSO and Bikila for my next buy. KSO may be better for the trails, but it's my road shoes that are more worn out and I think the Bikila will be a better hybrid.
  22. Thanks for all the info. At the moment it feels normal when I rub my finger over it.
  23. Can't quite remember how deep the pain goes, but red marks the spot
  24. Inside of my left knee. I can easily do a 3h ride or so. With a tempo ride I can start to feel the pain a bit. In the beginning I couldn't cycle for 5km's and I also felt pain when I put my foot on the clutch while driving.
