  1. For me, both are the same. I do my own maintenance though. Road has handlebar tape that needs replacing once a blue moon. MTB has disc brakes that needs bleeding once a blue moon.
  2. It doesn't shorten the muscle. It's just because you don't use your hamstring as much if you only cycle. If you lie on the couch the whole day, all your muscles will shorten Do hamstring stretches and you should be fine. Better yet, if you were at RUNNING Inn, you've already found the solution...RUNNING
  3. Maybe next year they can advertise the race, so that I don't have to explain to everyone what I'm watching on tv. Favourites: Giving local guys chance for better racing. We've got our own tour Got to watch the start
  4. Always used squirt. My last buy was motorex(as recommended by tread magazine I think). Going back to squirt. Don't care if they say it doesn't last long, but my drivetrain is just so much cleaner with squirt. After one long ride with motorex everything is full of black oil and don't even try to touch the chain. Squirt is also super easy to apply to the chain. I'm currently using a syringe with a needle to apply the motorex, otherwise half of it lands on the floor.
  5. Almost gave up halfway through the hill to walk a bit, but luckily found some energy to push through. Must have been that large pizza from saterday evening.
  6. Turned out to be not technical. Was a real nice race. Except for the heat and a bit of a late start, everthing else was great. Well organised, friendly officials and chilled out route. Really thinking of doing the other races as well. Time to do some brick sessions.
  7. Fritz Pienaar has specialized. They have stores in centurion and pretoria
  8. Help a hubber out guys. I'm doing sasol cross duathlon tomorrow
  9. How technical is the run? Can I use normal road shoes. Don't feel like taking the trail shoes
  10. This I do the opposite. That stupid racing snake in me keeps telling me it will be quicker to open during a race.
  11. hope sh!tshifter

    Tubbies

Some guys will start by saying: Why would you use slime in tubbies?????????!!!!!!!!!! Can't give you advice on how to fix, but to prevent this from happening, always keep the valve at the top when you inflate. Then the slime will be at the bottom
  13. Two words dude: Hope Sh!tshifter I clean my white handlebar tape and white saddle with it. Also clean just about everything else with it. You'll be amazed
  14. I'd go for the mavics. They are awesome shoes. Truly understated
  15. Finally watched it. Good video and very true
  16. Ok I'm an ass, but I just ate a whole day worth of food: 4 boerewors rolls rolls = 4 x 760kj = 3040 wors = 4 x 300kj? = 1200 Total = 4240kj
  17. I'm gonna register his serial and say it's stolen.
  18. you lucky basterd. I'll give my left nut for that frame.
  19. Jy speel bietjie rond met jou fiets op 'n saterdag, lees manuals as jy het, gebruik parktool se website, kyk op youtube, google dit, vra op die hub. Nie een van my fietse was al ooit in 'n bikeshop nie.
  20. I still don't know what they did wrong. Give us an example
  21. Can anyone recommend a durable road tyre with some treads. Will be using them to commute and I sometimes go offroad(Nothing too hectic). These looks kinda nice: My link
  22. Ja, the guys that know the search function
  23. Well I was full of adrenalin and wanted to get going as fast as possible. Probably wasn't the best idea, but what the hell.
  24. Don't be unreasonable. Say there was no penalty. Now only 10 people pre-enter. Race organisers prepare for 15 people just in case. On race day 5000 arrive and everyone wants a medal, something from the watertable et. Whenever you have to pick up something from Cyclelab Fourways, give me a pm and if I do the race I'll get your number. I work in Sunninghill which helps a bit
