  1. Thatโ€™s OK dreaming big is not for everyone ๐Ÿ™‚
  2. Little bit more travel and looks like a less complicated rear shock design than Trek. I like the look of both and wouldn't mind either. They are both short travel dual suspensions not sure what they are on about like they reinvented the wheel.
  3. I would say best upgrade would be a dropper, you can make up seconds on the technical sections which if you're in the top may just be the difference between winning and second.
  4. They look nice and saves a couple of grams. But they don't work for everyone. With a normal bar and stem you can roll the bar to get the perfect feeling and eliminate dead hands/fingers. I do like the look of them.
  5. Niks tegnies jy eindig met 'n stuk van die trails wat in Darling brew ook gebruik word. So spaar maar groot deel van die klim is reg aan die einde.
  6. I would not trust a R6k set of carbon wheels. I would look at Lyne pulse 28 they are around 1600g. That's not far off from their carbon wheels weight if I remember correctly. To get really light carbon wheels is going to be pricey because it's the spokes, nippels and hubs that brings the weight down and the price up. Buying old carbon wheels (which is all you might find in your budget) they are going to be narrow well used.
  7. The older bikes that had internal cabling yes that was a pain but every problem has a solution. On the new frames its as simple as sticking it in one side and it comes out the other. (unless you have a Scott) I like that my bike has 1 piece housing from shifter to derailleur. It last much longer than on my Scott that had some cable inside and then exposed cable and a small piece of housing. I changed cables every 3 months to keep gears working smooth. The brake hose running through the frame I both like and dislike. I like the clean look but every time you want to remove or change brakes you have to cut it and fit new olives. Yes this is obviously not often so the clean look wins๐Ÿ˜
  8. It's one of my favorites the faster you go the better it gets. Talking about ultimate races does anyone know or have a route on how to get to the Cliffhanger trail in Wellington that was part of the Big five race?
  9. Banhoek trails Check out my activity on Strava: https://strava.app.link/hai2LZrxXyb Fast flowing trails with quick climbs luckily because you will want to do it again and again ๐Ÿ˜
  10. Lekker morning exploring some of Bottelary we haven't been on ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป
  11. Daai koppie lyk bietjie helderder vandag ๐Ÿ˜
  12. Great morning on the trails! Just grins all round even one small oops was just laughed off. Note to self bolt check bike ๐Ÿ˜‚ we just could not get enough even after 3 rounds of everything we still wanted more but decided while we are still in one piece not to push our luck ๐Ÿ˜‚
  13. Had the misfortune of needing to replace my crank but thank to the excellent service from @Lyne Components Dale quickly had me sorted ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป Fitted new rubber, some valves that goes nicely with the bike and will most likely go unnoticed if not point out ๐Ÿ˜‚ and some hidden art.
  14. Well I think everyone knows I'll always take a well specced HT over a entry level dual any day of the week on any trail!
  15. https://www.cyclelab.com/product/1014359-e-bike-mtb-titan-nitric-se-2021 Titan has one that seems very nice even comes with a dropper ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป
  16. Armoured ride full custom wrap only thing the black part at the bottom bracket is starting to peel but they said I should just take it back and they sort it out. The rest you really need to look closely to see where it ends and the next part starts.
  17. I ran a xo1 11spd with a 11-50 sunrace without any issues but tried to run the same cassette with gx on my brothers bike but it didn't want to work the 46t cassette works but the 50 was just out of reach for the gx.
  18. That makes 2 of us ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ
  19. Does anyone have a 165mm non drive side sram gxp carbon crank arm? I'm not expecting it for free so if you have one please let me know. Seems finding a new one in stock is impossible. Thanks
  20. If the bike has internal cabling just run it through the frame. It's a little bit of a pain, remove the bb and fork and run it out where the front derailleur cable would go. If it's got external at the bottom and it's aluminum at the bottom of the bb on most bikes is a small hole where the water can run out. I would just very carefully make it a bit bigger.
  21. One thing looking at the bikes from the Epic, they all have long seatpost stiking out almost looks like they are rinding a size smaller than they should be.
  22. Those frames where over 40k a couple of years ago so I don't think 35k for a complete bike is to much. Just be sure of the size. Good bikes I know of a great mechanic from Bellville who races on one ๐Ÿ˜ might be the best person to speek to about them. (Mark's bicycle workshop)
  23. As they say in the Bible only the wicked run when they are not chased ๐Ÿ˜‚
  24. I don't think it's something we will see in the shops. The special Aspen race or what ever they call it has even a different tread pattern. I know it's the same pattern as last year they just reinforced and changed the compounds. I think the name isn't even printed on it written on so must have been a rush to get it ready for Epic and testing.
