  1. If you are running narrow rims you can run 2.35 but with very little clearance but realistically 2.25 is your max size without damaging the frame. I've had a couple of them and they are great but tyre clearance is not great.
  2. I just wanted to say that looks like a Trek and if you're close to Knipe there's only one agent. I would rather give my bike to MICA for repair 🤣
  3. Registering for sars they require a photo of you holding your ID. Could likely be a stolen photo. From a old phone or off the internet or it could be him, that's just it there's no way to prove it.
  4. I don't need a frame but a new project couldn't hurt much. What size is it? 😁
  5. I have to say, I have been so sceptical/doubtful about going carbon, but I have always wanted a set. A year ago I decided to build my new bike with Bontrager Line elite carbon wheels as they have lifetime warranty, 2 year crash replacement and no weight limit (I'm not light). After a year of dumb line choices and going faster than I should on blind runs (on a HT), they have not missed a beat. Except for replacing the bearings I have not needed to do anything else and have not lost a single tyre even running ultra thin sidewall tyres. Much better than changing a stan's rim every couple of months and losing at least one tyre per rim.
  6. I have to agree I've had xr5's aswell and the grip was great. If you run them to soft it feels like you are sliding all over but that's the tyre moving/folding what ever the right word. I now have a set of the less aggressive xr4's for a little less weight and rolling resistance and still no issues with grip. I would say get a decent pressure gauge and start with the recommended pressure on the side of the tyre and go little down or up to find the sweet spot. Otherwise get a set of Maxxis and see if it changes the bike 🤷🏻‍♂️
  7. I am 174cm and on a medium Superspeed. Had a proper setup done last week and was told ideally with my short legs I should be on a small. My Scott medium was quite a bit smaller than Silverback. Giant, Silverback, GT are generally bigger bikes and Scott, Cannondale and trek are smaller bikes. For instance my buddy's Trek Fuel EX 9.9 size Large feels compact to me. Test the bike would be best.
  8. Die video het my nou net lus vir ry ☺️ sal eendag saam met julle wil speel.
  9. Yip we all do that 😂🤣
  10. I do, just to hear if they are relaxed or flat out 😂
  11. I have to say passing someone is much more fun than being passed 😂 If I hear gears behind me no matter how far I've gone I will put everything in not to be passed 🤣 had a couple of roadies the other day say "wow your a strong climber for a big guy", at the top of the hill from D'ville golf club to Durban road. I put in max effort as I was just going to Bloemendal for a drink much needed after that 😂
  12. I'll be honest I've only read a couple of comments but man some of these sound depressing.🤣 I ride on my own or with who ever wants to join. Usually we are a group of 3. But when I ride on my own I don't think about the dangers. I ride to free my mind, even yesterday on my own I had a encounter with a fallen tree and nature and the first thing I did was check my bike and then got upset that I scratched my new lid and need to buy a new pair of gloves 😂 but still had a lekker laugh at myself and enjoyed the rest of my ride. If I'm attacked I'll cross that bridge when I get there (again) . This time of year I have a overflow of frustration so might be a good release 😂 Only things I fear is running out of talent and snakes and definitely worst would be running out of talent at a snake 🐍 😂
  13. The idea of new is better and this new site just does not feel better. Hopefully it will get better. PS: not the best idea to start lunchtime on a Friday, I'm not very tech savvy but could have told you it's going to blow up.
  14. 2.6 would fit the Silverback trail Slade, my Superseed has great tyre clearance but even on that 2.5 only has about 4-5mm on a side.
  15. Not sure where but I have seen pedestrian crossings that has poles coming out of the ground when the light is red. 👌🏻 But in this country it would most likely get stolen for scrap, be an issue during loadshedding or come up at the wrong time with are special work force.
  16. So I have been cycling to and from work the last week or so and enjoying it. But that said the same Ford Ranger close passes me nearly every morning, I'm sure there will come a time I can ask him face to face what up. I ran a pedestrian over who walked right in front of me without looking. I was surprised that I didn't go down. But most people give me enough space. I just want to know why do they stop basically against the kirb at the light 🚦 do they feel some sort of shame when you pass them 🤷🏻‍♂️
  17. Security will be slow to respond as they most likely get a cut from their buddies.
  18. I was not the most popular with yesterday's trail choice 🤣 it's always a lekker challenge the climb to saaltjie but the trails down never disappoint 👌🏻 have to say trails conditions are excellent well done to the guy's keeping their hands on it 🍻
  19. Tyres will move around on dirt, I would suggest a couple of skills training sessions to build confidence. Nothing wrong with a HT going to a dual is not magically going to improve your riding if your skills are lacking it's just going to lead to a big crash by giving false confidence. Just my two cents
  20. Scott is a "bigger" name so I'd bet at the same price the Silverback will be better specced.
  21. Fitness machine Brackenfell 0826217322. Have had very good service from them with our treadmill. They service and repair 👌🏻 They also do call outs but that's obviously more expensive but more convenient.
  22. My bike took me to and from the Ebike 🤣 what a blast those things are on the trails just for a quick play. It really flattened the hills and left me with enough energy to push hard home on my n/a bike 😂
  23. My last set of tyres was more expensive than my first complete Trek 🫣
  24. Another fun day out on the bike. Forgot that I fully closed fork rebound last night to look up what the factory settings should start with which I never did, got sidetracked. Only took the first rock garden to remind me of that 🤣
