  1. Am I correct in that the top of the range does not even have Di2? I'm looking at XT brakes and mechanical XTR RD and shifter.
  2. How did you get your PCC so quickly? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. When I was looking at NZ you didn't have to do an English test as long as you have a C on your matric certificate or if your degree was lectured in English.
  4. Don't forget your internet fees.
  5. For the TdF etc it would seem one still needs a VPN/blocker of some sort. It seems for a lot of things one still needs a blocker up front.
  6. As I understand it. I could install Kodi onto my old Galaxy S3 and either "cast it" or have it connected via cable to the TV. It would be quite a lot easier not having to get up and go across to the phone should the casting function not work with Kodi.
  7. Thanks for the baby steps, Joe. Grebel, I'm not using a STB yet. Too worried I buy something which ends up not being appropriate. I had a look at the link from V12man (http://www.dbg.co.za...p?cPath=144_109) I like the idea of the Neo X6. Also been thinking of the Chromecast as mentioned previously. I have no idea of how many Apps are compatible though.
  8. I need someone to volunteer to write a "For Dummies" guide to using a Android set top box and the installation of Apps on these and the creation of accounts which provide you with x, y and z viewing options. Went and tried to get an understanding of NTV yesterday and suddenly I'm looking at Euro priced subscriptions. And Kodi? Is this an App that gives you sports only? Free? I've only delved as far as using Netflix and Showmax and then potentially using Chromecast (Showmax not able to yet) and various HDMI cables and adapters to get the picture to the TV. Feeling terribly out of my comfort zone and it's only worse because this is something I really want to do yet can't for a lack of understanding.
  9. That is rotten luck! Hopefully it can be corrected pronto.
  10. I've done some searching for NTV and get varying results. http://ntv.mx/ I take it that we are all talking about the link above?
  11. That looks proper! Makes me think of my PMB days; having great riding so near by to me. I regret not taking advantage when there.
  12. Would Strava work? I'll take my chances: https://www.strava.com/activities/208644315
  13. I'm battling to find replacement sponge inserts for my Whisper. Where did you get these helmets in JHB?
  14. I'm just around the corner from Melville Koppies and would love to try it out but I've heard so many stories about the place and that it is far from safe. Your take on it?
  15. Same here! Can't wait. I have an entry for the Otter next year as well so got to get started on training. Rather slow and controlled than rushed at the end. I've had ITB issues in the past and don't want it cropping up again.
  16. Canyon are making some spectacular bikes at the moment! Now to be able to buy them from RSA ...
  17. Just as SurferChild says, I started on FA and would swop between FA and Cape Storm (CS). I then got a chance to try Craft when they were on special and from that moment I simply couldn't go back to either FA or CS. With the CycleLab sale on at the moment I took the plunge and went for something new - Giordana and Pearl Imuzi. I tried the Giordana (Silverline) the other day and now I'm wondering whether I will ever be able to go back to Craft! I must still try the PI but wow, the improved fir from the Giordana compared t othe Craft is amazing. Assos next!
  18. My new bike. I only have good things to say about RM! Having moved over from an aluminium bike (Niner EMD) which although well kitted was on the heavy side, this is a pure race machine. I have only changed the wheels from the standard bike. This shaved 439g off the already light bike. Stans 3.30 hubs and Stans Crest rims. I simply love the white spokes. Full bike as pictured comes in at 10.37kg.
  19. Certainly a place to start. I simply don't have any "reserves" to lose.
  20. I would have hated to have been on a sturdy 14kg all-mountain/enduro type bike for the Mationals route in PMB this year. I swear that route was 80% climbing.
  21. I believe so. However I do feel that this can be extrapolated to flat riding and downhills. Perhaps not to as much of a time saving. We don't race at a constant wattage, rather a constant speed. Convert the constant watts to a constant speed means that for each reduction in weight, the watts required to keep you at a constant speed are reduced. Ultimately, this provides for a decrease in fatigue and energy use of the distance. I'm sure however that no one wants to race on a 15kg bike when you could have an 11kg bike.
  22. So you save 7.5 seconds over 1 mile (1.6km). Take that to a 75km marathon means you'll save (75/1.6)=46.8 miles. 46.8*7.5=351 seconds 351/60=5min51seconds. As Hairy and rouxtjie say, this is secondary to the feel of the bike which can change remarkably with a reduction in weight.
  23. There used to be a sign indicating a separate line for the up ride. The Spruit Fairies installed the secondary route about 15 months ago if my memory serves me correct. The up route can/could be found further away from the fence. It worked well at the beginning. I only ride that route in the same direction as the OP.
