  1. Thanks for the info. Will definitely contact David. It would be sad to see another trail close down but something seriously needs to happen.
  2. Just me ranting........Was at Huddle Park 3 weeks ago and my oh my what a disaster! What was so interesting about how many people with dogs, prams and kids were wondering on the bike trails. To add to that, there were so many un-leashed dogs running around that they actually cause quite an obstacle when trying to ride. I can see why the number of cyclists making use of the trails is dwindling down. I saw a total of 4 other cyclists on the trails. If i can remember, the rule was that all dogs are to be on a leash which looks like is no longer the case. It's not like there is limited space for everybody to make use of. There are dedicated trails for each discipline. I must say that i was very disappointed in the lack of control exercised by the dog walkers that i will not be heading back to Huddle Park again. You pay R50 to play dodge the dog, pram or walker.... no thank you
  3. On my bucket list...
  4. That list is so outdated. The newest comment is over 25 weeks old.
  5. Don't forget to budget on a helmet!
  6. My two cents would be to get the newest, best frame you can buy for the money. Components can be upgraded later. Of your choices you have listed, i would look at the Giant (1st), Silverback (2nd) and Merida 120 (3rd). Make sure you test ride all the bikes you interested in.
  7. and don't forget our favourite online store "ASG"
  8. I was at BB 2 weekends ago and must say how disappointed i was to see the lack of social distancing as well as the non wearing of masks. It looked as though everybody was back to pre-lockdown living their best lives. When you even glance at somebody "not" wearing their mask especially in close proximity of food and other people. you get this piercing stare. You correct it will be a few people that eventually spoil it for the rest of us. Very sad
  9. I think to be honest a spinning bike is a spinning bike. Most of them measure speed, calories and distance so if it's not a spin type that the gym uses (Smart) then it comes down to personal preference on brand.
  10. Kelly at Cycle East in Edenvale Or Rory at Ridgeway Cycles in Stoneridge are nearby and give great service
  11. Aaah now I can’t change my watch face on my Forerunner and upload my steps for the week ????
  12. I used to use these and they worked pretty well until the velcro eventually wears... R300 at Cyclelab
  13. I had the same issue, was shown tracking details from the courier indicating that my parcel shipped from the UK was in JHB at the depot. Went to collect it myself only to find that the parcel is in actual fact in Kenya. Have no idea what the pilot was doing there. Paperwork for the parcel is in JHB but the parcel is still in Kenya.
  14. Sorry typo error
  15. Maybe instead of a group try out Big Red Barn and do a few trails there. Generally group rides are going to be longer than 15K's
  16. Don't hold your breathe... most online stores have been saying that for the last 2 months.
  17. Covid-19 knows that a congregation of roughly 50-100 police officers doesn’t apply to their social distancing and they safe????
  18. Hi All, The wife just told me that Rosemary Hill was closed today by the police for breaking the law. Any idea what happened?
  19. I've gotten to the point with ASG that i removed myself from their mailing list. No use looking at "great deals" if you can't actually get them.
  20. There is still an under water blasting site near the Fish Eagle picnic area that is still being used...very interesting
  21. As far as i've been told, the bunkers are still being used to store dynamite for a Canadian Explosives company.
