  2. Don't ride alone or too early along the stretch between Cape Point (Smitswinkel) and Red Hill: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=764405653608178&id=183267821721967
  3. Avoid the bicycle lane between Paarden Eiland and Woodstock: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/145936-bike-jacking-cpt-cycle-lane-sunday-14-december/
  4. I got myself this North Face pack a few weeks ago: Enduro 13 hydration pack http://www.thenorthface.eu/tnf-eu-en/enduro-hydration-13-litre-pack/p50460.html I like the option of bottles and/or a bladder. Plus it has a couple of pockets on the belt around the waste. Works brilliantly overall and no chafing (first use was a 23 km run).
  5. Devil's Peak this morning: http://instagram.com/p/wLS77WwFc3/ http://instagram.com/p/wLTUi4QFeH/
  6. It is always such a nice event. I rode it in 2010 and 2012, so it was cool to do a new route. That singletrack at the top of the first big climb was great.
  7. I like the Capestorm bibs. Specifically the Nitros one: http://www.capestorm.co.za/product/mens-nitros-bib They don't cost an arm and a leg, last for ages (through the washing machine) and are comfortable (no hard stitching, soft materials, etc).
  8. Sad news. Glad the cyclist is ok.
  9. Disappointed that I missed this race. Just haven't had much time of late to ride my bike. However, the "traffic jams" at the end happen every year that I can remember riding it. First time I did this race was in 2009 and did it last year. It obviously only gets worse (slower) every year as the event grows.
  10. I'm also interested to know about the permit.
  11. I weigh 63kg's and run 2.1 bar front and rear on 26" 2.0 tyres. Mostly jeep track and rocky stuff. Not too much manicured single track on Table Mountain!
  12. Looks like you can get results on RaceTec now: http://racetec.co.za/profile/my-events/ Just enter your name and surname under option 1. But some of the times seem a bit whack, so I think it's still a work in progress...
  13. Thanks, I saw that. But I'm more interested in position, etc. than time. My Garmin already gave me that info. I just find it weird that it's taking so long for them to upload it all?
  14. Still doesn't look like the RaceTec website has been updated with the results...
  15. Hey Meezo. No, I started in 'B'. Ran a decent time for the Peninsula Half Marathon so got a good seeding. The Peninsula half marathon is a piece of cake compared to the Two Oceans with Edinburgh and Southern Cross Drives.
  16. Managed a 1h44 for my first Two Oceans half marathon. Great event with fantastic support! Congrats to everyone who finished, especially the ultra runners!
  17. That's great to hear!
  18. Any updates on the safety in this area? Just want to check if it's still an area to be avoided...
  19. Any news on the apparent broken leg sustained by a cyclist on the way up to the King's Blockhouse this evening (6pm)? I was on my way down when one of the TMNP Law Enforcement 4x4's and an ambulance were on their way up. Looked like something had happened just near the last bend on the way up to the blockhouse. Hope it's not too bad...

Does anyone know if that SMS service to notify you of a rider's time/position still exists? 38119 was the short number.
  21. Let's hope something comes of this: https://www.facebook.com/cycletourtrust/posts/10153905316570533?stream_ref=10
  22. Sorry to hear this! Glad you are ok. How do we stop this ****?
