  1. Mine healed perfectly on its own both times. The second time it even broke in a different location. One or two weeks in a sling and you carry on as normal.
  2. Can we get pics of the sister?
  3. Broke my left one twice. Second time I was back on the bike 3 days later, no op. Its a pretty minor cycling injury. ????
  4. How do you know about that.. ????
  5. Did a 32km local race. Took it real easy, and used for my weekly long run. Much nicer than running 3 hours on ny own. Less than 3 months to Comrades ????
  6. Who used a Garmin 735 for Comrades before? I use about 40% of battery life on a 3h run. Thats with HR but not Bluetooth and no glonas. At that rate it wont make 8hours. How much of a difference will the HR make if its turned off? Any other settings to look into?
  7. If there is proof that he was retrenched because of his illness it gets even more complicated. Thats not the correct procedure at all, if incapacity is in play you need to board. Good thing to get a lawyer involved.
  8. I don't want a 100 mile race entry for free. ????
  9. I got a stress fracture from running with shin splints. Its very difficult to diagnose a stress fracture without the proper scans. If you run your finger down your shin and you pass over the fracture you will know, trust me. 2 months sounds optimistic, but with proper rest and recovery rehab its possible. Just don't run on it, like I did.
  10. It must be really tight. If any light reaches the sensor it goes all wonky. But that wont cause a spike. Might be a software/algorithm issue. Do a hard reset and see if it improves.
  11. From my Sunday run. HR corresponds perfectly with pace and climbs. Wrist based might not be the best for elite athletes, but if you use it as a guide to train in the correct zones its perfect.
  12. Sure the spike is not fitness related ???????? I did a few more runs with the two watches, including a long run. The wrist is definitely more consistent, but lacks some real time accuracy on really hard intervals. Came across a thread that said you must shave your wrist for an even more accurate reading. Did that. Marginal gains is everything. ????
  13. No contest. I might change my mind if someone runs a sub 2h02 in those Asics.
  14. Looks like Hokas. Ugly and slow. Dont think Nike is worried much.
  15. Where are other Comrades runners now at the end of Feb? Think Im on 450km, aimed for 500, but happy to be where Im at now.
  16. No I ran with two watches. I have no idea where the difference comes from, that is too technical for me.
  17. A lot of people are dismissing wrist based heart as being unreliable and inaccurate. This morning I wanted to put it to a test and did a 13km run with my Garmin 735xt (Wrist HR) and Suunto Ambit (Chest HR) I ran a hill or two to see how fast each responded to input as well. From the pics you can see that the Suunto went all haywire the first 7 minutes, and I did wet the belt. The Garmin responded perfect from the start. On the hills both heart rates responded more or less the same, but the chest heart rate recorded the recovery a little faster, about a 5 second delay from the wrist. Through out most of the run the heart rates corresponded almost 100%. Taking comfort into consideration the Garmin won hands out, and I consider it to be more accurate because of the start of the chest HR. Interesting the Suunto lost 10m for every 1km on the Garmin, thats huge. It also recorded my average pace 4s slower.
  18. I went to The Carnivore restaurant with a colleague one night. It must be the Vegan hell. Even I was put of meat for a couple of days.
  19. I had rabbit in Kenya last year. It's amazing.
