There are advantages to being short, I'm not easy to spot in a crowd and I easily miss low branches on the trails 🤣

Finally did Red Phoenix thanks to some help finding it 😁 my type of trail no peddling needed all the way down 👌🏻 The clay sections are like snot when wet, my boet took a close up sample to confirm 🤣 To the guy who passed us on the way up between #5 and #6 FFFF@@@@ck bru did mamma promise you something if you get home early. I have never seen someone climb that speed and that is not a easy trail to negotiate. Well done!, that must be a new record. I don't care even that it was on a Ebike I won't be able to go up that speed even on a motorbike 😂

Took a couple of weeks off, had some knee pain. Put everything back to how I had it before the set up small changes and good to report no pain and a lekker ride 👍🏻 VID-20240623-WA0012.mp4

Definitely if you are looking at the same spec at the same price new would definitely be the way to go. Titan has a great warranty even buying second hand they still retain their warranty (the only brand I know of who offers this) that is definitely some confidence in their products. They are also very active here on the hub which is always great to see 👌🏻 Long story short I don't think you can go wrong with Titan.

The Trek superfly is an older bike I think it was discontinued in 2015/16 it's not a bad bike but it should be well under your budget. The Stumpy could be fun what year model are you looking at? The new titan looks like a fun bike a little to much travel for my liking but hey I ride a HT What would I know 🤣 The Giant stance is good bang for buck and giant's in house parts are decent quality. In your budget I would look in the classifieds as there's been a couple of nice bikes in your budget.

As far as I know engine oil and fork oil are 2 very different things. The experts can give better info but I would not try it.

Yes and no. Going to high means on steep climbs you won't have enough weight on the front wheel causing it to lift or be difficult steering.

It's at Toeka they have all sorts of old stuff. They actually have 2 Choppers, this ones condition is just wow given the age.

The Scott and Trek might have slightly better geometry (according to some) the Titan has much better suspension, groupset, wheels and weights probably more than 2kg less than the big brands.

The sand was really not bad maybe I'm just conditioned after gravel and grape, now that was sandy but still more fun than today maybe it was the brandy points 😁 The Darling race always starts with a lekker kuier Friday (well for us) thinking of it that might have contributed to the suffering today 😂 but I think I'd rather do the Ride darling than DBX again. There's just no fun sections could have done today on a gravel bike. If they made that climb with some switch backs it would have been rideable and would it kill them to make a some single track? Last year with the mud sucked but the route was still more fun.

That was so stupid. Everyone standing waiting and then walking it and the little downhill section after that. I can't remember the last time I passed so many people on the downs. One guy said to me "wow you are fast on the technical sections", what technical sections it's all jeep track and fields o Ja and the dumbest climb I have ever seen. Not one person even tried it, even the Ebikes where pushing up there.

Ek het telling verloor 😂 bottomline that Trek and Scott has entry level suspension and weight about the same as an Ebike, both of these things take all the fun away. I would in all honesty if I had to buy a new dual now just have to decide which Cypher to get.

Between the Trek 5 and the Spark ton I would go with the Titan Cypher 😂

Had fun at the GOAT playing on all the features. Only thing I don't see working are those drops, who ever decided to put them on a hill with no space to get up to speed unless you are on a Ebike and have more balls than brains. We started on the highest drop and used that as a run up to the lower drops. But still a lekker morning out 👍🏻
