  1. I would also say the Trek would be best all-rounder. You say XT groupset is that 10, 11 or 12spd? The Spaz sounds very tempting being 12spd and carbon but I think all that travel is going to climb like being on a trampoline, I might be wrong closest to that I have been on was a Reign and that was a tough 30 odd km's but it was also running on soft Minions.
  2. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/Yf59z5pxsPtC9crs/?mibextid=oFDknk New is not always better. Now I'm not entirely sure who they intend this for but I'll keep using my current setup 😂🤣
  3. Have you found one? Pretty sure I have one at work. Let me know
  4. Net iets wat baie mense miskyk en wat vinnig jou keuses kan limit is tyre clearance agter, veral met 'n HT is dit belangrik.
  6. At that price I would look at the Titan cypher limited on sale at bike addict for close to the same price.
  7. If it's not face to face use Bikehubpay. They buyer pays the fees. I have used it a couple of times the past year and it just works. No risk, no stress and both are covered.
  8. Durbanville and Kraaifontein border (Kraaistantia) with over 150km trail network on the doorstep, not even thinking of the 100's of km's of farm roads. Fancy riding somewhere else, Bottelary, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Wellington all only couple of minutes away. To be honest there are so many great trails and places to live all over the Western Cape it's a difficult decision that I am glad I don't have to make.
  9. Thank goodness because I love my Cookie Monster socks 😂
  10. Some serious strength in that finger 😂
  11. Bike is perfect, I am a pro at falling without damaging my bike 🤣 Yes on days and trails like these that I wish I had my gopro just to take it in again. That climb is 90% in the forest, following the water so beautiful and technical enough to keep it interesting without killing yourself 👌🏻👌🏻
  12. I can't believe I've never before been up the climb on the right of Plaisir. It's the first ever climb I have enjoyed. Real friends first takes a photo then askes if your bike is OK and then helps you up 😂
  13. Iekker morning out. Taking it one farm a day, so nice short rides to still spend most of the day with family. trails at the top would love some rain. Sorry my bike kept on photobomming the views 😜
  14. The whole black vs white helmet is interesting, I have had 4 of the same helmets in different colours. First white then red, blue and now black. Given the hell fire we had this summer I really can't say if I have noticed any difference. Maybe I just have an cool head 😜
  15. I'm running Sram Lunar with Shimano XT cassette and chain. Has never missed a beat, shifts fast and quiet even shifting under load is smooth. My main reason was Shimano's ratios is just so much better than Sram and the overall smoother quiet ride is definitely a plus. That said I was building my bike from scratch with that in mind. Some freebodies are inexpensive and some are m#&r duur. So it might be cheaper just to go with the same cassette again.
  16. I saw this and thought the same even the newer models where less than half of that🤣 in that case I have a like new HT for only R90k but this offer is for 2 days only 😂
  17. Yip another vote for CBR they do great quality custom work 👌🏻
  18. Lekker ride on part of epic day 6 route. They are in for a treat but ja I guess by that time they are going to be on autopilot.
  19. Lekker day out, thanks to those who helped no matter how short the distance any help was appreciated. On the second half I won't lie I was wishing someone would help but I could see I wasn't the only one having to dig deeper. Still that smile I saw every time I looked back made he find the power to push harder. Mr Smiles aka Levi and I finished 3de of the buggies first n/a powered one. 😂 span widget
  20. I would look at anything else except mk3 stan's. I had to replace my flow mk3 so many times that it was more cost effective going with carbon hoops on my new bike.
  21. Really surprised at how lekker the bike rides with these gravel tyres. Slapped them on for the CTCT, need every little bit of help with pulling the buggies.
  22. 20mm up or down changes the geometry with less than a degree. You could use a negative stem or take out a spacer if you feel the front getting light on steep climb. This said I will not add more than 20MM. Given the range of light 34/35mm forks that's what I would replace it with. Something like a Fox 34sc or RS Sid 35.
  23. Hard but fun day on the bike. Getting used to pulling the cart for the Cycle Tour.
  24. I think it could just be pushing to hard to keep up with the bigger geared bikes. Could also be why it's easier to keep up on the hill's as they have to work harder. Gravel bike is never really going to be able to sit with road bikes, you have most likely more weight and rolling resistance and not big enough gearing. I don't think it's your fitness but if you want to mix it up with those people it would be best to have similar equipment.
  25. Powerlift, that stuff cleans any and everything off your paving. Sold at Brights hardware and some others as well.
